Another awesome concert. Obviously by X however the Horror Pops was new to me and I went home that evening a huge fan!!!
The Blasters and Horror Pops were fun but X delivered. The retro movie playing throughout the show was awesome! We got DJ on xylophone and Billy on sax. I'm disabled and I was really impressed with the staff assisting me in getting around and finding easier seats. Hot chocolate was found when it got a little cold. Great night!
I am an LD and have done many lighting gigs with X back in the daze, always a blast, and I try to attend their gigs whenever possible and this gig did not disappoint...I had the perfect seat, right in the center and right in front of the mixing booth (this is where I usually sit at The Greek) and the band performed their songs with expertise and angst and I enjoyed every note, thanks and keep rockin...
I've never had a bad seat at the Greek. The show with X was everything I needed. Concessions were great, ushers were helpful, bathrooms were clean. Thank you!
First time at The Greek! Really easy to get in and out of the venue đ X, The Blasters and Horror Pops were so great. Love seeing my favorite band X for the 41st anniversary tour. Felt normal and fun! Love Live Music!
Only wish the sound was louder for us in B section and beyond. $20.00 margaritas is harsh but the guys bartending took the sting out of the price. They get 5 stars!
First time at the Greek. It's a great venue and I definitely will go back to see more shows. The Blasters were good, Phil can still sing well even after all his health issues. I'd never heard of the Horrorpops before but they were fun and sounded good as well. X the just plain kicked ass, I went with my son we had seen the 30th anniversary of Los Angeles at the HOB Sunset. The setlist was well rounded, Having the encore include " The New World" along with Exene saying happy birthday to Brandon and exuding him to "let's go Brandon" made it even better.
The opening act was worth ticket price alone. X came out and put on great show for us old fans. Ace of Spades in Sacramento is a fun spot and easy get right up front.
Overall positive, good sound and lights. I donât like that they refuse you to go in and out as needed (in my case I needed to make a phone call).
We arrived and didnât know what to expect after 42 years? We were amazed at the energy and pure talent of this band. Billy zoom was awesome on the guitar, John doeâs and xeneâs voices were amazing, and bone break killed the drums! Itâs amazing for me to see the younger crowd react to this music the same as a guy who loved them in the 80âs. I only wished they played âwhite girlâ or âlos Angelesâ but I will be at their Detroit concert and hope to hear those songs then.
They still rock after all these years. It was a great show in the perfect venue. Canât wait to see them again.
I like the setup of this venue. It's standing room only, but there are levels so the short people can see. The sound system needs work. I could hardly hear Exene singing. John Doe brought his A game. Lots of charisma. Great musicians in this band. I normally don't like drum solos, but this one was really good. Play list was good but they didn't sing Los Angeles - seems that should be a staple? Crowd was fun. Everyone was into it.
X has been my favorite band since the first time I heard them in the late 70's early 80's. And the concert on Friday night was one of the best concerts from X. And trust me I have been to many X concerts! They played for like 2 hours straight! They were so good! The security guard sat us down in the balcony and we were like 20 feet from the stage!. I loved it!
These guys still rip! Billy Zoom sends an electric storm through the room with a little smile on his face like the Cheshire Cat. You canât help but bounce as DJ and John cook through these classic songs. Exene still sounds amazing. Classic stuff delivered with zest! Excellent!
X was great. They sounded great and were a lot of fun. That new masquerade location is horrible. It's a dirty sketchy spot. Like Jimmy G. said it's like playing the zombie mall.
This band was a huge influence in my life growing up. The LA punk scene was so defining to R&R, and X was the best band of that scene. Awesome riffs, unbelievable lyrics, and 4 incredible musicians made X my go-to band. After 41 years they still rock LOUD and FAST! Thanks Exene, Billy, John, and DJ for coming to STL, and showing the audience that X belongs in the R&R HOF!!! Rock On!
X sounded great. The venue was perfect and a great place to see a show. Itâs just a long 2 hour drive to see a band play maybe an hour and 15 minutes.
Great show and a wonderful band. Would see them again.
X always puts on a great show. This show was one of the best. I donât know if it was this amazing venue or the great opening band, but it was unforgettable.
