  • Desperately Great

by Very Oldman on 12/19/22Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

These guys are as great as ever. Just fantastic. D.J.'s vibraphone solo was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen. At first I was like, "Man, there are a lot of skinheads here." But then I realized it's just because we're old now. Best show ever!

  • 30 years on my bucket list, totally worth it!

by JenX on 12/19/22Orpheum Theatre - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This was one of the best shows I have ever seen and believe me, I have seen a few. I lived in Hollywood in the late 80s and somehow never managed to catch X. Getting to see the Avengers live was like having whiskey ganache in a Guinness cupcake. Both X and the Avengers have aged well. It's two days later and my throat is still a little scratchy from screaming my head off like a teenager! If you have the opportunity to catch this tour, or either of these bands, do it! (No disrespect to Los Straightjackets, they seemed fun but I came in late so will have to catch them another time for review purposes)

  • X the Band is awesome!

by Mateo on 12/18/22The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 4 out of 5

Billy Zoom is 74 years old, John Doe is 69! These guys play with enormous energy; technically they as good or better than when I saw them 30 years ago! The Observatory is cozy, with excellent sound. Not a good place for people who don’t like to stand for the entire show.

  • Amazing

by Mouse on 12/18/22The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

1 of the greatest punk bands ever! Such a great show every time I see them!! Truly 1 of America’s pioneers in punk!!

  • Great show

X was great. The sound was good. The crowd was fun and excited to be there. They played a great bunch of songs. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

  • X y Los Straitjackets son my bueno!

    by Gregario72 on 12/16/22Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 4 out of 5

X - the original lineup, the enduring, long-lasting lineup - took the Neptune by storm with a rocking hour-and-fifteen minute set (had it not been a weeknight, I would've loved it to go on longer.) John and Exene's voices showed no signs of damage, and their harmonic vocals still meshed well. We were treated to an upright sax solo by Billy Zoom, and DJ Bonebrake playing the vibraphone. Got to hear all the classics - "Los Angeles", "White Girl", "The Hungry Wolf", Johnny Hit and Run Pauline", their cover of "Soul Kitchen." The long-time fans were very appreciative. Los Straitjackets did their surf luche libre thing, paying their annual tribute to The Ventures via familiar riffing in between songs. Highlights included instro-surf versions of "Linus and Lucy" and former tourmate Nick Lowe's "Cruel to Be Kind", as well as the lesser-known Trashmen song "Bird Bath" (yes, it does sound somewhat like "Surfin' Bird.")

  • still rocking!!!

  • KIILLER show as usual

X always rocks. Never a dull show. Great set list, band was tight, will always see them when they come through Seattle.

  • X FOREVER

by captainbondo on 12/11/22Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen X at least 25 times since the 80s. They were on fire at the Neptune! They just keep getting better. Nothing like old-school LA punk!

  • X Rocks but Neptune sound sucks

by Stephanie on 12/11/22Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

I see X everytime they play in any city i live. Always a great show!!! But the Neptune really needs to get there sound together:( This is the 2nd show I have seen there in a month and the vocals are too low.

  • Best show I have seen them do in ages

by Thom Bone on 12/11/22Neptune Theatre - SeattleRating: 5 out of 5

The energy level was much higher than usual. It's almost like there was an Egyptian reiki master filling the room up with Egyptian reiki or something. Can't blame that for John Doe's amp blowing up at the end though. That was all him running it too hard, lol. Sent them a message offering them their choice of loaner equipment to use for the rest of the short tour but I'm not even sure why they have a Facebook because they never ever ever respond to it. I wasn't going to use private numbers because I know better from touring myself how hard it is to keep focus. Anyway the show was great, I hope they enjoyed my Christmas present that was delivered right before they're set and I wish them all the best as they complete their tour. I'm also hoping that they make another album soon because alphabetland is amazing, this band is on fire and the world deserves another X album with Billy. I might even be able to help with that I know a great place in Sunland I know you guys would love to record in.

Loved the venue ! Would like to see a bit more seating when waiting for concert to start but overall was great ! Easy to get to , parking was a issue but you know that for all concerts ! Drinks were reasonable ! Would love to see more bands here

  • I went to see soft kill.

by Mel on 12/22/21The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

I went to see softkill with my friends and it was the most beautiful Christmas present I’ve gotten to date. So lucky to have gotten to see them live and that I got to hear X after.

  • GREAT 👍

by This Blue Dot on 12/21/21The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

My wife got the tickets for our date night total surprise!, it was her first time seeing this Great Band, she loved it, the crowed was cool no bad vibes, shout out to the bartenders for their hard work. Great venue we would go back again.on a side note the sound system needs some work.

  • X at the Observatory

by Graywhiteboy on 12/21/21The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 4 out of 5

I’ve seen this band countless times since 1981. Overall pretty good but Exene actually looked bored and didn’t really look like she wanted to be there.

  • What a show ***

    by R. L. on 12/21/21The Observatory - Santa AnaRating: 5 out of 5

Fantastic show at a fantastic venue. X was really great tonight engaging and energetic like it was 40 years ago. Yes the years have aged us all but the music lives on like it was yesterday. Exene and John came across as so grateful to do what they do and I just want to say from all of us fans we are grateful too that we have been able to share your music for all these years. X rocks forever

  • Memory Lane

by KIMO on 12/7/21Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

Seeing X i this small club setting was absolutely perfect! They still sound amazing after over 40 years of performing and really got the audience of all ages totally engaged and singing along 🎶🎶The club itself was also well run and the sound is top notch, looking forward to returning to the Teragram ballroom again soon.

  • Still got it, never lost it

by Stevelandotw on 12/7/21Teragram Ballroom - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

X has been and continues to be the complete nexus of punk, rock-a-billy, folk, alt-country and pure kick ass rock and roll. John and Exene’s harmonies still give me chicken skin, Billy Zoom still shreds with class and taste (while sitting on a stool!) and D.J. holds it all together ( exactly like Charlie did with the Stones.) As long as they want to play for us, their adoring (and rightly so) audience, I will be in faithful attendance.

  • GREAT SHOW!! POST COVID
