WWE SmackDown Live on Tour
A smackdown is when one gets beaten in battle so completely that there's no doubt about who won the fight. There could be no more appropriate name for this WWE staple, one that has seen some of the bloodiest and most intense fights of the modern WWE era.
After taking over the WWE in the early 1980s, CEO Vince McMahon was on a tear to step up the organization's game and bring its message to new generations and demographics of fans. He started by hiring prospective superstars like Hulk Hogan and Roddy Piper and setting up events like WrestleMania.
By the late '90s, new additions like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Mick Foley, Triple H, Kurt Angle, Kane, and The Hardy Boyz necessitated something... bigger. This period was called the "Attitude Era," it needed an appropriately grand event to showcase these newer fighters, and Vince McMahon had come up with storylines that required more space. McMahon created WWE SmackDown Live in 1999 for just this purpose. The new weekly event was a brand extension meant to exist alongside Raw, another massive wrestling show, but eventually the two overlapped.
Since it arrived in the middle of the "Attitude Era," where fighters were becoming increasingly abrasive and personal with their drama, SmackDown featured more adult-oriented content, politically incorrect characters, and immersive and intense feuds. And for many, it was as important as something like Monday Night Football.
SmackDown has been broadcast from more than 160 arenas in more than 140 cities, and it has taken place in seven countries. As of October 2018, the show had taped more than 1,000 episodes. Throughout its history, SmackDown has had a solid diversity of material, with special episodes like "Christmas from Baghdad," the "Eddie Guerrero Tribute Show," "SmackDown All-Star Kick-Off," "Sin City SmackDown," and "The Rock Return Show."
Great experience at the event. Biggest complaint is that the police directing traffic were very rude
Love this event, was so interactive and live for the price advertised I believe I got a deal
VIP entrance was great, seats were very comfortable and the event itself was very economical! WWE put on a great show and my daughter and I had a wonderful time! Thank you!
It was an awesome show!!! The ushers that we encountered were super friendly!
We were in the front row section F 2021 and 22 I took my mother and her sister they’re in their late 70s they absolutely loved it! The action was right in front of him Daniel Bryan jammed one of the new days in the wall next to my mom and my aunt and literally it blew them into their seats they were ecstatic !! Kobe Kingston hugged my mom in the end and she absolutely loved it said it was worth seeing the show because we net only saw SmackDown but we got a bonus of 205 live they also watch N X T they are the most loyal fans you’ve ever meet. Of course there Roman reigns was nowhere to be found but that did not discourage them knowing that he was going to be in a big event coming up in a couple of weeks . My mom was a little lady with the purple shirt on and her little arms were going boo boo boo with the fingers pointed down to Daniel Bryan and some of her other wrestlers like Kevin Owens she absolutely loves wrestling. I took them to see hell in the cell unfortunately we were sitting in the same seats and we’re blocked by the corner of the Cell and really didn’t get to see much until the end where they fell off of the cage and fell right in front of their seats !
The show was awesome the seats were amazing the whole event was off the charts thanks ticket master
Ive been to live WWE events before. This was pretty good and enjoyable. I was there with a friend who was experiencing a live event for the firat time. Seeing her reaction at being there live made the event that much better.
Wwe smackdown was a great event always fun to go to i took ny nephew adriel for the time and he absolutely loved it and he can't wait to go back to another wwe event.
This place is always the best!! Great people working and ensuring that you get to your seat and that you are not doing what you shouldnt be doing. Staff is always so friendly and helpful. Will not go anywhere else to watch or go to an event. KEEP IT UP!!
It was just ok, It's not like the old days WWF. Too much drama and much too long between matches. I became bored with the videos between matches. There were no programs available to tell you the order of the matches, I didn't know the show was over until people started to leave. I had also purchased tickets long before and upon entering the Moda Center was told that I needed to be reseated. I'm not sure that I would attend another.
The wrestlers did what they needed to do, provide their part of a quality show. However the setup behind the scene was lacking! Too few stars. Wrestlers coming out more then once, twice to wrestle? Too obvious this was following a tv platform with included commercials. Been to a lot of good show. This was disappointing!!!
Woulda gave it a 5 star but nit many wrestlers were there this time and ir happened to be the 1 time i go all out and pay for front row smh
It was awesome! At the beginning they had Roman Reigns in the advertising as if he was coming out at some point and he never did even to say hi. That was disappointing
Was a blast! When you are there live you kinda get to see the behind the scenes a little bit and it breaks the Emerson but it’s still super super fun! Would 100% do it again given the chance!
The wrestlers were good but there was to much self advertisements going on, they were forever showing events of what happened before or whats coming up next.
I’ve always wanted to go to a WWE event and being able to get these tickets with ease made everything so much better! I will definitely be looking into another WWE event when one comes out here again.
I used to watch wrestling when I was younger and there was definitely a lot more WRESTLING on the show back then. It seemed like there was only 45 minutes of wrestling in a 2 hour show. The 1 hour after-show of only cruiserweights was more entertaining than the main show.
I enjoyed the show and mom was very excited about seeing such amazing talent. I loved Finn’s match the most
Best time of my life. Love going to WWE events when they are here in Sacramento would not want anything else. Wrestling fan since 2006 ,WWE is truly Then, Now ,Forever
Great Show, Wish there were more WWE events. I have only seen WWE Raw/Smackdown come to Sacramento once a year so far. But hoping also for a major WWE PPV come to Golden1 Center.
