World of Dance on Tour

A celebration of NBC's hit reality competition World of Dance, the tour of the same name commemorates each season with a showcase of contestants from that year. Appearing onstage alongside heavy hitters in dance-competition circles, the high-energy show gives World of Dance contestants the opportunity to show audiences why they were selected to compete on network TV. The routines, style and choreography will leave you breathless — and excited about the next season's raw talent.

World of Dance Background

Since 2008, the World of Dance enterprise has been the world's premier source for dance entertainment, holding competitions around the globe that showcase talented dancers of all ages. In 2017, NBC premiered the Jennifer Lopez–hosted reality competition World of Dance, which pits juniors (dancers under 17), soloists and teams against each other as they vie for a million-dollar prize. A three-person judge/mentor panel, on which Lopez is joined by R&B singer Ne-Yo and Dancing With the Stars hoofer Derek Hough, scores each competitor as they move in sync to modern hits and classic floor-fillers. Alums of the show have competed on other televised dance competitions like So You Think You Can Dance? and America's Best Dance Crew, while first-season winners Larry and Laurent Nicolas Bourgeois, collectively known as Les Twins, brought their new style hip-hop moves to the stage alongside Beyoncé before and after competing on the show. Other dancers made appearances on Lopez's 2019 It's My Party tour, surprising audiences with their sleek choreography.

World of Dance embarked on its first tour in 2017, after the show's first season lit up the ratings books. Since then, stars from each season have hit the road after the winners' crowning, performing intricate, high-energy routines that dazzle audiences with their innovation and unparalleled talent. World of Dance looks spectacular on television, but live, it truly comes into its own.

    Good show, frustration with tickets

by KT on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

Show was great! Amazing to see these talented dancers in a nice theatre. I was very frustrated that my tickets said 7pm. Apparently the show time was 8pm and doors opened at 7. That was 100% unclear. I would have appreciated knowing that so I could have avoided some of that rush hour traffic.

    Disappointed

by Honest Guy on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

I LOVE J-LO!! I love everything she has ever done and World of Dance is the best show on television. I was soooo excited to see this show. It bore no resemblance to the show. It was like high school dance practice compared to the show. I should have suspected because the tickets were not expensive. Production values were poor. The performers were not at their best. I was just sad and disappointed. Not a J-LO production. Sad. I can’t wait for the next season of the show...

Had Such an AMAZING TIME! *Can’t Wait to See MORE like THIS👍

by DB on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

Attended the “World Of Dance” Show at *The MAGNOLIA in El Cajon,Ca on 11/22/19. My daughter, myself,& friends had such an amazing time! The Dancers, performance, costumes, music, stage art,& lighting were All INCREDIBLE! (might consider adjustment to Bass within sound volume though, as even a bit less would be as effective, w/already great acoustics, & not risk triggering any possible heart or brain condition.🤕😳😉😊) We especially enjoyed the Music & song choices used,& the sketches dancers did in between. This was perfect the perfect venue for it! Can’t wait to return &see More Shows like this one! 💃🏻🕺🏻😉 Thanx Live Nation! 👏

    Short show

by Mark p on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

Kids worked hard. Dancing was great. Need a few more dance groups and the show was way to short.

    Time slot

by M. Jean on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The performance was great. The seats were fine. Venue front entrance difficult to find. Venue was supposed to have been updated and renamed. Found it to be less than "fine" with concrete floors and very little amenities. Better setting for a rock concert, not dance and a jazz concert later in Dec. My biggest disappointment was the advertised start time of 7 pm became Doors open at 7, performance to start at 8 PM once I arrived at the venue. Not much seating to use while waiting. Not good for older, disabled people.

Performers are Amazing! The rest, not so much...

by LadyBug on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

There is no doubt the performers are amazing! Superb! Well done! Five stars for the performers. Unfortunately, myself and many others in the audience, are irritated significantly so as to consider not coming back to the show (and another similar one) because of the lighting and music. Its not the only time. There is no need to flash blind the audience. We came to see the dancers and not be blinded by the lights (and miss some of the incredible moves). Yes, the music could have been turned down a few decibels, but the bass sounded like a super loud blown out speaker.. "Bwwaaaaa". If there are audio problems at least don't make them so loud.

    Amateurish dance show

by Lilcalgal on 11/25/19The Magnolia - El Cajon

The dancing was good...some was great, but the overpowering bass on the soundtrack was very distracting. The commentary between dancing was like a theme park performance. The venue location was marginal. While I enjoyed some of the dancing, especially that of Unity LA, many of the Kong’s dancers seemed fatigued, so their performance left me wondering why they won. They were far more impressive on tv. I think the stage was too small for their routines. The bass was especially problematic on their routines.

    Timing is Everything

by Kat on 11/20/1920 Monroe Live - Grand Rapids

Loved the show and loved the performance. My only complaint is that the tickets, Facebook, and the website all said that the show started at 7pm. Problem is we got there and were told the doors didn't open until 7. So we wasted 15 minutes just waiting to get in. Once we got in we didn't have any idea when the show actually started. 7:30 came around and there was nothing. 7:45 and still nothing. We had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for the show to start after originally getting there and planning on only 15 minutes until it started. We were bored and disappointed with the wait. My sister had wanted to go to the show but wasn't able because of an early morning commitment the next day. Imagine if she had come planning for it to start at 7 and then found out it started at 8. That wouldn't be a great set up for her morning.

    Amazing Dancers

    by gidge89 on 11/19/19State Theatre - Minneapolis

The dancers were amazing - so talented and strong. We wish there would have been more acts from the show though.

    Number of dancers disappointing

    by M. E. on 11/19/19State Theatre - Minneapolis

The dancers we saw were great and entertaining but it was very disappointing that there were only three dance teams in the entire show. Seemed odd that after all of the different dancers that appeared on the TV we saw three. Disappointed is the best description.

    Great show but...

by Jeni on 11/19/19State Theatre - Minneapolis

We arrived 3 min late due to traffic and missed Elle & Ava who were only on at the very beginning even though it was their home town. That part was disappointing but loved the other 3 groups!

    Disappointed

by TJ on 11/19/19State Theatre - Minneapolis

The Kings, Unity L.A. and Luka and Jenalyn were very good, however, it was very disappointing for the ticket price. The show was lacking the professionalism of the tv show and was more like a dance recital. The Kings and Unity L.A. were missing half their teams ( K - 9/15 & U- 6/10).

    Not all there

    by L. M. on 11/19/19State Theatre - Minneapolis

As a dedicated watcher of the show I was disappointed to see 6 United LA members and 8 Kings. This took away from each performance and the routines seemed to be shorten because of this. Also disappointed the King’s did no new routines other than the group ones. Doing a tour I would have expected to see something new. Lastly where were the dancers? 3 seasons of WOD I would have expected more than 3 groups to preform. This was very disappointing because there are so many groups to choose from.

    Great Show!

    by C. P. on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Loved seeing THE KINGS & UNITY LA. In addition to them, I would have enjoyed seeing some of the other top acts from this past season to add variety. Luka and Jenalyn were very good, but until I looked them up, I didn't remember them from the two previous seasons. The upstage lights were way too bright, an made it difficult to see the performers. Otherwise, great show!

    So much fun!

by Krystal on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

I attended this event as a ladies night out and it was absolutely entertaining! The dancers were incredible and made the entire event fun and interactive. I was in the balcony seats and while the view was amazing, the lights did get a little too intense a few times throughout the show. It didn't take away from the experience but if you are sensitive to light, you may want to be prepared for when they turn them all the way up or get seats down on the floor level. This was more than worth it and I will be looking for tickets the next time that WOD is in Indy!

    DANCING AMAZING- Low budget production

    by A. H. on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The dancing was INCREDIBLE. SO AMAZING. The attempted humor between acts was corny and not effective. I would have much preferred videos in between of a group or individual's journey as a dancer, etc. The production seemed super low budget. Having an emcee would have been great. It was a glorified dance recital. The dancing, again, was worth all of the money hands down.

    This show was amazing!

by LM on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

Loved it! Although I noticed that each group was missing some of their dancers, I wonder if it's due to the size of the stage. Anyway, it was great!

    Not worth it

by M on 11/18/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - Detroit

To start with, the tickets said "World of Dance 7pm" but upon arrival at 6:30, the doorman tells us the doors open at 7pm, but the show starts at 8pm. I was annoyed at this but decided to let it go for the sake of my daughter. We go in and the stage is set up like a low-level high school dance competition, and the seats are fold up chairs with numbers on them. On top of that, there were only 2 acts from this season there, a few from the group The Kings and a few from the group Unity, and another couple from a different season. That's it. The Kings and Unity put on a good show, but I feel like for the money we paid, we should have had more people there from this season. The dances got a bit repetitive, and the show was very short, about an hour. I wouldn't go again. It was disappointing.
