World of Dance on Tour

A celebration of NBC's hit reality competition World of Dance, the tour of the same name commemorates each season with a showcase of contestants from that year. Appearing onstage alongside heavy hitters in dance-competition circles, the high-energy show gives World of Dance contestants the opportunity to show audiences why they were selected to compete on network TV. The routines, style and choreography will leave you breathless — and excited about the next season's raw talent.

World of Dance Background

Since 2008, the World of Dance enterprise has been the world's premier source for dance entertainment, holding competitions around the globe that showcase talented dancers of all ages. In 2017, NBC premiered the Jennifer Lopez–hosted reality competition World of Dance, which pits juniors (dancers under 17), soloists and teams against each other as they vie for a million-dollar prize. A three-person judge/mentor panel, on which Lopez is joined by R&B singer Ne-Yo and Dancing With the Stars hoofer Derek Hough, scores each competitor as they move in sync to modern hits and classic floor-fillers. Alums of the show have competed on other televised dance competitions like So You Think You Can Dance? and America's Best Dance Crew, while first-season winners Larry and Laurent Nicolas Bourgeois, collectively known as Les Twins, brought their new style hip-hop moves to the stage alongside Beyoncé before and after competing on the show. Other dancers made appearances on Lopez's 2019 It's My Party tour, surprising audiences with their sleek choreography.

World of Dance embarked on its first tour in 2017, after the show's first season lit up the ratings books. Since then, stars from each season have hit the road after the winners' crowning, performing intricate, high-energy routines that dazzle audiences with their innovation and unparalleled talent. World of Dance looks spectacular on television, but live, it truly comes into its own.

    Way too short

by Kristin on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

First, I will mention that there are only three teams that perform in this show. It was my understanding that there would be more than that. The performances were good because they were all amazing dancers. The part that upset me the most about their show was the fact that it was only an hour and 10 minutes. The first half of the show was 35 minutes long with a 25 minute intermission. The second half of the show was also 35 minutes. I don’t think I’ve ever been to such a short performance, especially one that I paid $60 to see.

    WOD - Indianapolis

by S. on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

While the show was very entertaining I was shocked that there were only 3 acts. The 3 acts chose were amazing and we enjoyed ourselves, but I would have been very upset if I had paid any more for the tickets. Out of multiple seasons of WOD and so many talented acts, there certainly should have been at least two more added to the line up.

Very short and not enough Variety of teams

by Psbrok on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The dancers that were there were AMAZING!!! I was disappointed that there were only three groups total. I thought there would be more than that. I was also surprised by how short it was. They danced and talked for about 30 minutes. They took a 20-25 minute intermission and then came back and danced for about 25 minutes more. I was a little let down by that but really enjoyed what we did see. Very talented people and the tricks were amazing live~

    Less than impressed

    by E. C. on 11/18/19Old National Centre - Indianapolis

For a "World of Dance" live tour we got half of two groups and a duo we'd never heard of. It was like paying (literally) the price of a nice dinner and getting a bag of potato chips.

    World of Dance

by Krock224 on 11/16/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - Detroit

The dancers in the show were amazing! I only wish they had a few more dancers from the show. It was only two groups and one duo. It would have been even better with more variety.

    Wonderful!

by Kate on 11/16/19The Fillmore Detroit presented by Cricket Wireless - Detroit

The show was great. They had 3 dance groups from the show, including the most recent winners of the show. They performed routines seen on the show which was amazing to see live. It was high energy, fun, and beautiful. I would've thought there would have been more groups from the show but they really gave everything they had and we really loved it. As far as the venue, we were front row so were able to see perfectly. If you were mainfloor and not in the first 2 rows...i wonder how well they could see? The chairs are just folding chairs and there is no stadium/ height difference..so i imagine heads would be in the way. Further back the chairs were a little elevated. Balcony looked like seating had good views.

Anyone who enjoyed the most recent season of WoD, would love this show! The acts that performed were engaging and entertaining. Wish I had taken more photos! Would love to see it again.

    Disappointed

by B. M. on 11/14/19The Louisville Palace presented by Cricket Wireless - Louisville

Only 3 acts performed. Intermission was 33% of the time. Kings only brought 9 members. Hookie dialogue. Overall left very disappointed.

The WOD show was great. My grandson and I got there too early, but they let us stand in the front due to the cold.. The worker's there were so nice and friendly.

    Fell incredibly short

    by Nope on 11/12/19

I have tried to submit this review several times and kept receiving errors, so hopefully it works. This show was incredibly disappointing, not as advertised, and completely lacking in expectations of what it should've delivered, in comparison to the quality of the live show itself. First things first - the dancers (who are technically trained) were wonderful, strong, and great to watch on stage. I never liked the Kings on the show, and didn't think their performances were worthwhile on the tv show, nor on stage during this tour. As others have mentioned, the tickets for this "tour" were pricey, and you got to see three acts that weren't even the COMPLETE groups that we watched dance the show on TV. That was 100% disappointing. Both the Kings and Unity LA groups represented on stage were half of what performed on TV if not less than that, and the impact of the dances was so much less than what it could have been - had the entire groups actually performed on the tour. Jenalyn and Luka were incredible, undoubtedly my favorite to watch, but they couldn't carry this show alone. Unity LA has incredible choreo and extremely talented dancers, but their group was so small, it just wasn't even close to what we saw on the show. The other thing that I really hated about this tour was that the dancers themselves had to host the show and dance in between all their awful jokes and talking on stage. Are you kidding me?! WOD can't afford to pay someone to MC these shows so that the dancers can do what they do best and have time to make costume changes?! WHY. I could not take listening to these dancers on the mic, no offense, but they are not professional hosts, and shouldn't have had to host their own dance show at all. This was a low cut budget version of what was delivered on TV. Don't spend your hard earned money, if you're expecting the full groups you watched live and something as cool as you saw on the stage in terms of backdrop, lighting, set / stage drops, etc. There was literally two screens on the stage and that was it. So incredibly disappointing and not worth the money. I love Unity LA and Luka and Jenalyn and would love to watch them dance again, but the rest of this show was incredibly hard to sit through. I wouldn't attend another WOD tour show ever again.

    Stick with the TV show

    by Mark W on 11/12/19

We paid almost $100 per seat for nosebleed. When we arrived we were offered floor seats 3 rows from stage. This was because the Louisville Palace ended up only being 3/4 full. Our show had 3 dance groups with 2 missing half the members. The show felt awkward at points with forced dialogue with the audience and attempts at comedy. The stage lighting was terrible, with points during the performance when you felt like 8 semis with their high beams were driving towards you. They need another act like a hiphop/step crew or something to balance the contemporary crews. The Kings saved the show for us even with their smaller crew and watered down performances. I dont blame the dancers, they are all extremely talented. The show producers are 100% to blame. Id reccomend staying at home and watching the TV show.

    What a let down!!

by Houstonbrit on 11/11/19Revention Music Center - Houston

This show was a great disappointment, while the dancers were undeniably talented there were only three acts and two of those were missing several members who had been on the televised show. The different styles of dance did not mesh well so each group danced mainly in their own style performing routines that were from the show but honestly suffered from the lack of dancers. There were thirty minutes of dance and then thirty minutes interval and a further thirty minutes of dance then all over. I felt sorry for the parents who had splurged on tickets for their children expecting better than this. I have attended the So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing With The Stars live shows and they were far superior to this. If World of Dance tours again we will not be buying tickets.

    Amazing

by TT on 11/11/19Revention Music Center - Houston

It was amazing to watch live! All the dances were phenomenal! But i was expecting more than 3 groups. I think at least one more group would have made a big difference.

    Worst show I’ve ever seen.

by K. W. on 11/10/19The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

The show was unexpectedly terrible. My boyfriend and I loved watching all 3 seasons of the show, and expected the tour to be a high-quality, exciting event, and it was the opposite. There were only 3 dance groups there, and they were taking turns hosting the show themselves. It is clear they are dancers, not hosts, as they struggled through all of their cheesy lines. We were so disappointed and bored that we left at the intermission...which was 37 mins into the show. Don’t waste your time or your money.

    Very good

by Lystra on 11/10/19The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory - Irving

I enjoyed the show and the awesome talents of the performers. However, The show did not wow me. I expected more performing groups, bigger stage and more props or better backdrops.

As a dancer I expected a great show but this show was just AMAZING! Some dances were funny and made my laugh and some of them were just breathtaking and made me cry so hard. That was an awesome experience in my whole life and I just started miss my old dance classes after the show so it made me go back to the dance floor!

    Great entertainment!!

by J. on 11/9/19Aztec Theatre presented by Cricket Wireless - San Antonio

The show was filled with different styles of dance and lots of humor! It was high-energy and entertaining! They danced all of our favorite performances from the show, but had new routines as well. I didn’t realize Luka and Jennalyn would be performing, but they wound up being my favorite dancers of the night!! We had a really great time.
