  • A great performance

    by n/a on 5/8/24Avalon Theatre - Grand JunctionRating: 5 out of 5

I am in the middle of a move, packing and unpacking. I needed a night of entertainment, so I chose to attend Swan Lake. I was familiar with the music and was not disappointed. It was a great performance.

We love the majestic and can't get enough of the World Ballet and Swan Lake.

  • Beautiful production

by Sissy on 5/1/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

I wish there had been some kind of handout that gave scene locations, a synopsis, and names of key players. I don't even know where this orchestra is from -- local or touring? -- and I would have liked to know the conductor's name. Wonderful to have live music though, and the dancers were stellar! Two small things to report though ... there needs to be a review with the dancers about total synchronicity. In the small groups, 3-5 dancers, someone always seemed to be a half-beat off. Also, I thought the black feathery character seemed stiff, not enough extensions, maybe tight in the hips.

by Linda on 4/30/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The performance was great. Seats were with a good visibility (we were in Box T). Drinks were on the expensive side, but that is to be expected. I enjoyed our afternoon showing very much.

  • Not bad

The price was great for a superb performance. The location was a bit cramped and seats were uncomfortable. If it was at winspear.. probably be excellent

  • Ballet Good, Majestic Bad, People Worse

by JJ on the Lake on 4/30/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

I think that the ballet was really good… but it’s hard to really say. We missed the first 5-10 minutes because so many people casually walked in late. Then it got worse when a woman waddled her way down the balcony stairs and the entire row in front of us had to exit their seats so she could spend another 3 minutes just trying to make her way to her seat…. However, it turned out that she was in the wrong section and an attendant had to ask her to move to her correct seat. Then another couple were in the wrong seats but not sure where to go. The husband walked back up to the entry way but the spouse decided to stand in the middle of the aisle for 5 minutes blocking everyone’s view behind her. Really?? People eventually lost patience and started heckling her to sit her backside down or leave the area. 15 minutes later we finally got to see some ballet… amazingly it was interrupted 5-10 more times by people who showed up late. If you arrive 20-30 minutes after the start they shouldn’t be allowed to disrupt everyone else’s night out. Finally the Intermission arrived and we grabbed a few drinks and go back to our seats… my wife sits down and her chair completely breaks off the base! It was pretty laughable at this point. Her choice was to sit on the nasty concrete floor in her evening gown or stand at the hallway and watch from there as best we could. It was a cluster bomb of an evening out in Dallas! In short, The Majestic is nowhere near its actual name! However, as bad as the theater itself was… the people who attended the ballet were decidedly worse! People are losing all sense of common courtesy. I think that the ballet was alright, but we missed so much of it that it’s honestly hard to really know.

  • Overpriced drinks

by Lujan on 4/30/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The company’s performance of Swan Lake was delightfully entertaining. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and professional performance. We cannot wait to see it again. The only drawback were the incorrectly priced drinks at the bar. The Majestic Theater must have automatically included a 20% tip on their orders. The receipt did not give a breakdown. How does 4 drinks at $15 each come to $82?

  • Beautiful performance

  • Ballet was fabulous

by Ralpoh on 4/30/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Detest the complicated app demanded by Ticketmaster. If you don't have a cell phone you can't attend a concert! Even if you have the smart phone it is a major hassle and really spoils the joy of attending a function!

  • Overall, a great experience

Wonderful theater (Majestic in Dallas); Live orchestra, and stunning ballet

  • Good performance but obstructed view

by Tom on 4/30/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

The dancers ( from what I could see) are very good and the orchestra played well. Unfortunately, the center seats I paid a premium for were obstructed by the conductor. With no orchestra pit, the musicians were seated on the same level as us. The conductor stood for the entire performance, making a blocked view for everything that took place center stage. A very disheartening time.
