  • Magic!!

by OlaP on 4/24/23Genesee Theatre - WaukeganRating: 5 out of 5

What a beautiful ballet!!! So many truly gifted dancers! Magnificent music of Prokofiev paired with the Russian school of ballet was such a treat! My husband thought “the sisters stole the show”, but I really enjoyed the prince and Cinderella! Flawless, magic, beautiful! Our girls loved everything! It was our first time at the theater and what a cute place! We’ll definitely return!

  • No purses allowed

by Doggie mom on 4/19/23Peoria Civic Center - PeoriaRating: 4 out of 5

Please be sure to emphasize that no purses are allowed. Did not enjoy having to hike back to the car. Do not feel comfortable leaving money and credit cards locked in my vehicle.

  • Amazing!

by Caroline on 4/18/23Peoria Civic Center - PeoriaRating: 5 out of 5

This is my first time seeing a ballet, and my best friend bought us these tickets for my upcoming birthday and it was wonderful! I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

  • Ok

I thought the show was good, but way too expensive.

  • Prince's costume needs upgrade

by Kathleen on 4/18/23Peoria Civic Center - PeoriaRating: 3 out of 5

The ballet was great except for one thing. The prince's costume was white, form fitting and left nothing to the imagination. All other male costumes were colorful, fanciful and creative without fitting so closely to cause members of the audience, especially those with children to be uncomfortable. Next time, I'll do more research before taking my grandkids to a ballet.

  • It leaves a lot to be desired…

    by C. N. on 4/17/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Based on the price you come to expect a very good quality and well rounded ballet, I am no expert and I simply enjoy watching this beautiful art form and I’m in awe of those who have the patience and dedication to such a demanding dance style. i will say before I get further into my review that the dancers were beautiful, they were each very talented and a pleasure to watch in the regard so I won’t take anything away from that part of our experience. Outside of that the show was extremely short, the first act was absolutely not more than 20 minutes and that is probably being generous. The second act was longer probably around 40-45 minutes, with a 20 minute intermission. Secondly this story unfortunately does not hold accurate to the story of Cinderella we all have come to know and obviously love so there are certain storylines that don’t make sense such as who I assume is her father is still alive in this one? Also we saw many little girls who came to watch wearing the iconic Cinderella dresses excited I’m sure to see there favorite princess dancing around and I’m sure were disappointed to realize she would never dawn her well known blue dress for the ball. That leads to the costumes, outside of the disappointment of no well known princess dress, part of the ballet magic itself is seeing all the fancy overly fluffy tutus and sadly there were none. Also the prince left ABSOLUTELY nothing to the imagination in his outfit, and while I know this is the ballet so you have to come expecting to see men in tights this was…for lack of a better word excessive. The rest of the men had on capri pants over their tights however he was only wearing opaque white tights with nothing underneath to obscure any sort of outlines…in the back or the front. So just be prepared I suppose because it was slightly jarring and I promise I’m not a prude haha. Last but not least was that our seats were not great but we paid close to $200 for 3 people to see this show which I was happy to pay when purchasing the tickets because it set expectations high that this show would be spectacular, when in the end it left us feeling very disappointed.

  • Great Show

My 4 yo aspiring ballerina was enthralled the entire time, so graceful, so pretty she said :) We had a great time!

My girls enjoyed this ballet so much. From the costumes to the music and dance, it was very well done!

  • Beautiful

The ballet did not disappoint. The dancers were graceful and full of character. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.

  • The Prince’s costume.

by Dee dee on 4/10/23Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

The staff was wonderful. Great venue. The ballet was wonderful. The costumes & colors were excellent. But the Prince had on pants that was 3 sizes too small. It left nothing to the imagination when it came to his private parts. Very inappropriate for kids.

  • Definitely a kids ballet

by Xu Fei on 4/10/23Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

This is a great first ballet for a little one. The first 5 minutes dragged but it does quickly pick up the pace a bit and the background is very colorful. Do not expect a Nutcracker type performance, this is not that. This is very engaging for your active little ones who will remember the experience and hopefully want more. It was worth the price...

  • Bizarre

by Elaine on 4/9/23Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 1 out of 5

This was a very strange version of Cinderella. Don’t expect to see Cinderella with her signature blonde hair and blue dress. The mice look more like giant sewer rats (I would think children found them scary). The prince left very little to the imagination with his white tights. It was extremely revealing and uncomfortable to watch when he would come on stage. Found myself wishing the time away and that the production would end rather than enjoying my time watching this. I would not recommend.

  • Great performance!

by Lele on 4/8/23Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 4 out of 5

The performance was great. They didn’t start on time but they did a great job. The only thing that was missing was snacks. The performance was too long and late in the evening of a work/school/week day not to have snacks. There were tons of children there but even as an adult something simple like a bag of chips or a candy bar and something to drink would have been nice.

  • Cinderella ballet

by Christy on 4/8/23Thalia Mara Hall - JacksonRating: 5 out of 5

It was beautiful! As well as entertaining and comical. Would definitely do again.

  • Not up to my expectations

    by S. L. on 4/8/23Rating: 2 out of 5

The opening was a little slow with too little ballet dancing and yet too much frantic body movement. The ballroom scene was beautiful, so shoutouts to Cinderella and the Prince. Overall, the value of the show fell short, given the price it charges. Regrettably, it cannot hold a candle to the breathtaking classic Swan Lake.

  • LEFT WANTING

by FarmGirl63 on 4/3/23ArcBest Corporation Performing Arts Center - Fort Smith - Fort SmithRating: 3 out of 5

I enjoy ballets but this left us bored ( 1 granddaughter fell asleep and she's 9). It was very slow moving and hard to follow story line. Doubtful that I would spend the kind of money I did for this one again.

  • Absolutely Wonderful

by Krisme on 4/2/23ArcBest Corporation Performing Arts Center - Fort Smith - Fort SmithRating: 5 out of 5

This ballet was beautifully danced and done. The comedy was a great addition to it.

  • Loved it

Beautiful dancing coupled with some slapstick silliness. Engaging and fun
