  • Projector trouble...

by M. on 1/16/19Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 3 out of 5

When the movie started it wasn't lined up to the screen and the movie had to be stopped by twice to adjust it. They should have tested it before hand to avoid that happening in front of everyone

  • Wizard of Oz Movie

    by L. T. on 1/16/19Shea's Performing Arts Center - BuffaloRating: 4 out of 5

This was really a wonderful event! The only reason it was not a 5 star experience is because of the film quality (off the screen in the beginning, very blurry at times, etc), but I would still absolutely come back for a movie in the future!

  • Big screen Wizard of Oz - Sing along.

by NickFloyd on 6/26/17The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

The Orphiem is a great place, if you've never been find a reason to go. If you've never seen the Wizard of Oz on the big screen it's a great time. The sing along had the words to the songs on the screen, everybody sang. There were young and old, kids dressed as Dorothy, Witches, saw a guy with lion whiskers. Worth it.

  • attended with my 5-year-old granddaughters

by memphisstars on 6/26/17The Orpheum Theatre Memphis - MemphisRating: 5 out of 5

It was a great introduction for them to the Orpheum, and the sing-a-long was fun. They can't wait to go again. I hope I have started a lifelong love of movies and theater for them. The only little negative was the $15 parking fee to park in the adjacent lot.

  • Great time with the kids!

I liked the entire show from beginning to end. Kids had a great time and I enjoyed myself. The show within the show was good too.

  • Wizaard of Oz

by OldGrandpa on 7/22/15Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 4 out of 5

Always a joy to see this classic 1939 film because the rendering of fantasy scenes in it was progressive technology, weathering even into the fifties when I was a child. However, the film needs an update on the sound quality. The real treat was walking my grandkids (aged 7 and 9) on a tour of the Alabama theater. They were actually impressed for once.

  • The Wizard of Oz

by 20BrownTrout on 1/1/15The Palace Theatre Albany - AlbanyRating: 5 out of 5

Made for an excellent date. I personally love events at the Palace and really thought it would be great to see this legendary classic. My girlfriend loved it too

  • by Anonymous on 12/29/14Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 3 out of 5

Movie was great but it didn't start until 9:00pm. We had to sit waiting for two hours. They should have started closer to 8:00pm since we had to get there at 7pm to get good seats.

This has become a Holiday tradition, love the movie and theater.

  • by Anonymous on 12/29/14Paramount Theatre-Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Great movie, not sure why there were people dressed up on stage introducing the movie, and not really sure why there was a prize wheel there. These extra activities/intros extended/delayed the end time of the movie......people have things to do.....Other than that, it was good.

  • Beautiful Site and Great Film

    by perry1127 on 8/13/14Alabama Theatre - BirminghamRating: 5 out of 5

Took my 7 year old daughter to the Alabama Theater to see the Wizard of Oz. It was the first time for both of us. She loved the theater and enjoying checking out each of the levels. Of course, you do not have the comfort, surround sound or constant concessions that you have in normal theaters today. However, it was great to travel back in time and see how it was to attend a movie for my grandparents. We will definitely go back again for other events.

  • by endorphinseeker on 7/31/14Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

  • Awesome!

    by CurtisL88 on 7/29/14Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was so much fun to see on the big screen! Recommend!

  • by Anonymous on 7/28/14Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I was amazed by the fidelity of the old 35 mm film and thought it added greatly to the nostalgia of the event. There is no better place to view a classic film than in a classic theater like the Tennessee.
