Amazing staff and such a classic movie. They did face paint and gave free popcorn. It was a pleasure to attend aventura center cultural arts
When the movie started it wasn't lined up to the screen and the movie had to be stopped by twice to adjust it. They should have tested it before hand to avoid that happening in front of everyone
This was really a wonderful event! The only reason it was not a 5 star experience is because of the film quality (off the screen in the beginning, very blurry at times, etc), but I would still absolutely come back for a movie in the future!
The Orphiem is a great place, if you've never been find a reason to go. If you've never seen the Wizard of Oz on the big screen it's a great time. The sing along had the words to the songs on the screen, everybody sang. There were young and old, kids dressed as Dorothy, Witches, saw a guy with lion whiskers. Worth it.
It was a great introduction for them to the Orpheum, and the sing-a-long was fun. They can't wait to go again. I hope I have started a lifelong love of movies and theater for them. The only little negative was the $15 parking fee to park in the adjacent lot.
I liked the entire show from beginning to end. Kids had a great time and I enjoyed myself. The show within the show was good too.
our whole family enjoyed this nostalgic evening at the Paramount Theater, complete with the movie on the big screen, newsreels, and a raffle. we'll do it again.
Our Friday date night could not have been more fun!
what a wonderful thing you all are doing. i had such a wonderful time at this event. even though i ave seen this movie on the t.v wow on the big screen it was a whole new joy.
Everyone should see this movie at the Alabama!!!! It was a great experience!!!
Always a joy to see this classic 1939 film because the rendering of fantasy scenes in it was progressive technology, weathering even into the fifties when I was a child. However, the film needs an update on the sound quality. The real treat was walking my grandkids (aged 7 and 9) on a tour of the Alabama theater. They were actually impressed for once.
Made for an excellent date. I personally love events at the Palace and really thought it would be great to see this legendary classic. My girlfriend loved it too
Movie was great but it didn't start until 9:00pm. We had to sit waiting for two hours. They should have started closer to 8:00pm since we had to get there at 7pm to get good seats.
This has become a Holiday tradition, love the movie and theater.
Great movie, not sure why there were people dressed up on stage introducing the movie, and not really sure why there was a prize wheel there. These extra activities/intros extended/delayed the end time of the movie......people have things to do.....Other than that, it was good.
Took my 7 year old daughter to the Alabama Theater to see the Wizard of Oz. It was the first time for both of us. She loved the theater and enjoying checking out each of the levels. Of course, you do not have the comfort, surround sound or constant concessions that you have in normal theaters today. However, it was great to travel back in time and see how it was to attend a movie for my grandparents. We will definitely go back again for other events.
This was a fun event for the entire family! We had a wonderful time!
Must see! How many times do you get to watch a wonderful movie in such a beautiful building. The entire experience is well worth the trip.
This was so much fun to see on the big screen! Recommend!
I was amazed by the fidelity of the old 35 mm film and thought it added greatly to the nostalgia of the event. There is no better place to view a classic film than in a classic theater like the Tennessee.
