  • Merchandise

by Kristina on 3/25/25Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 4 out of 5

We had a great time and the show was wonderful. Before intermission it was announced that we should get our "green glasses"from the merchandise table. There was only one table with a very long line. One person from our party had to miss a good portion of the second half of the show while waiting in line, only to get to the front of the line and there was only one pair left. If you're going to announce that we should purchase an item, you should have plenty of that item, and also staff the table appropriately so nobody has to miss the show.

  • awful

    by alaskakanmaineiac1 on 3/25/25Cross Insurance Center - BangorRating: 1 out of 5

The shown was extremely painful. it had nothing to do with The wizard of Oz and it was not on ice. I would not recommend this to anyone

  • Good for what it was

by Bigsby76 on 3/13/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 3 out of 5

The show was good for what it was. It was clearly designed for children, so my wife and I were a bit underwhelmed, but we would recommend it if you have young kids.

  • Odd

by MST on 3/13/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 2 out of 5

This show was nothing like expected. Kinda out there in some parts and hard to follow.

  • don’t expect any music from the actual movie

by Becca on 3/13/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 1 out of 5

It was on a stage not a rink. So weird. Oof this was terrible. We expected the music to at least be sung and not kids bop version of music we have never heard. They did mediocre job honestly and it was disappointing

  • Loved it!

by JLM on 3/13/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 5 out of 5

It wasn’t at all what I was expecting-in a good way! I loved it!! It was funny and clever. Please come back to Syracuse!

  • Ehhh Just Ok

by Erica on 3/13/25The Oncenter Crouse Hinds Theater - SyracuseRating: 3 out of 5

The show was just ok. My daughter (age 7) liked it and my son (age 10) was bored out of his mind. If you didn’t know the story line, then it was confusing. As an adult who loves the Wizard of Oz, I was bored and I know many people sitting around us left 15-20 minutes into the show. Would not go see again or recommend.

  • Isn’t wizard of oz

by Sara on 3/6/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 2 out of 5

The music is completely different. It should be called wizard of oz reimagined. A lot of people left at intermission because they thought they were seeing the wizard of oz just on ice. Not one song was the same as the movie. All new songs. I wouldn’t have paid more than $20 if I knew what this really was.

  • Acoustics Were Not Good

by ClassyGirl on 3/6/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 2 out of 5

This production struggled mightily. It did not start on time due to loud technical sound difficulties that we were all forced to endure while waiting for the how to begin. The sound was muffled and since the entire show's sound was played by a recording and not live singing, it was difficult to hear the words the characters were saying or the words in the musical numbers, which was unfortunate since it was original music. My 6 year old son did enjoy it overall though. The show moved along fairly quickly, which was appreciated. The first musical number with the Kansas townspeople was not good to put it generously, but I did enjoy the all of the witch's numbers. The costumes were great, especially the Emerald City ones.

  • It was OK, but technical glitches dampened the show

by KV on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 3 out of 5

We were really excited to take our grandkids (8 and 5 yrs old) to see this show. We had hyped it up a lot with them. Unfortunately, there was a technical issue with the sound system that halted the show about 5 minutes after it started. The show was stopped for about 25 minutes and the grandkids started getting restless. This was on a school night and we didn't want to get them home too late, but the technical delay started to became an issue. I don't understand why sound checks weren't done before the show started to prevent this from happening. Once the issue was worked out, it seemed like the sound quality was reduced, but adequate. Aside from this issue, the show was OK, but not that impressive. I expected more based on the promo ad. The sets weren't very elaborate. The skating was good, but the show itself was fair.

  • Definitely not the Wizard of Oz

by Todd on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

If you're hoping for anything resembling the original Wizard of Oz, skip this show. It was obvious that there was no licensing, as none of the beloved original songs found their way into this production. The singing is just part of the soundtrack, which failed five minutes into the show and took another twenty to bring online. The ice skating itself was decent, but seemed completely separate from the show. All-in, pretty awful.

  • Worst On ice show I have ever seen.

by Xrayaries on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

The all new Wizard Of Oz was not worth a $25 let alone free. No original music it was all new music that was so awful My wife an I nearly left at intermission. We decided to stay and it definitely never got better. The lyrics and sound was just horrific. The stage props is something you would have seen in a 3rd grade play. The lasers were pointless and distracting. The projected graphic looked like a child created them. Do not waste you money.

  • Waste of time

by Papa on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 1 out of 5

Started 30 mins late, used pre recorded vocals, used AI for the advertising, ads showed the MGM /WB Oz on ice photos when this was not the case. Also, it wasn't on ice?

  • Expected more

by Him on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 3 out of 5

Overall, we thought the skating was remarkable. Obviously, the more important factor in casting the performers was the skating ability. It certainly was not the acting skills. Music was so-so. Even tho the characters from the Wizard were unmistakable, costume wise; the story line was not. The bottom line is: We expected more! We were disappointed.

  • Disappointed and Confused

by NOT The Wizard of Oz on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 2 out of 5

This show was so strange and only loosely followed the actual Wizard of Oz. From the random characters that made me think "this must be what it is like to trip on acid"to the silver (not Ruby) slippers, and finally the lipsyncing to a soundtrack for all characters, it was definitely not something I'd see again. It felt more like a middle school production that I spent way too much money on.

  • Just ok

by Jeeg on 3/5/25E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - AkronRating: 2 out of 5

It was just ok- 5 year old loved it but it was just ok. Merch was poorly marketed and overpriced and there was clearly no sound check as the show stopped at the beginning for quite a bit of time. Would not attend again.

  • Not Wizard of Oz

by LoverOfAllThingsOz on 3/2/25Rating: 1 out of 5

The skaters were great, the costumes as well. However, there is no planet this should be titled “Wizard of Oz.” It does NOT follow the original story line by any means. The only thing Oz about it is the character names. Please don’t be like us thinking you’re going to go see the Wizard of Oz story played out on ice. What you’ll get is a very talented small cast taking on many roles with hints of the original story here and there. But it strays so far from what you’d expect from the title, at least 1/3 of the audience left after the first act. I’m upset at the amount of money I spent on 4 tickets plus T-shirt and light up band for this show so I’m leaving this review in hopes of warning other parents who also have Oz loving kids expecting to see their beloved story on ice, because this is not it. There should definitely be some sort of description on Ticketmaster explaining the storyline or something. So so disappointing
