Fun show, lots of references that MN public radio and National Public Radio fans recognize. Peter Sagal is a quick wit, Open Mike Eagle such a genuine person, the music was great, DJ from the current, Jacki, was great, John Moe and Paul F Thompson are hilarious. The theater was Hot, pretty uncomfortable in the high seats, but the crowd was fun and diverse, overall a good relaxing fun night out.
I LOVE Matt Nathanson and Bobcat Goldthwait, and it was great to see them both live and to get to know them a little better. I have seen Matt Nathanson perform before and in this setting, it was hard to see Matt be so restricted, unable to just let it all out. I do love that he performed acoustically...as that is rare and many musicians do not allow their music to be stripped down like that. Since Bobcat Goldthwait no longer does stand up and because he directed Matt's "Kink's Shirt" video, it was a rare opportunity for us to see him; we love comedy. Would we do this again? Maybe with the right combination of guests. It was not what we expected; however, with it being NPR, we know it would be a clean act and it is something we could bring our daughter to, as there were other children in the audience. That being said, it is NPR and there is some political humor that favors the liberal viewpoints - just saying.
This was my first time at the Fitzgerald Theater. I was amazed at how Beautiful this place is. Tha show was Great !! I will be back for other shows. Thank you!
This was just not what my husband and I expected. We loved Matt Nathenson and it was interesting to learn more about him. But we really went to hear him play his music so in that regard it was a disappointing since he didn't play a whole lot. The comedian at the beginning was really funny. As always Matt & Eric put on an awsome show when they were on. but the overall show was disappointing just because my husband and I had no idea that it what it was all about.
Fitzgerald Theater is a great venue! Good viewing & sound from our floor seats. Wits program overall & Kristen Schall were great & musical guest (new to me) was impressive
John Moe, ever the quirky and talented writer and performer makes this show amazing! Also, this week Typhoon performed and blew us away. The fitzgerald theatre is amazing, the show is great! What more can I say!?
Kristen Schall drew us to this show, Typhoon blew us away! We now have a new band to follow and pictures with the brilliant and hilarious Kristen Schall (thanks for meeting fans after the show). We can't wait to hear the edited version of the show when it plays on our local NPR station.
This was my first time seeing The Wits and I can't say enough about the show. Everyone was awesome! Go see this!
Fun, FUN, Fun!!! Had a blast watching my favorite band and one of my favorite characters from my fav show..LIVE doing their thing! A night to remember for surely :)
I had no idea what to expect when I got to Wits but everything was awesome. The Fitzgerald Theater is amazing inside and they had a great beer selection. Steven Yeun and his improv was hilarious and Motion City was fantastic as always. I'd go again in a heart beat!
First time at WITS. Really enjoyed the energy, humor, music and people.
I loved it! Wished we could have heard Jason sing more songs. I would come again!
Marc, Jason Isbell and Amanda were great. Wits at the Fitz was a fun filled night with music and comedy. Not a bad seat in the house.
Wits is great fun in Saint Paul. The audience sing along was my favorite part.
Great show. Andy was hilarious and Neko really rocked. John Moe had some funny skits and it was overall a good time!
The Fitzgerald is a great venue for this program. Loved the music and the comedy and can't wait to go back again.
Hilarious, great entertainment. I love Thao Nguyen's personality and music, and Maria Bamford is a truly great, funny comedian. My only beef is with logistics: - need more women's bathrooms in the theatre - "General admission" policy when you get your ticket is vague - don't list a seat number if it's general admission or at least have a detailed explanation on the ticket. - "Wits social club" seems pretty elitist.
I've been to several Wits shows, and this one was one of the best. Sean Tillman and David Cross were in fine form and even played off each other, something that doesn't happen at every Wits show (I'm looking at you, Kathleen Edwards . . . ). Now if I could just find a Tom Waits Does Math audiocassette . . .
Ok wish jim gaffigan had been able to do some standup
