Too expensive and too spread out. You pay to get in and then pay to do anything

    Great idea poorly execute

by TeamP on 12/16/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Great idea poorly executed, it either should have been free and then charged for everything inside or the tickets should have been a little more and younger kids charged entry fee and everything inside included. The circuit of lights was blah my kids were more excited to be on a real race track then the lights. The tunnel of lights was to short. The carnival rides that were over priced were front and center which made kids beg for them from the first moments of walking in. Save your money and go to Zilker and Mozart’s

    Waste of money and time

by Yaya878 on 12/15/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Avoid. Steep entry fee gets you nothing except a poor selection of food and gift vendors who are out of most things. Rides are overpriced and ride operators are rude and surly.

    Nice

by Dmg823 on 12/14/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

We went during the week and it was perfect. No lines for pics and no need to worry about anything else. I thought it was perfect for my 11 mth old. It wasn’t too big or too small. Employees were super friendly too.

I have four kids and they had a blast! There was a lot of cheer and even my husband and I enjoyed ourselves.

    We will be back!

by cajunairman on 12/14/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

It was amazing! There weren't any lines to wait on, the light shows were incredible. We actually didn't get to see all of it so we are headed back next week! There's a petting zoo, rides for both kids and adults, a giant movie playing, get your picture with Santa. My daughter's favorite things were these trees that sang right as you are coming into the property. Highly recommended all the way around.

WILL BE GOING TO THE TRAIL OF LIGHTS

by Stardays on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

It was not worth the ticket price at all. In the end felt like a waste of money. 2 stars because we enjoyed our family outing. We went and we don’t need to go again. Trail of lights is so much better. Kind of a waste of money but I guess we can say we did it. We will be going to the trail of lights to get our Christmas light fix in.

    disappointed

by AmandainAustin on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Paying an expensive ticket price to get in, and then you have to pay even more to do the rides??? Lame. Expensive food and drinks, too. And it was spread out over such a large area. Difficult for families with little ones and/or elderly family members. Finally, putting the live music stage at the very back, tucked away in a dark corner, was super duper lame. Nobody knew the music was there, and the crowds listening to the musicians were so small. Do better next year, COTA.

All Displays bought on sale at Home Depot

by Nopenopenopenopenopenope on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

I cannot believe COTA has the nerve to charge for this. They didn't even hire lights/decor experts. This "event" was a shoddy, slapped together display of the lights available to everyone at any Home Depot. There was zero creativity and nothing interesting, new or unusuall. Oh, and they charge extra (after the $16 entrance fee) to do anything and it was EMPTY. Do not believe the "sell out" hype on the website and do not pay for parking. This was a complete, dreary joke. My neighborhood has better light displays. The fact that COTA charged for this should be an embarrassment to COTA. DO NOT GO TO THIS. Note to COTA: Next year, HIRE EXPERTS. Do not think you can string up some crappy, years old light displays and think Austinites will pay to see it. We have seen electricity before. To recap: "Talking Trees" don't talk. They flash to pipe- in music. The "Ice rink" is made of plastic. The free "outside petting zoo" meant sticking your hand through a fence to pet a goat. Guess what, Austin has goats already! I feel like I paid to go to HEB. D'oh! Won't make that mistake again. (And as a nickname to my review, 'disappointed' and 'waste of time' were already taken.hahahaha)

    Waste of time and money

by suleimatx on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

This was nothing but a crappy carnival with christmas decoration around. It was not a trail of lights, nor a winter wonderland. Expected way more, huge waste of money and time.

Austin Trail of Lights so much better!

by LEW84 on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

They charge $16 entrance per person and also charge $3-$5 for almost everything you can do there, except for just walk around. The part that is included without additional cost is walking around to see the lights, and they are no where near as good as the Austin Trail of Lights which is only $3. Waste of money.

    Money, Money, Money

by reallysorryiwent on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Wonderland at the Circuit is just a way to make you pay money to come in and spend money. Waste of time and money. Nothing worth doing inside was free. It's simply a front to make money. No where near the ambience of Trail of Lights. Pay for ticket; pay for parking; pay high prices (and variable prices for the same items within the park) for food; pay for rides, displays. NOT AGAIN in my life!

    Not worth the $

by CiVega on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

First of all their lights display are trash!! I should’ve just stuck to the trail of lights now that has very wonderful lights! The famous tunnel is the dumbest thing ever the fact that you gotta walk a bit to get to it you literally go in for 1 min before you are at the end of it and gotta turn around to walk back the way you came in!! Everything is super expensive and not to mention you gotta pay for everything including petting zoo , train , rides, never saw the giant human globe of and yes they had movie on the lawn but nobody was Interested in it. Basically a waste of time there

    Winter Wonderland is a BLAST!

by 2boysandme on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

We had such a great time! The prices are reasonable and there was so much to do. One of my sons told me that this was his best night ever. We will definitely be back next year.

    Brand new tradition!

by Anonymous on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Our grandkids loved it, and so did the rest of our group! We will make it an annual family tradition.

    Not worth the money

by TrishaSer on 12/13/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

The lights were very pretty and it was nice to be able to see Santa but the rides are overpriced. For my family of 5 to ride the ferris wheel it was $25... And it went around twice. We spent over $200 for cocoa and 2 rides. Wouldn't it make more sense to charge a higher admission price and then allow people to have family fun once inside rather than nickel-and-diming them? We won't do it again next year and less significant changes are made.

Such great potential, but very disappointing

by DisappointedCOTAfan on 12/12/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

My family are big fans of COTA - we've had great concert experiences here, as well as have enjoyed the impressive racing events. But I have to say that the Winter Wonderland was the most disappointing display of lights and festivities that I have ever experienced. There is such amazing potential with this venue and its layout, to create robust lighting exhibits, experiences for adults and experiences for children. However, the layout was terrible and it felt like everything was just unloaded from trucks and left where it was. There was no clear organization between a petting zoo, port-a-potties, food trucks, bar carts, random lights and the "circuit lights". These areas need to be organized and clearly operated as individual experiences, rather than randomly laid out. And the lights were the most disappointing parts. The lights were few and far between and just hung up on the side of the race track protection fence. No story was told, nothing was clear - it was left to imagination. Lastly, it was highly understaffed and there was no clear direction for attendees. I love COTA, and I love the potential that it has. Please, next year, don't just throw this together - hire a team for operations and to build an experience.

    It's a carnival not a wonderland

by Zoran181 on 12/12/17Circuit of The Americas - Austin

Waste of time and money! Went for the trail and it ended up being a minimum effort display. It was so sad that it was still dark outside when everything was supposed to be lit up. On top of the entrance fee, you have to pay to do everything else. It's a carnival not a trail of lights. You don't have to pay extra for the trail, but it was a sad attempt at a trail anyway.
