Winnipeg Jets History
The Winnipeg Jets were founded in 1997 as the Thrashers, and began play in the 1999–2000 NHL season, spending 11 seasons in Atlanta and making the playoffs once in 2006-2007. In 2011, the franchise was sold to True North Sports and Entertainment, which relocated the team to Winnipeg and adopted the name of the city's original franchise in the World Hockey Association, the Jets.
Major league hockey dates back to 1972 in Winnipeg, which was home to one of the founding franchises of the WHA and one of four (along with Quebec, Hartford and Edmonton) to join the NHL when the leagues merged in 1979. The original Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and became the Phoenix Coyotes (now the Arizona Coyotes). In the 12 seasons that the Jets have been in Winnipeg, they’ve made six playoff appearances, including a run to the Western Conference Finals in 2018.
In 2016, the team established the Winnipeg Jets Hall of Fame, with the "Hot Line" trio of Anders Hedberg, Bobby Hull and Ulf Nilsson as the inaugural inductees. Recent inductees include Teemu Selänne and Teppo Numminen.

The crowd, the game, the vibe and the win! It was all great!
I had a fantastic time. The staff at the venue were excellent. Everything was perfect. I reccomend visiting Bell MTS Place.
Its a great time. Very chill, and a good deal for the price of tickets. I go every year.
Great start to the new season! Great seats, friendly helpful staff who made the Jets game fun. This Jets fan always loves coming home to watch our team kick butt. True North & the Jets never disappoint!!!
Attended the WhiteOut Party in the Family Friendly Zone. Awesome Expierence. It was a great evening. Only issue was the Water Trucks did not show up, so I couldn't refill my water bottle.
I highly recommend you spend your life savings for these tickets. Great time!
Great fan experience. Building great. Fans welcome visiting fans.
Tickets were easily obtained at the Will Call window, parking at the Library was a breeze. With a Jets WIN, it was a perfect Night!!!
Good sightlines of the rink in the lower bowl. A great variety of food available for purchase.
My husband and I (preds season tickets) wanted to go to an away and our schedules led us to Winnipeg for the last game of our regular season. Such a great experience. Their fans were so friendly and the arena was welcoming to visiting team fans!! Great food and great atmosphere!!
Great seats in section 103 row 5... as long as the play was either in the end where our seats were or across the ice as you could not see the play to your left along the boards through the glass. So watched much of the game on the screen.
Huge fan of the jets , it's just the seats are way too small and cramped.
This was one of the best arena's I have visited, but the seat I had was horrible! My ticket was bought through Jets presale code and for $160 you shouldn't have to look through a metal checkered barrier the whole game, the scoreboard was also obstructed. I was section 208, row one seat 11. I would go to this arena again based solely on the arena feel and passion of the fans, but would hope for better seats.
Not a bad seat in the house and the place was clean and rocked!
game was exciting to watch , Jets played well especially Tyler Myers..shutting down Ovehkin
First row ice level was a great experience. Loved seeing the players make those big hits.
This was my first time at the MTS center to see the Winnipeg Jets hockey. It was a great experience especially since I was from out of town.
Game was great! Lots of hits and plays! Go Jets Go!!
Great price for these quality seats ! Was a lot of fun, i would recommend if you ever go to Winnipeg !!!
Great arena and enthusiastic fans. Even though we sat in the top row of a corner, we felt very close to the action. Go Jets!
