    Greensboro Wine Festival

by Ash W on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The festival was fun overall; however, the vendors seemed to out number the wineries present which created longer lines. Would be nice to have more wineries present.

Signed up for the 1pm slot

by Andrew on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Signed up for the 1pm slot and didn’t get let in until 1:30pm. Long and slow lines for the wine vendors so not much wine to enjoy throughout the day. Thankfully the tickets weren’t too expensive…

    Review

by Teresa on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The wine lines were extremely too long. Too much wasted time to visit all vendors. If you wasted all your time in line waiting on wine tasting you were not able to visit other vendors nor make it to all wineries.

    Overall Great Experience

by BrianYoli7078 on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The experience at the wine and chocolate festival was great. Only debacle I encountered was the attendants did not allow entry until 20 minutes after the venue began and were swift to rush everyone out the door at 4pm, though the doors opened late.

    Home show

    by M. R. on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This should have been labeled a home show with wine tasting. There were way more booths selling everything from gutters to soaps, jewelry etc. The lines for wine tasting were ridiculously long. We waited in one line for 35 minutes and it NEVER moved. We wasted our money. Won't do it again. Big letdown!

    Wine and Chocolate Fest

    by T. C. on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

I was disappointed with the event. They were late letting people enter the venue and wasted even more time because they said they need to physically place the bands on each person's wrist before they could enter (although the person allowed patrons in the 2nd line to do it themselves). And the wine vendors quickly had long lines to wait in to sample the wines. Since that was the primary draw of the event, it was frustrating. Having other vendors there was nice and there was a good variety of merchandise. Not sure why it was named a Wine and Chocolate Fest though because we only received 3 small pieces of chocolate as part of the ticket price (which was too high for what we got). There was only one other vendor selling chocolate that I saw unless I missed anyone else. There were 5 of us in our group and we were all pretty disappointed with the event. Needless to say, it was a one-and-done experience.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

by Lisa Foster-Kodra on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The good part, a variety of wineries, local crafters, and local chocolatiers. I love supporting local businesses. I loved seeing a nice variety of businesses. And the chocolate bar was great, able to sample some chocolates. I will definitely visit that business in the future. The bad and ugly in one. When we arrived there was a long line and we went to the end and waited. Then others arrived after my group they went to the end then those at the door told those who arrived last to turn around and they could enter first. Not all scanned tickets were scannable. Some ticket takers said they had the wrong scanner. We were in line for 30 minutes, before we could get into the event and promptly at 4 pm the event closed. If one pays for 3 hours they should get 3 hours. And those who arrived last should not have been allowed to enter first. With paying $40 for the event, allowing to stay for the full amount of the time would have been appreciated. Would I come back? Yes. The concerns I mentioned can easily be fixed.

If I could give zero stars I would

by Mitchell on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

What would you expect after spending nearly $100 to attend a 3-hour Wine and Chocolate festival? A) FIVE pieces of chocolate on a paper napkin B) a 30 minute wait to enter the festival C) 10-50 minute waits at each wine station D) ALL OF THE ABOVE You guessed it, D!

    What chocolate?!?!

by Gmama on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The wines were not very good and the only chocolate was a nasty piece of cheap chocolate as you walked in the door. The vendors were average. Will not go back or recommend

    What a Waste!

by PW on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This was simply another show that asked you to pay $40 to walk around and look at booths completely unrelated to Wine or Chocolate. Gutter guard??? Cutting boards?? Only 2 chocolatiers and maybe a dozeb wineries were there among the 100 or so booths... Mostly just junk to buy. And the wineries represented weren't even the best ones in the region.

    More wine/chocolate less other vendors

by Jason on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

It was more like a bazaar than a fest. Lines were a bit much. They could do it a bit different. Tasting is fine but there should be a better flow.

    Wine festival experience

by Brian on 2/14/23Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Overall it was a fun experience and it was good to do once, but probably will not go back next year. You get to keep a wine glass which was nice. These are the smaller local wineries with sweeter wines. The downside was that the lines for the wine vendors would get very long and we stood in line for 30+ minutes at two separate vendors. There was only two chocolate vendors that I know of. Lots of people and long lines in a small area; only 2 people at each vendor giving the tastings.

    It was fine

by EDob on 2/17/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

There were some really nice wines. I liked that some booths offered a discount if you purchased there. I expected more chocolate. There was only 1 artisan chocolate table. I would have liked to see maybe cheese or other foods to pair with the wines.

    Wine festival

by Bigrob644 on 2/16/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This was my first experience to the Wine and Chocolate Festival and was able to experience it with my eldest daughter. She is the wine Connoisseur, me not so much. I thought the experience was great and she really enjoyed being able to try different wines from all of the vineyards that were represented there. I tried a couple of the wines that I enjoyed. We also enjoyed all of the different vendors that were there showing their products. Thank you for a great evening.

    Terrible. I won't go back.

by CaptainD on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

NOT very well organized. Lines too long, paid money to stand in line. NOT enjoyable. Not lined up correctly. Yes, I could do a better job. No map, no directions. The only thing that I liked was that you could leave your purchases and come back to get them. It enhanced the purchasing.

    Excellent Festival

by PJ on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

My husband loves wine and I love chocolate! I took him as a surprise! We had an excellent time! There were longer lines for the better wineries, so that gave me time to shop for more goodies while my husband waited patiently. We did think there was more variety of white and fruity wines than there was for merlots or dark reds. He was able to find a few that he really liked. I can’t complain about a thing other than the caramel corn I bought. They did not give samples and now I know why - it was horrible. I wouldn’t even give it to my kids or finish the bowl I poured for myself. Other than that - everything was wonderful! I was also pleasantly surprised that several jewelry vendors were there! I got two sterling silver rings that I adore!! Thank you for putting on a great night!!

    Disappointed

by Ree on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

This was my 3rd time attending the festival. I brought along 2 people who had never been and I felt really bad that they did not get to experience what I had in the past. Wine and Chocolate vendors were represented the least. The lines to try a wine was unbelievable because there was not a lot of options. Also, wine vendors in 2nd session packed up early and stopped serving. I honestly do not feel I got what I paid for this year. This was more of a generic vendor expo verses the focus on “Wine & Chocolate”. I understand we are still in a pandemic, but with less access to the “Wine & Chocolate”, the price and experience did not match. This year did not meet the expectations I had from my past experiences.

    Not What I Expected

by AF on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The venue was well laid out and organized but I don't think I expected there to be so much standing in line. It was more of an Expo than a festival. I sort of expected it to be outside maybe (it was a beautiful day) with live entertainment and more chocolate. There was really only one chocolate option and it was two free bites of chocolate samples. I did love the variety of wine vendors however but felt a little embarrassed and cheated that for $40, I invited my friends to drive over an hour to stand in long lines and listen to a very faint radio mix. (It was a decent mix, just very low) All of the vendors were very kind, patient and knowledgeable. I'll probably skip it next year though.

    Too Crowded

by Purple Reign on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

The lines for the wine tastings were WAY too long. Maybe spread out a bit. The vendors were great. Lots of need crafty things.

    Wine and chocolate tasting

by Kenjon1973 on 2/15/22Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Really nice event, was able to sample many wineries without traveling all over. This event is a mix of wine tastings and non wine vendors alike, more towards the non wine vendors. Yet a really nice event.
