It was my first time attending the wind and chocolate expo, and I absolutely loved it! Will definitely be back next year!
First of all, loved having the distilleries there --I'm not a huge fan of NC wine -- just too sweet for me. But would it have been possible to have other wine vendors there? It was poorly laid out, lines for alcohol booths interfered with walking traffic. I would have rather had fewer booths (it was downright weird to have builders and builder products and other non-wine and non-chocolate booths there...) and a more "orderly" way to enjoy the wine and chocolate booths. Again, I loved being able to sample the distillery offerings, so great addition. But I won't be back for the chaos. I'll just send a check to the charity.
There were many wine vendors there sharing many different types of mine, most from the state of North Carolina. There were only a few chocolate vendors, and most were only selling, not giving samples. If I am paying for a wine and chocolate tasting, i would expect to be able to sample wine AND chocolate. This sadly was not the case. This is the second year in a row that I have attended the event, but I doubt I will attend next year.
The Wine & Chocolate festival was fun but could have been better. I felt like there was a lack of chocolate tastings. We didn't feel like some of the vendors were appropriate for a Wine & Chocolate festival, like the home improvement vendors. We would have liked to see more wine related vendors that did glasses or tumblers or glass holders etc. It was unbearably warm in the room as well.
For the price, there was definitely not enough wine and food samples. I will not go back again.
Lines were very long, there were not enough wine vendors and definitely not enough chocolate vendors... like almost none. Was disappointed in the lack of chocolate. Also no water available which would have been a huge blessing especially for the designated drivers. I enjoyed the vendors that were there but probably won't attend again.
It was very crowded and long lines. There were also a lot of vendors there trying to seel things like home windows. There were only 3 chocolate vendors. The tasting lines were very long in comparison to other wine events I've attended. The venue itself is also very crowded and difficult parking.
It was ok. Little disappointing. Not what I thought it would be
