About

Willie Nelson is one of the most successful country music singer-songwriters in history, releasing 68 studio albums and 10 live albums. He wrote his first song at the age of seven and joined his first band at ten, playing concerts as a lead singer and guitar player while still in high school. He spent the ‘50s and ‘60s writing songs for established acts such as Ray Price and Patsy Cline, as well as releasing a string of albums on Liberty and RCA beginning with his debut …And Then I Wrote in 1962. In 1973, he signed to Atlantic Records and put out Shotgun Willie, which veered into outlaw country, a stark contrast from the mainstream Nashville sound and clean-cut country artists of the era. 1975’s Red Headed Stranger and 1978’s Stardust followed on Columbia Records, both garnering commercial and critical success. The ‘80s saw the release of No. 1 albums Honeysuckle Rose, Somewhere Over The Rainbow, Always on My Mind, and The Promiseland, as well as Nelson joining Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, and Kris Kristofferson in the country supergroup The Highwaymen, touring and releasing three studio albums between 1985 and 1995. Nelson continues to release a new album almost every year and delight ticket buyers in live shows to this day.

  • A very good event

by JDS on 7/7/25Germania Insurance Amphitheater - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

Well, might as well get the bad out of the way. The no back packs/fanny packs is ridiculous, especially for a 6-8hr event. At least 2 vendors were actually selling fanny packs but for some reason we were not allowed to wear one in. Vendors were not really handing out bags with purchases, so where are we supposed to carry all this stuff we are supposed to purchase?? Having said that, the event was very well done and entertaining. Fireworks were awesome. Not sure why the screens were not being used during Bob Dylan's performance. Would have been nice to have actually seen the guy. Parking was great... we were in D. Overall was a great experience.

  • Superb

by Jonny D on 7/7/25Germania Insurance Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Fabulous concert with music icons that have still got it after all these years. A night never to be forgotten.

  • Tower Club is a waste

by Aviad on 7/7/25Germania Insurance Amphitheater - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

the venue was really cool, the shows were really good, the food was really nice, we bought tickets to the tower club which features the shows on stage in the screens but WITHOUT sound ?!?! makes it really redundant.

  • Amazing line up and performances.

by Tim on 7/7/25Germania Insurance Amphitheater - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Amazing line up of performers and performances. Quick transitions between performances. Nice included parking. Efficient parking exit. Only suggestion would be less loud speakers and less bass. Willie and Lukas Nelson were fabulous.

  • Willie 25

by Raymond on 7/7/25Germania Insurance Amphitheater - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

Nice show. Bob Dylan brought his typical odd bastard attitude. The Mavericks were very impressive. They were the best musicians at the show. Avett Brothers were OK, I expected more from them. Willie and band were great. The best that I've seen from him in the last 5 years. Lukas Nelson appearing was a bonus. Loved Last Leaf On The Tree.

  • We Willie liked it!

by Truthfulmaka on 4/27/25Atrium Health Amphitheater - MaconRating: 5 out of 5

It was Willie a good time! Great to see such a legend! Willie and his son sounded great. The food there was good especially the mini bunt cakes yum!

  • Willie was too old to sing.

by Chris on 4/24/25Brandon Amphitheater - BrandonRating: 2 out of 5

Willie was too old to sing. He talked mostly songs. He was always completely out of breath. That's what smoking does to you. Had a lot of people walking out of the show but we say to the end which was only about 55 minutes long. A performer needs to know when it's time to hang its time to hang it up.

  • Good concert

    by Tanya22 on 4/22/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 4 out of 5

Willie put on a good concert. I am glad I good to see him. The venue was full and I did not understand them not having the screens down on either side of the stage. That would have made things much better. My daughter and I went and we had a fun time.

  • Willie was great but

by William on 4/21/25Atrium Health Amphitheater - MaconRating: 3 out of 5

The concessions are nasty too expensive and very unhealthy! The concessions I noticed are operated by unfriendly African Americans at an all white country music concert. I will not return.

  • WILLIE WAS GREAT!

by Amanda on 4/21/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

FIRST TIME @ VENUE, GREAT VENUE SET UP. I ONLY HAD ISSUES WITH THE CHAIR RENTAL. IT STATES YOU CAN GET CHAIRS AT THE EVENT ONLINE, BUT WHEN I WENT TO GET THEM AT THE EVENT, SHE SAID I HAD TO PRE-ORDER THEM THROUGH THE APP AND BC THE VENUE HAD STARTED, I COULD NOT RENT CHAIRS. BESIDES THAT, THE PRICES OF YALLS BEVERAGES & FOOD IS A BIT OVER THE TOP BUT I DONT DRINK AND I CAN EAT BEFOREHAND. GREAT TIME OTHERWISE. LOVE THAT YOU HAVE SEVERAL BATHROOMS.

  • finally seeing the legend

    by paulers88 on 4/20/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 4 out of 5

So cool to see the 91 year old legend perform live for the first time in my life. Certainly a bucket list event. I liked the venue other than not having video boards.

  • Premature ending.

by Susan on 4/20/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 3 out of 5

I love Willie Nelson, however the tickets were Way overpriced for the number of songs that He sang! When we pay a lot of money for a performance, he needs to give us our money’s worth. He did not play very many songs, that was a let down.

  • Great show. Catch Willie one last time

by Tinman on 4/20/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

Willie still has it!! He performed splendidly in a tight 90 minute set. Great warmup act of Tami Neilson.

  • Not great

by D. Hillman on 4/20/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 3 out of 5

Walk from parking lot about did me in before the concert. Handicap parking very limited. No close parking. Food was not very good and over price. Won't let you bring a chair, but had them and were allowed to use them. Couldn't see without standing up and even then it was difficult.

  • Great to see Willie Nelson

by Deedee on 4/18/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 4 out of 5

This venue has great sound. We loved seeing Willie and Micah Nelson. They didn't play long but for the price it was worth it. Food and drinks were a little pricey as they are at most concert venues. We were disappointed that we were not able to get chairs, they ran out. The Sound website was misleading, it said that chairs could be purchased once you are at the venue. This was our first experience here so next time we'll be better prepared.

  • Bucket list

by Penny on 4/18/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

This bucket list concert was amazing! At almost 92 he brought energy, guitar work and great voice to all my old favorites!

  • an oldies but a goodie

by Pamela on 4/18/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 4 out of 5

Willie is 91, and he is still able to remember his lyrics, and play his guitar! Speaking much of his songs but with his ensemble, including his son, we enjoyed the hour he played.

  • Beautiful venue and great crowd

by KB on 4/18/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

The sound amphitheater is an awesome outdoor venue with excellent facilities. The huge crowd was friendly and seemed that everyone loved seeing a legend. Remarkable that Willie can still tour at 91! The musicians were all excellent, especially his son that composed 2 of the songs and sounded a lot like his father! Only complaint was wifi quality while trying to pull up tickets. Good time!

  • My wife and I had a great time!

by Stump on 4/18/25The Sound Amphitheater - GautierRating: 5 out of 5

We stayed at an AirB&B and had a great little trip.
