    Poorly Organized

by JJS on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Entrance into the high school wrestling tournament was ~$40-$50. Parking was $30-$50 then the wait to get in was around an hour. The line stretched from the entrance all the way to the back of the dome. Then they wouldn’t allow drinks in. Waited 45 minutes in line for a $10 8oz coffee. Absolutely poor execution for a high school event. Friends and family have already traveled from all around the state to attend this event spending a lot of money traveling and for lodging in the area and then you’re going to charge this kind of money to attend it. Shameful to say the least!

    Great event until finals

by Kim on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Event seemed well run and had lots of staff. It moved well until the finals where it took forever to go through each weight class and stop everything for the metals before you move onto the next weight class. The kids are exhausted by then and so are the parents, there’s got to be a better way to do that and get people out of there earlier.

    Amazing but a burden

by Chance on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The experience was amazing everyone should try n go. Ticket prices are pretty great. But everything is so over priced. 5 dollars for 20oz drink. 15 dollars for r chicken strips and a couple of fries. Too expensive. At least make prices more reasonable or allow people to leave and bring back some food.

    Entry issues

by Mat on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Entry into the tournament on Friday was terrible. Very unorganized and most stood in line for up to 2 hours. This needs fixed for next year. Also, the cashless purchase system is ridiculous. Our country prints cash for a reason. Allow cash to be used to purchase tickets.

    Saving seats

by Jon on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

My only complaint is that upon entering the dome, all the good seats were ‘saved’ by folks who had access to the event before the general public. Keep in mind that I was the first person through the metal detector in the morning (I arrived 3 hours before the gates opened). This event didn’t technically have any assigned seating.

    Poor screening procedures

by Alex on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Entry for spectators was not started until 9:00 am for an event that started at 10:00 am. Trying to funnel 10,000 plus spectators through 6 metal detectors created an oblivious bottleneck for entry.

    The mat classic was great

by Ed on 2/19/24Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The entrance to done needs to open two hours before start time!!! If you have a wrestler in the lower weight classes and are far back in the line, you could miss the match!

    traffic management was TERRIBLE!

by oyp on 2/22/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Once inside the Tacoma Dome, staff were courteous and helpful. But it took more than an hour from freeway off-ramp to parking, then waiting in long lines to get inside. The Dome lots were full, and there were no signs directing cars to a FREE PARKING GARAGE about 2 blocks away! Instead, there were private signs out for $40 parking! The traffic access is some of the worst I've seen. It was so bad that some wrestlers abandoned their rides to run through traffic to the Dome so as not to miss their matches. That has the potential for accidents and lawsuits. The Dome is a great facility, but the traffic problem and lack of parking direction are ridiculous. It will be a long time before I even consider going there again, unless I take the train, which station is only a few blocks away.

    Can't see

    by D. B. on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I have been to Mat Classic many times. They changed the seating and mat assignments. The place was pretty packed and it was tough to find a seat in the area of our school. Also there were 2 mats for our school that were only half visible from our seats which was kind of disappointing. I would consider how the mat alignment is being done in relation to the side of the stadium that has a high drop off. It caused a lot of people to be standing at the front and then people couldn't see anything behind that. The side that has seats all the way to the ground can have mats closer to it. But the side that has seats only half way up will not be able to see if you put it too close to the wall.

    Backpacks

by Jon Brown Ask Me Again on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

To get into the Tacoma dome you have to have a clear backpack. There were quite a few backpacks in there that were not clear. I don't understand why you can't have a backpack and just have security check it before you go in just like most venues. I saw security checking clear vinyl backpacks if they're looking at those then I don't understand the difference.

    Exciting event!

by Beste on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

I think the mechanics of the event were well organized. I was there early to get a good parking place and a place to sit. I ate during non-peak times so very short lines and a great hot dog. I ordered a sweatshirt online so didn't stand in that looooooooong, slow line. I would rather pay a little more for a ticket and have reserved seating. I cannot say that all of the various team supporters were aware of others around them and ended up blocking views of others for their own celebrations.

    Wrestling Championship

by Ed on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

The tournament was fantastic. The opening of doors one hour before stinks. Should be two hours. This gives time to order shirt, which they are under staffed, and get seated, specially if the wrestlers you want to watch is one of the first.

    Great event…but the parking 🥴

by SWW Realtor on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Can the Tacoma dome get some traffic control for large events? People have no idea what the parking situation is but sit in lines for hour plus trying to figure out where to go. No one to direct and no signs until you are right at the dome.

I would not come again. This place needs a face-lift.

by Chris Hudson on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Parking cost outrageous. Kingdome needs a face-lift. Food prices for a family event was excessively high. Stadium seats were perfect and comfortable and spacious.

    Over priced

    by 50cal on 2/21/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

First it was crazy the prices you have to pay for parking. The price of the tickets was high considering once you got past the long wait to get through security and make it in the doors to finally use the restroom only to find there no toilet paper and no paper towels. That sucked!!! And not to mention searching the wrestlers bags like they are going through customs to make sure they don’t bring in any food just so the concessions can sell the $5 bottle water and the trash food that any wrestler watching their weight would never eat. Other than that the wrestling was phenomenal.

    WIAA MAT CLASSIC

by Rebecca on 2/20/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Ticket entry process was quick and simple. Cleanliness through out the event was not so great. Stadium seating were dirty and the bathrooms were not kept up no toilet paper, soap dispensers empty and no paper towels. Garbage cans were overflowing.

    WIAA

by Rich on 2/20/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Good event but the trophy presentations and 1st and 2nd place matches took forever. We as grandparents can't sit on these hard seats for 12 hrs.

    Very well organized Tournament.

by ME on 2/20/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Custom shirts was a very long wait. We spent alot of money, the company could have easily afforded more personel to help customers. Parking at the Tacoma Dome is terrible. I will never attempt that again. Park off site and Uber to the event.

Too crowded. No parking, no chairs.

by Kathy on 2/20/23Tacoma Dome - Tacoma

Yes, we arrived at 11:00 AM.. Tried to find seating as highly competitive lighter weights wound up. Same with parking. Stood and watched from railing, but as 'outsiders" grew bored. Our decision: to follow our favorites in hometown matches and read final decisions in Sunday/Monday TNT..
