About

Whitney - Queen of the Night is a touring tribute show honoring the music, life and legacy of the late Whitney Houston. Named after the swaggering hard rock single from The Bodyguard soundtrack, the show celebrates 30 years of hits sung by the superstar lovingly remembered as “The Voice,” from “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” and “Saving All My Love for You” to “How Will I Know,” “Greatest Love of All” and, of course, “I Will Always Love You.” After initially premiering on London’s West End, Whitney - Queen of the Night is set to hit the road across the United States and Great Britain for nearly 100 shows throughout 2024.

    Entertaining, with great backup singers

by Jeff on 4/2/24Steelhouse Omaha - Omaha

I accompanied my wife who is a huge Whitney fan. Our first trip to the new Steelhouse venue in Omaha. Great facility, easy parking and comfortable seating with relatively easy access. I loved the voices and the backup vocal dancers were incredibly flexible and fun to watch. Negatives for me were the frequent ingress and egress of folks. in my row. We had to exit to let them in and then return. It happened during the most romantic songs and definitely a mood killer. My other issue was with the bass and drum which were reverberating through me and drowning out the sax and some of the background singers. We were in row 6 so pretty close, but its a pet peeve when the base rumbles right through me. I am not of of those folks who enjoys those rumbling speakers in my car

    Not impressed

by deb on 4/1/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - Minneapolis

The venue itself is fine - I like that there is a bar experience upstairs for those sitting on that level. The concert itself wasn't terrific in my opinion. It would have been nice to see some photos or video clips of Whitney up on a screen at times, in back of the band, some moving (or non-moving) graphics. Her back-up dancers were more of a distraction for me than an enhancement to the experience.

    Good show

This was a really nice show. The lead singer and the band were amazing. the backup singers/dancers needed a little more work.

    Good, not great

by Jaxjo on 3/30/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - Minneapolis

This tribute band is based out of the UK, which was interesting… the two background singers/dancers were performing like the rent was DUE! And provided many comical moments, albeit unintentionally 😳😂 The singer herself was good, could hold a tune, but one could tell that she was a more “classically trained” singer, and left a bit to be desired. Band was a solid 7 out if 10. Again, overall good, but not great 🫤

    A dedication to Whitney?

by St. Paul Native on 3/30/24Uptown Theater Minneapolis - Minneapolis

Love, love, love Uptown Theatre! However, was this truly a dedication to Whitney Houston!? I don’t know how much effort was put into the wardrobe, stage presence, and the background singers. The lead vocalist had a great voice but I felt like I was at a show that would be offered for free on a cruise. I wasn’t sure if the background singers were dancing or doing a kickboxing workout class.

    Lack of traffic flow

by Ree on 3/27/24House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

We live 20 from allstate arena on a no traffic day. Left at 5:45 with ample time until arriving at the exit . The flow of traffic into the Allstate Arena was not flowing well and backing up all of the traffic coming off of that exit at Touhy Avenue ( 294) . Once in the parking lot it was extremely difficult to park and therefore it took close to 2 hours from the time we left the house. We arrived at 8 o’clock in our seats and a total waste of time and missed the Rock- Dwayne Johnson. We took my son who has a disability because this was his Christmas present and I was extremely upset that we arrived so late because of disorganization with parking etc..

    Overall decent

by Maria on 3/25/24The Fillmore Detroit - Detroit

We saw the show at The Fillmore, Detroit. The night started with standing outside in 30 degrees temps longer than we should have. Tickets/site listed event time at 7pm. When we got there (a little after 6pm), we were told event time is at 8pm and doors open at 7pm. Everyone else arriving was also surprised/irritated/mad. Horrible way to start the evening! The venue has no elevators. We were told ADA accomodations could be made on the first floor. However, there are a multitude of people who don't necessarily need ADA accomodations, but an elevator would have been convenient/beneficial. A couple staff members were unable to assist when asked about our seats being in the loge level. As for the actual show, it was good overall. When the lead singer was good, she was gooood. Some songs were variations of Whitney originals; rhythm and timing was different. Not a fan of those. Band was also good. By far, the worst part of the show were the backup singers/dancers. Their outfits and very mediocre 'dance' moves were a combination of 80s pop and stripper. They sang a couple songs by themselves, which were awful. They added nothing to the show. Actually, I feel like they detracted from it.

My wife & I saw the show on Wed. 3/20 in Indianapolis

by Ron on 3/23/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The lead singer, band and two dancers were quite good and the selection of songs was really good. The only thing that I thought might use improvement was the quality of the sound system, for example the mid-range and higher notes were not particularly clear as the bass overpowered them to some extent. All in all it was a nice performance.

    Terrible

Band was fabulous, Whitney imitation just ok, back up singers/dancers terrible. Find Belinda Davis who does an absolute perfect tribute to Whitney. Will not cannot recommend this concert.

    Whitney Houston Review

by J9 on 3/23/24Old National Centre - Indianapolis

The gal who sang Whitney Houston songs was phenomenal! The 2 dancers were equally as good. It was the sound guys that fell short of getting a good review. You know the sound is jacked up too high when you can feel STRONG vibrations in your chest. Also, “Whitney’s” microphone crackled all evening long. Periodically we saw her trying to adjust her ear piece. One word to describe this concert…. Terrible!!!!!

    Interesting

by TM on 3/21/24Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

I thought the band and lead singer did an excellent job. The two lady dancers, backup singers were not my favorite especially Amanda. The dancing style did not go with Whitney.

    Distraction Squared

by DragonMaster on 3/21/24Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

While the lead singer was very good, the antics of the backup singers were a big distraction. Their attempts at synchronized “dancing” with provocative movements and hand gestures dampened the overall performance. One of the singers kept flipping her red hair with head movements and over-the-top hip gyrations that deterred the enjoyment of the show. The band was very good with special emphasis on the sax player who was awesome. Perhaps a little more of the songs that made Whitney Houston the star she was would have also made this a better show as well.

    Disappointing Show

by 70s and 80s Music Lover on 3/20/24Taft Theatre - Cincinnati

My wife and left after 45 minutes….sounded nothing like Whitney Houston. Of course, nobody can compare to Whitney, but this act wasn’t even close.

    Overall great show

by Mom of 3 on 3/19/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

We really enjoyed ourselves. The lead singer was phenomenal. Music choices were great. Band was amazing. The only issue we had was the backup dancers. We didn't feel like they were very family friendly and made us uncomfortable at times.
