Whitney Cummings on Tour

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series "Whitney," she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls."

In November of this year, Whitney launched her own podcast titled "Good For You." Whitney has a lot of questions for a lot of different kinds of people. She also has opinions. And a robot. "Good For You" is self-produced by Whitney alongside Made By Super and records in Los Angeles. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Whitney debuted her 4th stand up special, "Can I Touch It?" on Netflix on July 30th. The special includes Whitney's signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics is more relevant than ever. Filmed at the Sidney Harmon Hall in her hometown, Washington, DC. The special touches Whitney's take on everything including her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics and why we should give sex robots a chance.

Up next, Whitney will star and executive produce a new half-hour comedy for Amazon, "Good People" which she co-created alongside Lee Daniels. The show revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman's office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sec, race, class and gender.

In October 2017, Whitney debuted her novel "I'm Fine...And Other Lies," which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty. That same year, Whitney made her directorial debut with the feature adaptation of Louann Brizendine's best-seller, "The Female Brain". In addition to co-writing and directing, she stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. "The Female Brain" comically details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in "Unforgettable" for Warner Bros. Past feature film credits include "The Wedding Ringer," "Made of Honor," and "The Ridiculous Six." Whitney has appeared in such series as "Undateable," "Workaholics," "Maron" and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

Her first one-hour stand up special, "Money Shot," premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award. Her second one-hour stand-up special, "Whitney Cummings: I Love You," debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. Her third one-hour stand-up special "I'm Your Girlfriend," aired on HBO in 2016.

  • Whitney Cummings brought the goods.

by Ruben Daniel on 9/10/24713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Whitney live and she absolutely destroyed. It was nonstop laughter covering a variety of topics, interacting with the crowd. After the show she stayed on stage and did selfies with the audience. She was great.

  • Disappointing Stand-Up Experience – Not Worth the Price

by PL on 9/10/24713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

I was really excited to see Whitney Cummings perform, but unfortunately, the night was a huge letdown. First off, the show started 30 minutes late with no explanation or apology. By the time things finally got underway, the two comedians who opened for Cummings were just horrendous. Their material fell flat, and they spent the entire time speaking to a dead audience that wasn’t interested, making it painfully awkward. It felt like everyone was just waiting for them to wrap up. By the time Whitney took the stage, the energy in the room was already at an all-time low. She had some funny moments, but the damage was done – the overall vibe was dull, and it was hard to fully enjoy her set. For $80, I felt like I was paying for two hours of boredom with just a few scattered laughs thrown in. If you're considering attending, I’d say save your money unless you want to sit through the longest, most uninspired warm-up acts ever. Definitely not worth the price tag. Rating: 2/5

  • Good headliner, poor opening acts

    by Dallas_Reviewer on 9/9/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

Whitney Cummings delivered a great performance. However, her choice of lack luster opening acts was a distraction to an overall great performance. Would have preferred to have shortened the whole event and just had her perform instead.

  • Whitney was great, crowd was rough

by Dallas on 9/8/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Great comedy show. Whitney and her openers were hilarious! But the shouting from the people behind us was obnoxious. Several groups sat in the seats behind us, and don’t think people were sitting in assigned seats. It felt like a bar setting in an auditorium. I know it’s a comedy show and people will laugh, but there were some that overdid it and affected the experience. There was no one monitoring the more boisterous folks.

  • Whitney rocks

by JFA on 9/8/24Majestic Theatre Dallas - DallasRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the show - The Majestic is a great venue - Whitney rocked it in her routine - Only portion I thought was not is when she started on conspiracy theories and got the audience involved - This is Texas and too many folks who dwell on that stuff. Overall a good time and look forward to her return and going to the Majestic again!

  • Whitney Cummings at Uptown was a blast!

by SHERSTARK on 8/13/24Uptown Theater - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

I had no idea Whitney was that funny. I have always been a fan of 2 Broke Girls but to see her live was great. She seemed like someone my girlfriends and I would hang out with. The Uptown, as usual, is a great place to see any event. Really had a great time and enjoyed myself!

Whitney is lovely, bright and one of the best of her generation. Her light continues to shine brightly! W, thank you very much for coming north to the City, once again, to surprise and draw us in with your delivery, sparkle and wit! Love, Lynton (Sitting one row back from the center!)

Whitney was even better in person than on her comedy specials on television. Just amazing and beautiful. Her openers were fantastic. Would highly recommend if you have an opportunity, see Whitney live!

  • Disappointed

by Jesse Bones on 6/3/24Beau Rivage Theatre - BiloxiRating: 1 out of 5

To say her opening act blew her out of the water is an understatement. I don't think I've ever laughed so little at a comedian in a live setting as I did for Whitney's whole set .

  • Whitney, please take my money

by JoeM on 6/3/24Beau Rivage Theatre - BiloxiRating: 5 out of 5

Whitney is the best. I'm so glad that live comedy is back. LA plastic surgery was so funny.

  • Go Whitney!

by Michelle on 6/20/23Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

Whitney Cummings was great and her opener was also very funny. Both sets were a good length. Soundboard is a good place to see a comedy show. I would recommend seats in the 200 level, the rest of the seats are not stadium style. Level 100 is flat and hard to see. Restrooms are very nice.
