Whitney Cummings on Tour

Whitney Cummings is a Los Angeles-based comedian, actor, writer, producer and director. Best known for creating and starring in the NBC series "Whitney," she also co-created and co-wrote (with Michael Patrick King) the Emmy-nominated CBS comedy series "2 Broke Girls."

In November of this year, Whitney launched her own podcast titled "Good For You." Whitney has a lot of questions for a lot of different kinds of people. She also has opinions. And a robot. "Good For You" is self-produced by Whitney alongside Made By Super and records in Los Angeles. New episodes are released on Wednesdays.

Whitney debuted her 4th stand up special, "Can I Touch It?" on Netflix on July 30th. The special includes Whitney's signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics is more relevant than ever. Filmed at the Sidney Harmon Hall in her hometown, Washington, DC. The special touches Whitney's take on everything including her signature incisive commentary on gender dynamics and why we should give sex robots a chance.

Up next, Whitney will star and executive produce a new half-hour comedy for Amazon, "Good People" which she co-created alongside Lee Daniels. The show revolves around three generations of women working in the ombudsman's office of a college that navigates the current cultural climate, the concept of feminism across different generations, and the struggle to reconcile socially constructed ideas with current ethical views regarding complex issues such as sec, race, class and gender.

In October 2017, Whitney debuted her novel "I'm Fine...And Other Lies," which details her brutal anxiety and codependency disorder, written with her trademark entertaining wit, humor, and honesty. That same year, Whitney made her directorial debut with the feature adaptation of Louann Brizendine's best-seller, "The Female Brain". In addition to co-writing and directing, she stars alongside Sofia Vergara, James Marsden, Lucy Punch, Toby Kebbell, Cecily Strong, Beanie Feldstein, and Blake Griffin. "The Female Brain" comically details the inner workings and complex power of brain chemistry among couples at different stages of their relationships. The film premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and was distributed by IFC.

On the big screen, Whitney was last seen in "Unforgettable" for Warner Bros. Past feature film credits include "The Wedding Ringer," "Made of Honor," and "The Ridiculous Six." Whitney has appeared in such series as "Undateable," "Workaholics," "Maron" and the Comedy Central Roasts, which have solidified her presence in comedy television.

Her first one-hour stand up special, "Money Shot," premiered on Comedy Central in August 2010 and was nominated for an American Comedy Award. Her second one-hour stand-up special, "Whitney Cummings: I Love You," debuted on Comedy Central in June 2014. Her third one-hour stand-up special "I'm Your Girlfriend," aired on HBO in 2016.

  • Great evening

by Barb on 10/21/24The Chicago Theatre - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The two opening acts were funny. Whitney came out ready to go. My group of friends were laughing non-stop. And unexpected ending was Whitney saying she would take selfies with anyone after the show. I was doubtful but she came back on stage and told everyone to start snapping selfies. Wonderfully accommodating and the openers even came out for any selfies.

  • Night of laughter

by Pleased on 10/16/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 5 out of 5

Had a rough start to my day and a great ending thanks to Whitney Cummings. She was very funny and had great interactions with the audience.

  • Not very impressed

by Big O on 10/15/24Sound Waves at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City - Atlantic CityRating: 3 out of 5

First off I thought the show was a little pricey to begin with $225 for two tickets lower level. When we arrived we were seated in folding chairs that were very uncomfortable to say the least. The show itself was average. The two opening acts were horrible. Whitney was pretty good. Problem being she was not on stage very long then cut show short for pictures. Well I didn’t pay to have my picture taken I paid to be entertained and laugh. Bottom line I was disappointed

  • Whitney Was great

by Sandpup on 10/14/24Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 4 out of 5

I have watched Whitney Cummings for a long time and this was my first chance to see her perform live. She was exactly what I expected, however, her openers needed help. The first opener was a male that apparently did not know his audience AT ALL. In short, his bombing was palpable with his nervous spurts of laughter. The second opener was a female that did better reading the room, and looks like they will grow with more experience. Great show Whitney. Don't stop your work and helping others get their careers off the ground.

  • Excellent Experience

by from Maryland on 10/14/24Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

Purchased inexpensive underground parking for Warner Theater, with elevator right to indoor theater entrance, total breeze to check in and leave. Warner Theater is beautiful and nostalgic, very nice venue. Whitney Cummings brought her talent and comedy to perform a great set. Her audience engagement is hilarious. Her two opening acts were great.

  • Awesome stand-up

  • Whitney Has Found her Voice

by NorthStar on 10/14/24Warner Theatre - WashingtonRating: 5 out of 5

I attend stand-up comedy shows regularly. I also have been a long-time fan of Whitney Cummings having attended an episode of her sitcom in person many years ago. I always have found her to be funny but her latest show is nothing short of brilliant. She seems to have worked through many of the insecurities that formed the basis of her humor in the past. The new Whitney is confident, outspoken and funnier than ever. Her routine, which lasted over an hour, was tight and well-paced. She interacted with the audience often in a good natured and hilarious fashion. I assume this tour will end up on Netflix, Amazon or one of the other streaming services. If so, I will watch it again and urge everyone to do so.

  • Whitney was amazing

Loved Whitney & Steven & Ian. Whitney’s set was hysterical. Did not need the extra time with Bethany or the singing.

  • A Whitney Fan

by Brooke on 10/1/24Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

Her set was great - she was excellent But her openers were not polished enough And the ending part that was unscripted with Bethany Frankel and the Rent songs was a complete waste of everyone’s time - she should cut that part if she wants to end on a high not a low

  • Disappointed

by Kerry on 10/1/24Beacon Theatre - New YorkRating: 2 out of 5

I am a big Whitney Cummings fan, have watched all of her specials, her tv show WHITNEY and 2 Broke Girls. I also listen to her podcast. I was really looking forward to seeing her live for the first time. The opening acts were just ok, not terrible, but not exactly good either. Did love that she is helping Grace O'Malley get her live Stand Up career going, really cool way to give back. And I never go to a show expecting the opener(s) to wow me, so that wasn't a deal breaker. Whitney came out, and the first part of her show was fine, what I came to see. Wasn't her best, wasn't her worst, but acceptable. But then, it went downhill, in a major way. She cut her set shorter than I would have expected and brought Betheny Frankel out on stage for some weird Q & A thing. People began streaming out of the theater, it wasn't what anyone came to see, and for the most part it wasn't even funny. Some people were loudly booing (I thought that was very rude) I stayed because she did say there would be a second surprise. I thought maybe the 2nd surprise would make the Betheny Frankel thing make sense. It didn't. She then brought out some Broadway singer to help her lead a sing a long for some of the songs from the Broadway show "RENT". Even more people started leaving. I stayed for a little bit, but then, I too left. By the time I left (was sitting in the loge) there were only about 10-20 people left up there. I am a big fan of Stand-Up Comedy and regularly go to see live shows. This was, by far, the most disappointing one I have seen. She kept saying performing at The Beacon Theater was a life-long dream of hers, well, that was a really strange way to show it. I was just so disappointed. I appreciate people taking risks in their shows to keep things fresh, but this one just didn't pan out. If this is how this whole tour is set up, I would recommend skipping it and saving your money. Just not something I think most Stand-Up fans will enjoy. I still love Whitney, and will definitely continue to support her. Just didn't care for this one.

Absolutely phenomenal! So much energy has such a presence on stage. I wish you would go longer than an hour. This is one of the best venues in Houston to see a comedy show. Absolutely love attending 713 music hall.
