    Disappointing

by dog lover on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The show this year was at a beautiful venue. However it was very difficult to see everything without changing inside to outside then vice versa. Most importantly there was no benching which I really miss. The food was not good, the US Open has much better food. It seems they do not public to attend, just the owners and handlers. Not very public friendly.

Great venue but more “people” food choices please

by CelH on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

I went the second evening, and food choices were minimal. I was expecting Arthur Ashe stadium to be full of dining choices. Dog show was 5 stars of pure excellence!!!

    always a great event

by Sparky on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The Westminster Show is a chance to see the best dogs in the land and it's always a good time. This years venue was not spectator friendly however, requiring sitting in the hot sun for long hours to watch some of the groups. Should there have been shaded spectator areas it would have been the perfect venue.

    Excellent venue and experience

by TT Owner on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The show was well organized, and the venue supported all the activities, from individual breed judging to on-site dining to the finale in the central court arena. Unfortunately, handicap accessibility was limited in some areas, especially the outside rings, and that is a significant negative. However, the venue must improve that that for all its attendees. I heard many people commenting that overall, the stadium was a huge improvement over Madison Square Garden and other settings where the Westminster show has previously been held.

Lovely venue, well staffed and run

by Golden Girl on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

BJK Center was great venue with good hotels nearby. Parking at the site and the shuttles were efficient. As far as tickets go - there should be one ticket per day. Separating Group General Admission from the breeds was not necessary. Stadium was nearly empty in the evening.

    Overall a Great Experience

by Merry Terrier on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

This was my second, and my husband’s first time attending Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. It was our first time as exhibitors. Overall, it’s a beautiful venue, and the show worked hard to accommodate the exhibitors and spectators. The shuttle buses were a blessing. Once we parked our car, we didn’t use it again until leaving. The venue was easy to navigate, and had beautiful, outdoor areas to relax and eat. My complaints are minor, but the seating for rings 1-4 were out in the sun, with no access to shade, or cover for rain. The weather stayed pretty mild, but I can see where it would become a problem. I believe there should be more food choices. Everything was pre-packaged except the pizza. My biggest complaint is the price of admission, particularly the first night. The building was pretty empty, and I’m sure the optics were bad on National TV. Partway through the first night, they were giving away tickets to the better seats, to fill up the arena. I think more people would attend if they weren’t so pricey to begin with. But, overall, our experience was very positive.

    Wonderful venue, even better event

by Gen on 5/11/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

I am so thrilled WKC was back in NYC this year. The National Tennis Center was an excellent choice of venue and I hope the show returns to this location if they cannot get back to the Garden. Well organized event.

    Loved the dogs but

by Bro on 5/10/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Went with three friends. Loved the agility and dock diving. So much fun!!!! The breed judging and groom tent were fun and electric. And of course Best in Show did not disappoint. But after being there for 3 days, the food was boring and very expensive. Please. Offer other healthy choices! Hot dog. Pizza. Ugh. The arena was nice but as we had general seating, we could not understand the speaker because of the echo. I mean we understood nothing. Cheap seats deserve to hear too. Finally, the store ran out of merchandise!!!!! AKC should know in 147 years, how much product to have on hand. We had a great time and now some bragging rights 😉

    Outrageous pricing

by Pokey on 5/10/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Pricing is rediculous! 2 tkts to all events pre COVID was about $250. Now it's around $800!! Way, way too much. Seats were half empty for group and best of show. MSG used to be packed! Parking $60?? Crazy! I've been attending for decades... Never again at these prices. Shameful! No where to go between day and evening sessions and food venues were overpriced, sparce and offered little choice. McDonald's has more variety. Weather was good, so outdoor rings were OK, but sun in your eyes makes it hard to properly view the dogs. What if it had rained?? Find a venue with stadium seating so all rings are together indoors like it was at MSG. Bring back benching. I realize the number of breeds makes this difficult, but maybe break it into 3 days or figure something out. You will lose your spectators and hurt the breeders if you don't keep spectator interest. Heard from some exhibitors that they didn't love it either. Gave it 3 stars because I love seeing the dogs and the venue wasn't crowded, but overall, it just ain't what she used to be.

    Love the dog show!!!!

by Lynn G on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Westminster Kennel Club does an incredible job. I did prefer it in Manhattan at the Piers and MSG. Hope it returns there. It was just inconvenient for us.

    The good, bad & ugly

by Eve on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Good-loads of clean restrooms. Loved the Ashe stadium. Why not use the other stadium bcuz rinks 1-6 were too small! Bad-needed information booth. Music too loud for humans & dogs especially on Saturday. Double the number of rink photographers. It held up judging for the next breed a lot! Ugly-limited concession stands, long lines. Only 1 concession stand open in the morning with limited food options until some more opened at 11am!

    Awesome Doggy Day

by Makeup Guru on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The day was fun and sun filled! The Water diving was amazing! First time seeing something like this. The dog races were amazing. The agility of some of these small breeds was astonishing! As a true dog lover, it was an amazing experience seeing the different breeds. Having just lost my daschund after 17 years, this day restored my soul and love of animals!

    Spectacular Show

by Ameraz on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

It was my first time seeing Westminster Dog Show Agility finals. Loved every minute of it! Organization, venue, seats - all were great. My son had a chance to take pictures with one of the dogs, Phoebe. We had such an amazing time!

Better than the past but still room for improvement

by Dog Lover on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Moving the Dog Show Agility Competition to the Billie Jean Tennis Center in Queens had many advantages. The space available for new competitions like Dock Jumping and demonstrations was excellent - lots of places to sit outside on a beautiful day. However, there was no guide or schedule of evens so things were easy to miss. The seating inside the Arthur Ashe stadium was plentiful. So many more people could be accommodated than previously. However, the numerous interruptions of the event for commercials by sponsors was very bothersome, annoying, and distracting. A word about parking facilities: horrific. No signage directing you to lots, and competition for spaces from baseball fans at nearby Citi Field. . The event itself is always very appealing - a lot of fun. But we probably won’t go back in the future. We preferred the use of NYC piers for this event. Much more accessible.

    Awful experience for the attendees

    by N. G. on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Parking was far away, vendors were unprepared for the amount of people and ran out of food; no timetables, no maps, couldn't find events, speakers at events in main stadium had no microphones so they couldn't be heard. It was a disaster all around (maybe except for the dogs)

    Awful

    by N. G. on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Totally mismanaged or unmanaged. No maps to tell you where things were, no timetables for specific activities, no microphones so presenters could not be heard, ran out of food. Pretty sad event

    Good and bad

by Anne on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Dogs were great. Venue not so much. USTA event staff were awful. They didn’t know where anything was (agility, obedience, shuttle location, etc). The NYC police demo on center court did not have microphones. Couldn’t hear what the police officer was saying. Disappointing. Also, the scores from the 24” agility prelims were not posted. Only two restaurants (on the outside) and a snack spot (inside) were open. Limited food choices. Long lines. Heard that the dog show will be here in the future. Hopefully, improvements will be made.

Disappointment at Westminster at Arthur Ashe Stadium

by Joy on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

I was disappointed in how few breeds were at the Meet the Breeds section. Many of the even very few stations were vacant. There may have been only 12 or so breeds. It was lot of time and money to see an agility and diving shows and so few breeds.

    Saturday Celebration of the Dog

by Laura on 5/9/23Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Great improvement in the venue! Much more spectator space making it easier to view the competition and events. Would like to have seen more dogs at the Metet the Breed event. There was very limited options for food
