About

Webbie is a rapper from Louisiana who penned the single "Gimme That," featuring Bun B, and also had two tracks highlighted on the soundtrack for "Hustle & Flow." The rapper has also released a series of albums under the title "Savage Life" and collaborated with emcee Lil Boosie on the record "Gangsta Musik." After spending time on the road opening for various acts, Webbie has since taken a break from a full-time tour where he now focuses on the occasional concert, including his recent release party for Savage Life 4. Tickets to see Webbie live are popular for parties and other events where fans gravitate to hear hits hits "Gimme That", "Bad Bitch", "Swerve" and "Independent." Webbie released the fourth studio album in his Savage Life series in 2013 with the lead single "What I Do." The first of the series, Savage Life was released in 2005 and debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard 200. In 2008, Webbie released his most successful song to-date, "Independent", featuring friends Boosie and Lil Phat. In 2010, he released an independent biopic called "Ghetto Stories," which portrays his and Lil Boosie's difficult upbringing.

Webbie was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. His mother passed away at a young age and he had some trouble with the law yet writing rhymes was a way for Webbie to stay away from prison or good and solidify his promising career. Webbie helped make the independent label Trill Entertainment a success story after it was signed for a distribution deal at Asylum Records. He is influenced by Master P, Geto Boys and UGK. The Southern rapper helped pave the way for a number of new acts including Lil Wayne and Pitbull with a trademark 'dirty south' sound and attitude.
