  • Loved it

by Milhone on 10/29/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Great show. The Killer Queen seemed a little weak - but I think that the understudy was filling in - however, they didn't seem to make that announcement. Otherwise, well cast, great voices and entertaining.

  • Second time I've seen show & plan to go again!

by ILLRox on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

The first time I saw this show was 8 years ago in Vegas, and I've been waiting for it to come around again. I never thought it would take 8 years! The Vegas performers were more talented than the Chicago group, and there were more special effects 8 years ago, but still it is an unforgettable show. If you are not a Queen fan, you will be after seeing this show! I plan to go see it again in March when it comes to St. Louis.

  • We Will Rock You Didn't "Rock" Us

    by Hoosiermom7 on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

We attended the performance last Friday evening. It was an okay musical. The singing voices were superb, but the storyline was lacking for me. I would recommend so many other musicals over this one, but am glad I have the opportunity to attend live Broadway theater performances from time to time.

  • Ridiculous, but amazing!

    by Osito84 on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

When the show started, I could see right away how ridiculous the plot was going to be. However, Queen's music is about having a good time, and that's exactly what I had. The story, while ridiculous, allowed the performers to have fun on stage while belting out some great tunes. In turn, I found myself laughing at almost every moment that I was not singing along with the songs! This was a fun experience that I would recommend to anyone who loves musicals, but especially loves QUEEN!

  • Better than the original

by mrhistoryteacher on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I saw this show at the Dominion Theatre in London this Spring and was completely entertained by the production. It was easy to see that after an 11 year + run the cast, crew, and production were hitting on all cylinders. So when I heard that there was going to be an American tour I was excited to see the show again, albeit a little reluctant because I didn't want a bad performance or scaled down version to ruin a very pleasant memory for me of the original. The Chicago show was in no way an inferior performance. To a person every principal character sounded as good if not better than the London cast. And Ryan Knowles stole the show both with his portrayal of Buddy and his singing. The plot is camp and you know that going in so you get what you expect, but for pure entertainment is was a great evening of fantastic singing of some of the best rock music ever.

  • Disappointing

by NMThompson on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 1 out of 5

The storyline was corny and dimwitted. The background vocals drowned out the lead performer.

  • A MUSICAL LIKE NO OTHER!

    by QueenG4 on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

It is a love story, sci-fi, comedy and rock concert all in one! Amazing band, cast and concept. Would see it over and over!

  • Rock Operetta

    by FANTASY45 on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Music was very good played by an excellent backstage band. Lead actor not believable as leader of the rebirth of rock music. He frequently would shriek his lyrics to overcome the music. Supporting actors/singers were uniformly good. Storyline outdated and not engaging for the audience. High intensity lighting frequently directed at the audience-uncomfortable for viewing. Actor who played burned out hippie had an excellent voice but overacted.

  • We Will Rock You was amazing

    by Kris1091 on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen this musical performed at a community theatre and I was so excited to hear the musical is getting more popular. The community theatre hardly had money for a set so it was really exciting seeing the set made at Cadillac. The band was amazing and the lights were perfect. I love how the script added more up to date inside jokes, such as the Miley Cyrus twerking. (That was such a great idea.) The actors were amazing and really got the crowd singing and clapping along. It was so much fun!

We Will Rock You (Chicago) was a disappointment. It mainly had to do with their sound system. When an actor's voice doesn't get heard until the third or fourth word, that isn't right, they had songs where the band was too loud and you couldn't hear the singing. The story is fine, but they really need to work on the sound system, this is Broadway, not a high school play!

  • Great show!

by mbrauns on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

Not what I expected, but loved it. Payed homage to all the great stars, which I was only expecting a Queen tribute so it was a plus. The only negative thing I'd have to say is both my date & I were not fans of choice of actress for The Killer Queen role. She was just "ok" compared to the others. Overall, great experience though! Would go again.

Me and my husband also took our 10 year old daughter who has been hearing Queen music in our household frequently. Not only us but she loved it too. I think the plot is very beneficial for our kids who spend more time with "real" FB friends and computer games. Music was awesome.

  • We Will Rock You is electrifying

by MamaMoggie on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

This is the tenth time I've seen We Will Rock You. but the first time in the US. The music of Queen is timeless and the story line even more true today. I can't wait to see the show again!

Biggest waste of $90!!! Took 2 hours of the dumbest story line to finally hear Queen songs. Don't waste your time or $

  • We will Rock You is a MUST SEE!

  • WE Will, WE Will Rock YOU!!!

by Chiculture on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Saw this in LOndon last year and it was just fantastic. ( since then they have updated the story with current music events) The story about the outlawing of any kind of music played on instruments, and " Globalsoft" controlling all the things people hear and do, at some date in the future of course........with 29 Queen songs. What a blast! Would definitely recommend. FUN!!

  • Super Fun!

by ChicagoLG on 10/28/13Cadillac Palace - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

I wasn't sure what to expect with this show since I was not a huge fan of some of the other musicals based on artists or genres, but I loved this show! They did a great job with the music and the singers' voices were amazing. The dialogue was great - so many random references, and we laughed at all of them. I recommend this show!
