We Came As Romans recently topped the Billboard Indie charts with their third album, Tracing Back Roots. As 2013 wound down, the band managed their own headlining tour and appearances on the UK and Australian legs of the Vans Warped Tour. The metalcore band's concert performances are much respected among fans due to the sense of excitement brought to each show, not to mention the unique melodic approach that is so atypical of this music genre. The success of Tracing Back Roots and its ensuing concert ticket sales comes hot off the excellent reception of the band's popular 2011 album, Understanding What We've Grown To Be.
Like many metalcore bands, We Came As Romans began as a collaboration of high school classmates. Formed in 2005, the group originally went by the moniker This Emergency. They performed mainly at concerts in the Detroit metro area, experiencing a few significant lineup changes along the way, including the departure of original lead singer, Sean Zelda. After changing its name in the summer of 2006, the band began to experience several significant successes, including the release of the Demonstrations EP and, in 2008, the debut of their first full-length album, To Plant A Seed. From there, the group's notoriety among metalcore fans skyrocketed. Although some maturation has taken place in the ensuing years, We Came As Romans continue to maintain the sense of vitality that originally enraptured fans. This same energy is sure to play a role in in the group's Tracing Back Roots tour, which is slated for early 2014.
Good performance but their bass was tuned WAY too loudly so all we could hear was bass, drums, and occasional screams.
Paid extra for the VIP seating upstairs. Great view. Great sound. The view from the top is perfect. Great show. Love watching the crowd surf and mosh from a safe distance.
WCAR played an amazing set, a lot of energy and emotions
Probably one of the best shows I’ve been to -excellent seats really… good drinks. We are going back next month.!!!!!!!
Much fun was had at the show. Would do again. Great line up.
Every band was fantastic. Had a lot of fun. Good sound quality and venue
It was a great show i loved it. It was amazing they really are great
I already knew I loved House of Blues Orlando since I’ve been to many concerts there. When I saw We Came as Romans was coming, I had to get tickets. I knew this concert was gonna be a blast but jeez, it was amazing! All of the bands were incredible.
Amazing concert, amazing atmosphere, great music it was a blast!!
Venue was packed, but a great size! It was a hell of a show 🤘😈🤘
We all had a great time! The venue was perfect, and the band put on a fantastic show!
This was my first time going to a WCAR concert alone. I felt so welcomed there. I had such a great time, it felt euphoric!
WCAR was the best live show I have ever seen. I’ve been listening since To Plant A Seed was released through the passing of Kyle and the new album Darkbloom. I had very high expectations and they blew those away. The sound at HOB Orlando was amazing and the engineers with the band had it tuned to perfection! I hope they come back soon!
Great lineup with some recent favorites. Brand of Sacrifice really brought the first bout of energy, and it just kept going.
Great show, loved the audience participation, the Pokemon theme song in-between sets and all. It was great never heard my girl yell that loud. She was squealing she was so excited when WCAR got on stage she also loved the opener. ERRA was okay a solid 7/10 but the first and main event where 11/10
I had seen We Came As Romans once before so i knew they were gonna deliver, but I wasn't familiar with either of the opening acts. Both Brand of Sacrifice and ERRA impressed as well. Love the current location of The Masquerade. Had never been here before. Last time i went to a show hosted by them they were still in the old steel mill. Will definitely be coming back here for more shows.
Such a beautiful venue and really great bands. The visuals, lights, and of course performance made this a top tier show!
The vocal range for the lead singer of BoS is insane. The only vocalist I’ve seen better in recent years is Lorna Shore. WCAR had the crowd moving non-stop. Overall it was another amazing show at Masquerade.
Girlfriend not metal fan Girlfriend liked this Good job
Show was overall great, when they come back around, definitely going!
