We Came As Romans recently topped the Billboard Indie charts with their third album, Tracing Back Roots. As 2013 wound down, the band managed their own headlining tour and appearances on the UK and Australian legs of the Vans Warped Tour. The metalcore band's concert performances are much respected among fans due to the sense of excitement brought to each show, not to mention the unique melodic approach that is so atypical of this music genre. The success of Tracing Back Roots and its ensuing concert ticket sales comes hot off the excellent reception of the band's popular 2011 album, Understanding What We've Grown To Be.
Like many metalcore bands, We Came As Romans began as a collaboration of high school classmates. Formed in 2005, the group originally went by the moniker This Emergency. They performed mainly at concerts in the Detroit metro area, experiencing a few significant lineup changes along the way, including the departure of original lead singer, Sean Zelda. After changing its name in the summer of 2006, the band began to experience several significant successes, including the release of the Demonstrations EP and, in 2008, the debut of their first full-length album, To Plant A Seed. From there, the group's notoriety among metalcore fans skyrocketed. Although some maturation has taken place in the ensuing years, We Came As Romans continue to maintain the sense of vitality that originally enraptured fans. This same energy is sure to play a role in in the group's Tracing Back Roots tour, which is slated for early 2014.

Experience at the club was great. It is a small venue, which are the best ones.
Great sound, great showmanship and fantastic crowd involvement, 10/10, I WILL be at the next We Came As Romans show close to me.
Show was phenomenal. Only issue was Emmure’s vocals weren’t mixed great, but it was only their set that was that way.
A good time only issue was drink prices are to high
Spectacular performance. Great on spotify and even better live.
The bands did amazing! But I believe that the sound of the bands were too loud for the small room that we were in. It was so loud you could not hear any of the bands singing without the reverb overwhelming everything they were saying. This is not a normal problem as I've been to many shows at old national, and even a few in the Deluxe room where the concert was held. But it was enough of an issue that we actually ended up leaving the show early that day.
This is a good venue. Its a little narrower than I'm used to, but the stage is elevated so you can see real easy no matter where you are. The basements alternative viewing spot was also cool.
Basically the first metal concert I've been to! These guys are great, they have tons of energy and sound really good live. The different effects used on stage added to it as well, not too much and not too spare.
The venue was sold out so it was a little crowded. The performances and sound quality were great! The Rooam app made purchasing drinks very quick and easy.
Great performance by each band! Energetic and overall a fun time
The show was amazing start to finish. ERRA and WCAR really brought it home. The pit was fast and rough! Just what a girl needs for a VDay! The crowd really brought the matching energy and the venue staff were efficient and professional. Had a perfect time!
I've been listening to We Came As Romans since I was a teen and got to see them perform way back when and they still carry the same energy today as they did then. Dave is doing great as the vocalist and Darkbloom is amazing in general, not only for the writing but for the emotion and feel around it. It was amazing watching them put on the show with ERRA and Brand of Sacrifice (who are both sick live as well) and I'll definitely be there when they come back around.
This was my first time seeing WCAR and they are a special band. I wish I went out more as a kid but I was always so broke, so I can’t be too angry for not doing so. WCAR hasn’t missed a beat and have adjusted well after Kyle’s death. Varsity is a great venue to watch shows too. Very intimate and I was able to talk with fellow rock fans. Make sure to bring ear plugs but I loved every bit of the concert. Bravo 🎉
Great show! We Came as Romans never fail to impress.
Had an awesome experience. Getting to meet the band before the concert was great, all the band members were very chill and down to earth. And were very appreciative for all of us coming out. During the concert was just awesome. The band came out with a lot of energy and put on a great performance. Not only that but they did a great job with connecting with the audience, as well as keeping us actively engaged. Would not only see them again would would definitely recommend to friends to go and see.
Love the Underground and the bands!! Love the venue! We love coming there and often!
Brand of Sacrifice, Erra & WCAR was the perfect package for this tour. Just banger after banger. Energy off the charts!!!
WCAR knows how to get a crowd to wild out, that’s for sure!
Great experience really energetic event and nostalgic lived every second of it
