Washington Wizards History
Founded in 1961, the Washington Wizards franchise has called Chicago, Baltimore, Landover, Maryland. and Washington, D.C. home. Known earlier as the Packers, Zephyrs and Bullets, the franchise changed its name to the Wizards in 1997.
After earning two playoff appearances in their first five seasons in Baltimore, the team started a formidable run of postseason success starting in the 1968–69 season. Led by Hall of Famers Earl Monroe and Wes Unseld (and later Elvin Hayes), the Bullets went to the playoffs 12 seasons in a row, including four trips to the Finals and a championship in 1978. Behind an MVP performance from Unseld, Washington defeated Seattle in a decisive Game 7 to clinch the title.
Five consecutive postseason appearances highlighted the Bullets’ 80s. The franchise bounced back in the early 2000s, built around the core of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. That trio led Washington to four straight playoff appearances from 2005–2008. Since then, the Wizards have qualified for the postseason five times behind All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal, the latter of which became one of six players in NBA history to average 30-plus points per game in back-to-back seasons.

The wizards showed up to play. Great game guys! #1
It was aleays a tight game, a great experience on an awesome arena.
Great game and the experience was very nice. We had a slight hiccup getting our phone ticket scanned but it was resolved quickly.
If you have ever attended a concert at the Verizon Center before, then you know the sound system is suspect, depending on where you sit. The first 15 minute of the concert the speaker on one side did not work, and from then on they never really sounded great, huge disappointment, not to mention having to move seats after the game, fair is the best I could give this review.
I love my WASHINGTON WIZARDS ❤️ We always have a great time at the games!!! And the after show was out of this world!!!!
The Monster shoe started off on a very bad foot with Kool Moe Dee having a jacked up microphone. I was very disappointed the the emcees nice were crystal clear but the rappers weren't.
Great seats, good game, reasonable price. It was easy in and out with our tickets on the app.
Outstanding venue! Highly recommend for all. Clean, good food and great seats thanks to TicketMaster
Had a great seat when attending thuis game. The result not do much so being a Knicks fan.
I was with my nephew and his fiancee who was visiting from Paris, France. He is a big fan of basketball in general and the NBA. This live NBA game was an incredible experience for him. We all left the Capital One Arena with good memories!
Event was fun and food choices pretty good. Didn’t give 5 stars because most seats had ripped padding
Sat in the 110 section row C for Wizards vs Portland. Could only see half the court due to people sitting in front of us. I am 6'2. Children could see almost nothing. These seats are over $300 a piece. $1200 and not being able to see the full court is ridiculous. Riser should be elevated more off the floor. Also didn't appreciate the adults swearing the whole game around us. Classless.
I always try to purchase tickets through Ticketmaster for events especially the Wizard games because I trust the company and the prices are not ridiculously high. The Wizard games always have seats available and I can pretty much pick the seat I want last minute at a good price and there's nothing like viewing the game from where you want too when you want too.
We had seats in the 400 Level side Court. Tickets were $100 with taxes. There is no way it’s worth hundred dollars. It is one thing to go see LeBron James play in DC but it’s another to pay $400 for the regular season game for our family.
Great seat and great game. My family enjoyed this after thanksgiving event!
Very exciting 4th quarter, good audience inclusion. Lots of choices to pick from for food. Good experience!
Game was good , wasn’t crowded , lines wasn’t long
Great game. The second string played flawlessly which is the support that the starters much needed.
Capital One Arena is a great venue for any event including Wizards & Caps games!
