Washington Wizards History
Founded in 1961, the Washington Wizards franchise has called Chicago, Baltimore, Landover, Maryland. and Washington, D.C. home. Known earlier as the Packers, Zephyrs and Bullets, the franchise changed its name to the Wizards in 1997.
After earning two playoff appearances in their first five seasons in Baltimore, the team started a formidable run of postseason success starting in the 1968–69 season. Led by Hall of Famers Earl Monroe and Wes Unseld (and later Elvin Hayes), the Bullets went to the playoffs 12 seasons in a row, including four trips to the Finals and a championship in 1978. Behind an MVP performance from Unseld, Washington defeated Seattle in a decisive Game 7 to clinch the title.
Five consecutive postseason appearances highlighted the Bullets’ 80s. The franchise bounced back in the early 2000s, built around the core of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. That trio led Washington to four straight playoff appearances from 2005–2008. Since then, the Wizards have qualified for the postseason five times behind All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal, the latter of which became one of six players in NBA history to average 30-plus points per game in back-to-back seasons.

Wonderful experience. Will be attending more games in the future.
The DJ was on point love the dance show over all was happy to be at the game a be a fan.
We enjoy seeing the Wizards, watching NBA basketball live is a fun evening. But there have been so many player changes this season that we didn't know many of the player. And seeing a victory always makes going to the game more fun!
Daughter first game also had to see D Wade play one final time against the Wizards. Also my first time inside the Capital One Arena. AC was a little bit to cold but we loved everything else
It was super easy and so convenient buying tickets from ticketmaster. I got a quick response and my tickets were delivered in minutes. Great deal great service great experience.
First time in DC driving! People awesome! Game was spectacular both teamsDC support for Wizards win or lose like no other! My grandson and I loved riding the Metro!
Dub nation at capital 1 was well represented w/126-118 win
My family and I really enjoyed this event. This was a pre-celebration for my 1 year old grandson. This was his first basketball game. He really enjoyed himself and we enjoyed watching him. He moved to the music, cheered, and applauded. This was a great game and the entertainment was great. Our seats view was excellent (412 row F seats 5, 6, 7), but the seats were very uncomfortable and not accessible for me. I will be returning, but only accessible seats. I would have given a 5 for the overall rating, but that rail and Plexiglas was very uncomfortable.
Easy simple going to the arena Good seat Perfect match
Good family package. Ticket + t-shirt+ 10 dolars beverage
My family and I had a fantastic time at the Washington Wizards vs. the Raptors game on January 13 . My kids can’t wait to go to another game and support the Washington Wizards.
The game was awesome. My seat wast broke. Was leaning the whole game.
My 1st time to see the Washington Wizards play in Verizon Arena and they just happen to be playing my home team while I was in town. Great clean venue, pricey concessions as usual and a great game even though my home team lost. Only one grievance that cost the 5th star is the visiting team's introductions. There was so much music and noise that I didn't even realize our team had been individually introduced until it was over and I was sitting in the lower level! That's sad on many levels. Just show a visiting team and their fans the respect they deserve and next time win or lose, it will still be a 5-star night! Fun had by all!
I went with my family to our first Basketball game. I can fully appreciate the athletesism of the players and great skill needed to play the game. However, Basketball is just not for me ( American football is my game) there is music playing constantly throughout the game, it felt a little like the game was a little bit secondary with all the constant distractions.
I was with my kids old kids and that’s enough to make the game fun though the Wizards did not win.
We went to see a basketball match for the first time ever. Wizards v Chicago Bulls. Amazing spectacle, exactly what you see on TV, only better!!! Definitely recommend going to a match. We enjoyed it so much we went the next night too.
The game was great. The arena staff is helpful. There are always free or inexpensive souveniers.
Lucky to see DW. It is so excited to see him. Like always.
The Wizards Playoff games are ALWAYS exciting! I took my sister to this game a she couldn't speak afterwards! LOL! When the Wiz Kids are in the playoffs don't miss it!
