Washington Wizards History
Founded in 1961, the Washington Wizards franchise has called Chicago, Baltimore, Landover, Maryland. and Washington, D.C. home. Known earlier as the Packers, Zephyrs and Bullets, the franchise changed its name to the Wizards in 1997.
After earning two playoff appearances in their first five seasons in Baltimore, the team started a formidable run of postseason success starting in the 1968–69 season. Led by Hall of Famers Earl Monroe and Wes Unseld (and later Elvin Hayes), the Bullets went to the playoffs 12 seasons in a row, including four trips to the Finals and a championship in 1978. Behind an MVP performance from Unseld, Washington defeated Seattle in a decisive Game 7 to clinch the title.
Five consecutive postseason appearances highlighted the Bullets’ 80s. The franchise bounced back in the early 2000s, built around the core of Gilbert Arenas, Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler. That trio led Washington to four straight playoff appearances from 2005–2008. Since then, the Wizards have qualified for the postseason five times behind All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal, the latter of which became one of six players in NBA history to average 30-plus points per game in back-to-back seasons.

Great game! A lot of fun. Great seats, nice venue.
The website was easy to navigate. I did not have any issue scanning the tickets.
Great venue, helpful and polite staff, plenty of food options, fun half-time activities and safe nearby parking.
It was my first time at the Capital One Area, I was very pleased with my visit.
There were mask enforcement announcements but no actual mask enforcement. Just stop announcing it.
Although the seats were up in the rafters, the in game experience was amazing. The kids had a blast and it was an amazing game. Even though the Wizards lost on a last second buzzer beater it was the best family time we had.
Excellent basketball game - security was efficient in getting folks through the lines, ticket scanning was smooth from the phone, COVID protocols in place, and a great way to start the new year!
The back to back three’s by both teams were awesome!!
game was very good...2-3 pointers in the last 6 seconds for a 1 point victory; it can't too much more exciting than that
Everything was terrific. We felt very safe and COVID precautions were met.
I attended the game as a Cavs fan and I was impressed by the atmosphere and comfort of the stadium. Will return for sure!
Games are always listed as follows: away team vs. home team Ex. Washington vs philadelphia (Washington will play at philadelphia) The game we purchased was listed exactly as the example above, indicating that the game will be played in Philly. Surprisingly, this game was in Washington!! We drove to the stadium to find the lot empty and then looked it up and saw that it was listed backwards and wasn’t clear.
The foot and leg space in the Capital One Arena seating area is horrible for tall patrons. My son and I are both taller than 6', and we were extremely uncomfortable sitting in the arena. We did not have enough space for our feet so we had to turn our knees to the side. The leg and knee space was also so bad that our knees passed over our toes to the point where it was unbearable to even sit and watch the game for more than 5 to 6 minutes of game time. We had to literally move up to the 4th floor in the section behind the baskets where no one was hardly sitting. This allowed us to drape our feet over to the next seats in front of us for comfort. I usually purchase aisle seats to allow space for myself to extend my legs, but the Ticket Master app does not allow this that I could see. Now that my 13 year son is also 6'3" and growing, it makes it even harder to find seats. I will have to find some kind of better option but this was extremely uncomfortable.
It was a first NBA experience for the family. We really enjoyed the game.
My grandson and I have followed Daniel Gafford since he was an Arkansas Razorback. This was an early Christmas present for the 16-year old and we were delighted by the entire experience.
Wiz lost but the experience was good. Efficient entry at the start; good food choices. Nice beer. Seats were good with solid sight-lines. Staff friendly and efficient.
Easy ticket purchase at a great price. We had a ball!
I came to the Wizards vs cavaliers game. The seats were pretty good. There were quite a few food/drink lines issues, but the food was decent.
The post game show with ludacris was awful. The sound quality was so bad all you heard was bass and it completely drowned out ludacris voice. He was also aware of the issue but decided to continue with the show… actually the worst concert I’ve ever been too and nothing was done to fix it
My family and i went to the game because your company offered a concert afterwards with Ludacris, we had to relocated to an area where no seats were available just wait and not hear what the artist was preforming, no one fixed the sound system while he did his thing and it turned out to be a waste of time and money. Your staff were told by several guess that the sound system didn’t work and your staff just looked at us like we didn't say anything poor service all around
