Washington Mystics History
The Washington Mystics are a professional women's basketball team in the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). Since their introduction in 1998 as one of the WNBA’s first expansion franchises, the Mystics have topped the Eastern Conference twice and won the WNBA Finals in 2019. The team was led in their early seasons by multi-season rebounding champion Chamique Holdsclaw and four-time All-Star Alana Beard. The Mystics reached their first Finals in 2018 behind the play of two-time WNBA MVP Elena Delle Donne. Washington returned to the Finals in 2019, winning a thrilling 3-2 series against the Connecticut Sun and delivering D.C. its first professional basketball title since 1978. Delle Donne won her second career MVP in 2019 while shooting the WNBA’s only 50-40-90 season, and teammate Natasha Cloud was named the WNBA Defensive Player of the Year in 2022.

Excellent game! The mystics played hard and should have won
The seats, Section 111, Row F, Seats 21 & 22, were fantastic value for the price. My wife, a former four sport athlete in high school, and I were both disappointed as to the attendance. Crowd was sparse to say the least. The team deserves far better as far as fan support. Kudos to Mr. Leonsis for his support of Womens' Sports. I am sure he is not making money on this endeavor but he he to be applauded for the product that he and Coach Thibault have put on the floor. They have a great future, if they would only get rid of Ivory Latta (a dead zone when she gets the ball. She has only one move, put her head down and dribble.) Team moves far more efficiently and cohesively when Kara Lawson is at the point and Latta is at the end of the bench.
The atmosphere was amazing and the staff was very welcoming and helpful. It was my first time there and I had a great time.
I love the game. The Mystics play could have been better. But loved the crowd and the game. I took the family to see their first WNBA game. My daughter found a few players to follow on the Mystics. And is now working harder playing basketball. To improve and someday to be a pro...
Great to see two rivals. I just wish the Mystics would have handle the ball better.
We had excellent seats. The Verizon Center was clean and all employees were pleasant and courteous. We would definitely visit this venue again.
Great! The game was awesome, and the Mystics played like they love what they are doing
Glad to see an exciting & close game. Got to meet new and wonderful people sharing the same interest.
It was all I expected. Loved the game and the energy of it. Just the comfort of the seats was not my cup of tea.
Had a great time with lots of crazy mystics fans. Worth every cent. Will go see them more.
The game was exciting--The tickets are reasonable--and its great fun
It is impressing to me. That is why I want to know what statistic report when it is halftime. I love reading the box score. We will attend next time.
I went to the Mystics' game with my 13-year-old son. We had a great time - wonderful wholesome family fun. Bonus - the Mystics won!
We had a great time. The Mystics played a great game. Looking forward to the next game.
The staff at the box office were Very helpful & accommodating.
Great game. Great seats. Great environment. Very competitive game. Winner decided in last couple of seconds.
Enjoyed the seats and the view of the court. It made the experience on of he best I have ever had!!
Just want to be sure anyone who reads previous posts knows that I really was paying attention to the game . . . and, since Bria didn't score in that game, the CT connection must have been more like Dolson to Hartley to Dolson. :)
I've been a fan of the WNBA, starting with the NY Liberty, for over 15 years--since Rebecca Lobo played for the Libs. Since then, the quality of play has gotten better and better; and, since then, my wife and I moved to MD 3 years ago. So, we're now Mystics fans . . . and (kinda) Suns fans, and still (kinda) Liberty fans. We came here from CT and were and still are fans of the Huskies, especially women's basketball. So it's a treat to see Stephanie and Bria play . . . especially when they make their CT connection on the court, as they did a couple of times against San Antonio. Mainly, though, it's the quality of play and the amount of heart that goes into the play--makes it possible to be a fan of several teams because, really, you're there to see the women compete and, clearly, enjoy what they're doing.
Fun time at the game with a friend who I play basketball with weekly
