    Waitress well worth it.

by NormF on 7/25/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Loved Waitress at the Cadillac Palace. Great cast, wonderful songs by Sara Bareilles. Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Listened to samples of the original NY cast recording on iTunes and felt that the voices and tonal qualities of the Chicago cast were far superior to the original. Some of the action and thematic elements are pretty advanced for younger audiences, heads up its PG13.

    Entertainment at its best!

by rojapo on 7/25/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Attended Waitress at Cadillac Palace Theatre and the whole experience was outstanding. Our seats toward the back of the floor level allowed for clear view and sound levels provided perfect hearing. The play was so entertaining with a story line that provided both humor and pathos. The cast was without exception very talented. Music and movements were flawless. This was a perfecr outing and much enjoyed. We made a 3 hour train trip to attend and it was definitely worth the effort!

One of the Best Shows We've Ever Seen

by SydneySchuyler on 7/24/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I went and saw this show with my ten year old brother, who was skeptical about it at first. He had never heard of it and isn't as into musicals as I am. But, by intermission, he and I were both in love. I went to this show with high expectations and every single one of them was met. The soundtrack was amazing, with sing-a-longs and slow songs for every taste. It was both hilarious and tearjerking. When you laughed, you laughed hard. When you cried (and I sure did!), you cried hard. Not to mention, the venue was beautiful. There was so much leg room I felt like I was on the couch at home, watching a movie! The foyer wasn't overcrowded or anxiety-inducing like so many others I've visited. The merchandise was adorable and my brother and I each walked away with a shirt. The merchandise line also never grew too long, another huge plus. They sold adorable mini pies with the candy and drinks, which were not only cute but also so delicious! This was one of the best shows and venues I've been to in a long time, I hope I'll get to see it again someday, but until then, the soundtrack will be a constant on my playlist!

    Overall a nice show

by Anonymous on 7/24/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Overall a nice show. I was in tears at 2 points, which were both scenes with the amazing leading actress singing alone. Others in the cast were also good but not as great. The story ended a bit haphazardly, I think, and I found myself wishing more nuances or backstories to be explored.

    Amazing, funny, heartfelt, and beautiful!

by RMcPiebaker on 7/24/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I cannot say enough about how amazing this show is! I am a big fan of the 2007 film! I could watch it again and again. And pairing it with music by Sarah Barielles really was the perfect icing on the pie that was needed for this humble, down to earth story about life’s mishaps and circumstances! I loved how well-developed the characters were, and even how much more spotlight was given to characters such as Dawn and Ogie to contrast what other stories were going on. If I had the opportunity, I would watch this show again and again. The music is so viewer/listener-friendly, the lyrics are very clever but not trying too hard, and it really complements the story of a character who is flawed but finds the strength to accept and grow into her flaws and positive qualities. Desi Oakley captures the sweetly honest, self-deprecating, beautiful, yet humble qualities that make Jenna so endearing and loveable as the heroine of the story. Her performance and portrayal of Jenna would make Adrienne Shelley proud!

    Great Light dessert

An enjoyable evening at the theater. The storyline was right out of a TV sitcom but the cast was very talented and the score was a treat.

    Delectable Diner

by encey on 7/24/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

All the actors really brought their characters to life. Ogie certainly brought out the comedy. The musical pieces were beautiful and relevant. Wasn't sure what to expect since movie wasn't a musical. Quite a delicious production.
