What an incredible showcase of culture, humor, and song! My boyfriend thought i was dragging him to a musical but thanked me all night for taking him! It was beautiful and not at all a corny musical!

    Viva El Paso

by 123cat on 7/26/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

It was wonderful. History was interesting. Costumes were colorful. Actors and dancers were great. GPS got us to McKelligon Rd, but there were no signs to the theater. After 2 wrong turns, got on right road. Mark the way!!!

    Viva! was entertaining.

by Momish on 7/25/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Went to see Viva after many years. Took guests from Kentucky and San Antonio. Other family members with children had already gone this summer but joined us because the children wanted to see the show again! They liked the Deer Dance and the gunfights. Weather was spectacular. Shuttled necessary, comfortable and efficient. Guests liked the show very much and had many questions that I suggested they wait until after the program to ask. Their questions were answered by the presentation. This tells me that the purpose of Viva is well served. Thank you for an enjoyable evening.

    VIVA! El Paso was spectacular!!!

Singing and dancing were wonderful at this event. Both my daughter, curious and excited, and father-n-law, young at heart, enjoyed the show immensely. All the participants worked hard and it was evident in this fabulous production.

    Worth the money spent

by DEAAR on 7/4/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

My first thoughts were that we would go back to see the same performance from 6 - 7 years ago. Anything but, I think the performace, lighting, mountains etc.... was amazing. I have already told friends and relative to go and enjoy the show.

    VIVA! El Paso was excellent!

by dmelton on 6/21/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

Not knowing what to expect because the last time we went, 2-3 years ago, we were not impressed with the changes in the program.. This time with our 2 small children, ages 6 and 7, we were delighted with the program and our children were so impressed that they wanted to know when we were coming back to see the next performance. Everyone did a great job, in preparation for the performance, through the individual performers. What a wonderful program.....VIVA! El Paso!

Not as good as previous years

by mikey18 on 6/20/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

The dancers were not as proficient/smooth as previous years. The singers were absolutely not as good as their predecessors (pitch, range). The large group dance numbers were well choreographed. Lots of costume changes for the 'speaking part' characters. Overall: the talent is not as good as previous years. I have seen Viva El Paso 4 times in the last 6 years.

    VIVA! EL PASO

by JMS2 on 6/7/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I've been in El Paso on and off since 1989. I just kicked myself in the you know what for not seeing this show all this time! This was an amazing experience! The show was a wonderful story about a young lady and described The history of the El Paso area. This is an event that I would definitely go back and see!

    Great show!

by Jsauli on 6/6/10McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I live in The Netherlands and I'm vacationing in El Paso. I've seen musicals in New York (Broadway), London (West End), Paris, Amsterdam but I never thought I would see such an amazing show in El Paso. To begin with the amphi-theater is situated in a mountain which makes for a fantastic ambiance , the costumes were beautiful, the lights, effects, and music were great. but most of all the dancers and singers gave everything they had . One great dance number after another which kept me on the edge of my seat til the end of the show. Thank you guys for a wonderful evening!!

    viva

by math on 8/24/09McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

I have been to several shows thru the years and I think this year was a little weak in comparison to the past years. For example the part where the “Conquistadors” would show up on horseback, the “Indian” would fire an arrow into the mountain and light up the sign “VIVA”. The little things some times put an extra spark to the show. I think this years show was good as always but the few things I’ve mention would bring back some more excitement to the show in turn would bring me back year after year.

    Viva El Paso

Spectacular artistry and show, but some people brought very little children, who cried and screamed during the presentation, which was distracting to many around them.

    Viva El Paso

by Airforcefan on 8/15/09McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

The Viva El Paso show for 2009 was amazing. We've been to at least half a dozen shows over the past 10 years and each one was terrific. Last nights performance was no different and it was, in my opinion, the best Viva El Paso Show yet. My wife and I will definately be returning to next seasons show. All the performers were excellent and the musical numbers were great. I'd recommend the Viva El Paso show for everyone tyo see.

    Viva El Paso was amazing!

by OldGranny on 8/10/09McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

My husband and I live within two-hour traveling distance and finally decided to come only for this instead of trying to fit it in to our schedule. We are so happy we did! The show was absolutely wonderful, the humor was great, the location was so good!! Even the pre-show was so enjoyable (tribute to Michael Jackson dance and belly-dancers). I will be scheduling this into our summer every year.

    Viva Continues to Impress

by Vivafan on 8/8/09McKelligon Canyon Theatre - El Paso

In the 32 years of its existence, my husband and I have missed only one season of "Viva El Paso"--when we were on an extended trip. This summer's offering ranks among the top five. The dances continue to be the best we've seen in any outdoor musical, highlighted by the colorful and exciting folklorico presentations, and the choral music is stronger and more melodious than in any season I can remember. The updates for this season retained the best of comedy, local references, and solos, while infusing enough new material to keep the show fresh. The low points continue to be the dances from the frontier era, which pale in comparison to those of the mythhology and mestizo segments. This is a show that will be enjoyed by all but the youngest, squirmy members of the family season after season.
