    unorganized event

by Christy on 6/5/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

This was the most unorganized, under staffed event I have ever been to. The staff had apparently not been trained together. If I had a question, I could not get the same answer twice from any of the event staff. One person would say one thing, and the next 2 staff asked would have 2 different answers. In addition, unless you were in the first 2 sections of seating you could not hear the performers at all. I know this because I sat/stood in multiple locations over the course of the event. There were not enough speakers and screens. There also wasn't enough lighting, which became a safety concern at night. The only positive aspect were the artists who performed. I would definitely see them in concert again, but not at the Patriotic Festival. I will not attend this festival again.

    Kane Brown Concert 2019

by David G. on 6/5/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

My experience with concert was great, Kane did an excellent show and performance. The only issue I had was with the venue. Arriving 2 hours early to get in line which stretched several streets down the boardwalk, unknown to the people in the back of the line that there was actually two separate lines, one line for the pit and another line for the chairs. However, with no staff to give anyone guidance on how the lines worked.. everyone was lined up in one massive line. After that disaster, we finally made it to our seats. The venue had set up a massive tent in the middle of the pit, which was great for anyone not sitting in the chair section. We moved several times to avoid this tent being in our line of view. Which inevitably was impossible. After the concert started, several people started passing out or having seizures from the heat. EMS sent out a message to the crowd informing to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water. , except for the fact that the venue charged $4 for a water bottle and after only an hour into the concert, the venue ran out of water to sell. This was mind numbing to me, how this could even be possible on a hot day such as this. After being told there was no more water for sale, me and my wife ended up leaving the concert prematurely as we both started to feel the effects of dehydration.

    Great experience!

by Jordan S. on 6/5/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

I thought it was a great show! Kane Brown was amazing and really interacted with the audience. After the opening performer, we had a rain delay but they were quick to communicate for our return to the beach. The show was organized and i would definitely return again.

    Terrible sound

by Gina on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

We paid for entrance and couldn’t hear A damn thing. We would have been better off in the free zone with a cooler. Oh and there wasn’t any whiskey being served. Terrible event. We left early.

Great act, terrible venue and experience.

by R. M. on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

When you buy General Admission tickets you don’t expect much. But there are some basics that you expect when you pay money for music entertainment. First, thay you’re getting something that you couldn’t get if you didn’t pay money: the festival was so poorly set up, that those who didn’t pay could get closer to the stage than GA purchasers. Second, at a music festival you expect to be able to hear music. I was at the very front of the GA section and could barely hear the speakers in front of me, of which there were only 2 for the entire GA area.

    Terrible Setup

by Sam on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

From the GA section I couldn’t even see the stage and there was only one screen in the GA section which was all the way on the right side. Spent $60 to stand allllllll the way in the back. It was basically the same as the people who were on the beach behind GA who didn’t even have to pay. Definitely will not be going back!

    Patriotic Festival 2019

by southerngirlnc on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

We were very excited about the line up for the festival. This was our first time attending and the travel aspect was easy to manage. The concert part not so much. It was complete chaos. Entrances were not well managed and the lines were ridiculously long to get in. They had multiple lines funneling into maybe 2 or 3 people checking tickets for entrance. They also didnt have the entrances marked for GA, VIP, etc. So we waited in line for at least 30-40 mins only to be told we were in the wrong line. Once we got into the seating area we were disappointed again to learn that Luke combs for example didnt start playing until 2 1/2 hours after the start time. This was just unexpected on our part and was disappointing that we didn't know to expect that. We honestly would have waiting and showed up later. No one really wants to see 2 1/2 hours of opening acts unless its someone they really want to see. All in all I can say I do not think we'll be going back. Experiencing the chaos once was more than enough.

    lacking bathroom access

by B123b on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

The concert itself was great! The performers were spectacular. However, we didn’t have access to a bathroom. We were in the pit and they closed off the bathrooms to the right because they were reserved. It was impossible to move thru the crowd to a restroom on the opposite side or in a different section. Very frustrating!

The worst patriotic festival I have been to yet

by K. on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

As the title says... this was the most poorly done, unorganized patriotic festival I have EVER been too. The line to get in was RIDICULOUSLY long.. or so we thought... later found out we just had to walk allllll the way to the front of the 3 block long line and push our way in a 15 or so person line if we had General Admission Tickets... I saw countless VIP ticket holders turned away after waiting in that line because it wasn’t the “correct entrance.” They didn’t take cash inside but there wasn’t an atm inside the GA ticket section. So I had to go back out onto the board walk and wait in a 45 minute line.. because there was no organization and people kept jumping in from both sides.... I walked 2 blocks to get to the atm because the closest one had a HUGE line and one of the 2 atms was out of cash. Then they had to narrow the concert area... which I totally get BUT the screen/ speaker they put to accommodate was only on one side.. and the speaker was broke..you could barely hear the concert from PAID GA tickets... I can’t imagine the free section heard anything. I have gone to the patriotic fest every year for several years and this was by far the worst and most disappointed I have been. I’m glad I only bought tickets for one day.

    Gate Entry

by MarNovaJack on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

Line to get in was ridiculous. Should have had more ticket takers. Experience was poor because the entire event it was just people trying to make their way through crowd the entire event.

    What music?

by M. F. on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

Could not hear the singer sing. The speakers on the beach were not turned on. Very disappointed.

    Great Entertainment but poor audio/video

by T. on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

The Patriotic Festival did a great job with security presence. The separation of different sections were definitely a necessity and they obviously have done this plenty of times before. However, the festival needs more big screens and the audio was horrible. I couldn’t understand anything the singers were saying when they were talking to the audience. The entertainment, Old Dominion, Luke Combs and Kane Brown were great but they all played only one hour so it went by way too fast, especially after waiting for the opening acts to finish for 2 hours.

Fun but definitely room for improvement

by DH on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

The Old Dominion show on Friday was excellent! Easy entry and a great show! However, Luke Combs on Saturday was kind of a disaster. We paid for general admission tickets and the section was so far away with only one set of speakers. Not to mention that there was so much wasted space in the VIP area that we could have been used for GA. It was horrible to hear any of the bands singing. We paid $65 to end up in the free section because you could actually hear/see more from there. I would never pay that much again to be that far away. If there was more speakers or didn’t waste so much room in the VIP area it would have been a complete different experience.

    An AWESOME time

by Jordy on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

This was a great concert but there are something’s I would change! First there needed to be WAY MORE speakers, it was very hard to hear Luke Combs from the general admission area. One other thing I would change is that there needs to be some security o the ocean side because there were people sneaking in because there was no one watching. All around I would DEFINITELY attend this festival again!

    Badly designed

by K. K. on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

Those of us in general admission had no chance to really experience the music. The view of the stage was completely blocked by the giant tent covering the sound table. Also, the general admission was so far back, we needed more than the one tiny screen that was supposed to show us what was actually happening on stage. To make it worse, the speakers in the back were not loud enough. The general conversation of the crowd drowned out the music to the point that you had to really pay attention to hear the Luke Combs. It was a very disappointing experience.

    GREAT show, AWFUL line/entrance

by kt on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

The actual show (Luke Combs) was AMAZING. The light and background show meshed very well together and with his music. But there was still an hour long line to get in an HOUR, AFTER the concert started. That is RIDICULOUS. And that was even for VIP where there isn’t as many people. Tickets NEED to be checked, considering it just got to the point that they just had people hold their ticket up and storm in??? Which in turn, means there were people that either didn’t have a VIP ticket that got in that section or didn’t even have a ticket at all that got in, let alone in that section!! That is RIDICULOUS. There is a whole year until next pat fest, so there better be an improvement on how ticket entrance was handled. I’d love to come back for the concerts, but not if it’s going to be like that.

    Great experience, poor crowd control

by Courtney on 6/4/195th Street Beach Stage - Virginia Beach

The show was awesome and the venue was super cool. The only compliant that I have comes from the crowd control procedure (Or lack there of). People were standing in the walkways to be closer to the stage. Which mad it difficult to walk to the bathroom or to get drinks. There were not any event staff enforcing the zones for the pit and the safety of the walkways. In order to make it to the bathroom or concessions you had to push through a huge group of people. Pushing often led to fighting and I had to break up quite a few during the show.
