Five time Grammy Award winner Victor Wooten has been heralded as "the Michael Jordan of the bass" and "one of the most fearless musicians on the planet." His talent has led to invitations to record and perform with such luminaries as Bootsy Collins, Branford Marsalis, Keb Mo, Chic Corea, The Dave Matthews Band and the legendary Moroccan group Nass El Ghiwane, to name just a few. He is also a founding member of the super-group Béla Fleck and the Flecktones.
Gerrard Allman Presents is proud to announce the return of Victor Wooten to Australia for a run of headline shows in May and June 2023. In an Australian first, Victor will be performing with his band of (literal) brothers – The Wooten Brothers. Joseph (keys / vocals), Roy (percussion/vocals) and Regi (guitar/vocals).
For over four decades The Wooten Brothers have been recognised as some of the most innovative musicians in existence and are collectively known as one of the most talented and dynamic band of brothers the world has ever known. Since they were young, the five brothers (Rudy – a saxophonist, sadly passed away in 2010) have been a musical tour-de-force redefining the limits of jazz, funk, soul, R&B, rock and bluegrass. Sons of military parents, the boys early years were spent living in Hawaii, California and Virginia – where they shared the stages with the likes of Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations, and many others. In the mid-1980s, the brothers released an album as The Wootens for Clive Davis’ Arista Records.
Kicking off with 2 shows at Melbourne’s Memo Music Hall on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 May, the tour also takes in Adelaide’s The Gov on May 26, Freo Social Club in WA on May 27, Sydney’s Manning Bar on May 30 and Lizotte’s Newcastle on May 31 before finishing up at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on June 1. My first time at Jimmy’s jazz club. Amazing venue!!! I have seen Victor with the fleck tones many times. Also seen him on the bass extremes tour. The Wooten brothers are a must see. Incredible musicians putting on an unforgettable performance. Not many shows get five stars but, this was one

Victor and his band put on a high energy show. They covered different musical styles showing off their versatilty and many talents. They played original fusion numbers mixed in some Bela Fleck and the Flecktones songs along with old time classic rock and roll. In between Victor added in some amusing monologs. All this was enhanced by Jimmy’s in Portsmouth NH a small and intimate venue. I will definitly see them again if they come back to the area.
Victor Wooten’s live performance was truly captivating. Witnessing his exceptional skill on the bass, accompanied by the dynamic synergy with his brothers, added a unique dimension to the concert. The collective talent and chemistry among the Wooten brothers made the experience even more extraordinary, creating a night filled with outstanding music and connection.

Four brothers doing what they do… top notch live music. Spanning different sounds and genres, these are some of the best musicians doing their thing. If you’ve never seen them. See them. Amazing show! It is so enjoyable to see a family having so much fun on stage together. The skill was of course incredible, but the atmosphere and message of the show put it over the top!
Victor Wooten and his somehow more talented brothers put on a concert that really exemplifies everything beautiful about live music. They entertained from the first note until the last. In the meantime they took risks, and had fun that could be felt in the audience. They take you on a musical journey that is uninhibited. The Wooten brothers are virtuosos, but that isn’t the show. They are not there to brag or boast, they are there to play music and share love with the audience. Now while they are doing that about every 30 seconds one of them is going to do something absolutely amazing.
From the drums to the bass guitar absolutely amazing music! The crowd was grooving to the magnetism from the frequencies that was being projected uponthem.
The Wooten Brothers knocked it out of the park! This family has amazing talent and is definitely worth seeing. They put on a great show and so did the opening act, The Rebirth Brass Band. Just an all-around wonderful experience!

One of the best bands I have seen, very talented and entertaining. Kept the audience engaged and moving.
It was a terrible show. The rebirth brass band was just noise. Not worth seeing. The Wooten bros were a lot of talk and lousy music. They are burnt out.

Very good concert, the solos and crowdwork were stellar and the creativity was through the roof. The Wooten Brothers are absolute heroes.

Could scarcely focus on the performance. The kick drum was so loud, and so wildly out of proportion to everything else, I could literally feel my clothing shaking on my body. It made my partner nauseous. I could tell Victor and his brothers were doing amazing things onstage, but we were forced out the door only two songs in. Get some new sound techs, pronto. This is awful.
While seeing Vic is always a pleasure, the opening band droned on and on and on…I was there to see a Bass Master…I was not interested in a New Orleans brass band. Also, I felt the sound mix was poor; I was unable to hear all the instruments at many times.
The Wooten Brothers were terrific … very tight, great musicians, and Victor pulls it all together. Great R&B, Jazz, and funk.
