by N/A on 6/1/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I understand from my daughters that it was a delightful performance and the costuming was wonderful. My granddaughter especially enjoyed the show as her musical theatre group is now performing The Lion King Junior.

    A-1

by Will on 5/31/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The Lion King Live is by far the best Broadway Performance and Play EVER MADE! Production and Performance was FLAWLESS and definitely did not disappoint. My wife has been trying for years see it. She just recently had a major brain surgery and through the Grace of God recovered just fine and I was able to take her to see her dream play. She was in awe the whole performance. We will definitely go back to see it again once it returns to North Carolina again.

    Lion King - Spectacular

by Sally on 5/31/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I absolutely loved the Lion King. The music was phenomenal showcasing rich voices of individual singers. The costumes were amazing- you almost forgot there were people operating them. I enjoyed watching the children sitting near me as they were enthralled with the production. I had a clear view of the musician managing the drums and other special sounds and was in awe at how many instruments he was responsible for. I definitely recommend it to persons of all ages (kids 6 and up).

I saw the Lion KIng almost 10 years ago and it was so captivating. I was so excited when I was able to see it again this year. It did not disappoint! I love the opening scene with The Circle of Life and all of the amazing costumes. So much goes into this production! The sets and the costumes really make it come to life. The cast are all superb. A MASTERPEICE

by wrauscher1 on 5/29/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

I remember when I was 3 years old watching the VHS tape I had of The Lion King II: Simba's Pride and the very first trailer they showed was The Lion King on Broadway! I've always been interested in theater and the fine arts, and I've seen a few other Disney performances such as Beauty & the Beast and Mary Poppins, so this was my third Disney performance but my 11TH performance overall! You NEVER disappoint me whether it comes to your movies, your TV shows, your theme parks and now your Broadway performances. I want to thank DPAC for providing a comfortable and enjoyable location. I want to thank the cast and crew for a spectacular performance, and I want to thank The Walt Disney Company for bringing yet another animated classic to life! Such a great show and I hope DPAC gets more performances and Disney tries to re-create more animated classics to life.

The play was great but limited snacks/food

by RamNavy on 5/29/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The play, The Lion King, was very well done and our 10 year old really loved it. Our complaint remains that DPC has no food other than beverages, light snacks and pretzels. The problem is that most theater-goers try to arrive 1-2 hours early to avoid traffic and parking problems but there are NO food trucks and limited restaurants nearby to eat at before entering DPAC. We understand DPAC does not want to create a dining environment inside, but the problem can easily be corrected by inviting food trucks to support the theater.

    Great Show and Staff!

by D123 on 5/29/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The Lion King was an amazing show and we loved the theater and staff. The staff did a great job keeping people organized to their seats, concessions and the bathroom. The intermission was shorter than most but with the staff being so organized it made getting a snack, going to the restroom and having a few extra minutes possible.

    King of Broadway

by Cathy on 5/29/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

There is nothing like the Lion King production. It has every emotion and surprises that take your breath away. My small disappointment: I was disappointed that they cut “the morning report” and was surprised to see Simba chewing gum while sitting on Pride Rock during the hyena dance. Other than those two small complaints, it knocked it out of the park.
