About

NEEDTOBREATHE have spent over two decades developing a unique sound that blends elements of rock, country and Christian music. The South Carolina band was formed in 1998 by brothers Bear and Bo Rinehart. They expanded the outfit into a quartet and released a string of independent projects before debuting their first major label effort, Daylight, in 2006. NEEDTOBREATHE’s sophomore album The Heat (2007) marked the group’s first placement on the Billboard 200 and earned the group their first No. 1 on the Christian Airplay chart with the single, “Washed by the Water.” Their 2009 follow-up The Outsiders elevated the band, reaching gold certification from the RIAA, while 2011’s The Reckoning marked more crossover success after notching their first No. 1 on the Top Rock Albums chart. With 2014’s Rivers in the Wasteland, NEEDTOBREATHE broke into the Hot 100 thanks to the Gavin DeGraw collaborative song “Brother.” The single “Multiplied” led to the band’s first Grammy nomination for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song. NEEDTOBREATHE reached a career peak at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with 2016’s Hard Love. In 2020, the group announced the departure of Bo Rinehart and have since released three studio albums as a quintet with Bear, Seth Bolt, Josh Lovelace, Randall Harris and Tyler Burkum.

    assaulted by lights

by Charlie on 5/3/24Daily's Place - Jacksonville

Great band and venue. Light show was nearly seizure inducing. flashing, bright, laser and strobe lights - highly distracting from the music, which was also wayyy too loud. will probably not go back to a similar show due solely to the lights flashing in our eyes. we left barrly half way in it was ao bad.

    Big Fan

by LaLa on 5/3/24Brandon Amphitheater - Brandon

The concert was fantastic! They are one of my favorites and the light/media show was impressive. The venue was great and the weather perfect. I loved everything about the concert except NeedtoBreathe starting at 8:30. I wish it had been 8:00 instead.

    Outstanding concert

by Groovy on 5/3/24Brandon Amphitheater - Brandon

Thoroughly enjoyed seeing Needtobreathe at the Brandon Amphitheater. I have one hiccup to report though. We had first row seats in Section A closest to the stage, but could not see well because 2 or 3 tall men were leaning against the barricade inside the pit that separated the seating area from the standing section. So we bought $25 pit tickets and ended up adjacent to the stage for an outstanding concert. Next time, we will just buy pit tickets and stand close to the band.

    Awesome! 🤩

by MellyR. on 5/1/24Daily's Place - Jacksonville

Great concert, everything was very smooth with the sound, all the lights and pictures on the screen were cool & fun which made it that much more exciting. The band did AWESOME!!! And Bear (the lead singer) made it a heartfelt and memorable experience. Would definitely see them again if I am able to in the future!

I was expecting more songs from the new Caves album. Seats were a bit tight. But all in all it was a great show and I would definitely go see them again.

As always, such a great show!

by Britt on 5/1/24Daily's Place - Jacksonville

Third time seeing Needtobreathe, and somehow it was even better than previous times, which you don’t think they could put on an even better show because they already put on such a great show before. These guys are so much fun to watch play live. They have such awesome energy, and are so alive. Also, probably couldn’t meet anyone much more humble than these gentlemen. If anyone ever gets the opportunity to see them live, do it, you won’t walk away disappointed.
