Not what I expected for the price

by Intimidator3 on 5/2/22McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

The theme was Star Wars, yet they started with some pieces completely unrelated to the Saga, then when they finally got to the music about the movie, their performance wasn't the greatest, was a horrible mistake on one of the solo themes that completely ruined the performance. I made a sacrifice to pay 360.00 dollars to purchase 2 ticket on resale because there was no more in Ticketmaster, I understand people who buys multiple tickets with the sole interest in making some extra money is ok, but the tickets on the Ticketmaster site were 60.00, I would ask Ticketmaster to limit the resale price to be no more than 15%.

Valley Symphony Orchestra does it again

by Clyde Your Piano Guide on 3/28/22McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

My family and I had a great time. The music was great. The venue is beautiful. But my favorite part of the evening is watching my little girl's eyes light up. Here's to another 70 years.

    Beautiful Music!

by Lucero on 12/13/21McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

The Valley Symphony was outstanding. Did not like the noise associated with items purchased at the concession stand. Too much of a distraction. I expect that at a movie house, certainly never at a symphony.

I enjoyed the experience immensely, listening to a great work of art live is much better than digital.

    Great evening!

by Debra on 10/28/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

I really enjoyed the Symphony on October 25th at the McAllen PAC. I especially enjoyed and appreciated the Maestro taking the time to explain what we were going to hear after intermission when they performed the Brahms Symphony. His explanation and the symphony playing short snippets of each movement was reminiscent of Leonard Bernstein's "Young People's Concerts" so long ago. I learned a great deal and I'm clear that the audience became a little more educated about what they / we ere going to hear. I do hope that he continues to do this kind of "education" during future concerts. Well done!

    5 star

    by N. A. G. on 4/9/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

I took my grandson who is 19 years of age, he likes the string instruments. My grandson does not leave the house unless it is something that he likes. He loved it as I did, especially he commented when the choir was added to the venue. My grandson and his family had been abroad for his entire life, they lived in Japan, England and Spain. He in fact was made in Japan. He felt safe and excited about the symphony and commented that he would do it again.

    A pleasant evening

by McAllen Performing Art Center on 3/4/19McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

We got these tickets so we could take our daughter in law and grandson to this performance. A wonderful time, the music was great and the entire staff was accommodating; our 11 year old grandson is confined to a wheelchair and he had a wonderful experience.

    Stop Serving Snacks

by Eliz99 on 10/1/18McAllen Performing Arts Center - McAllen

I do not care for the fact that the audience is allowed to eat and drink during the performance. It is distracting and rude to the performers.

The Orchestra, Director and Chorus have really outdone themselves. The soloists were unrivaled. Everything about the concert was spot on, we are so glad we decided to attend.
