    Great fun for everyone!

by CDFA on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Our family loves this event. The staff is always friendly and the grounds are beautiful. There are a ton of free things for the kids to do including outdoor concerts, watching the tennis pros practice, balloon animals and face painting. We all love it.

    Make 2019 Better organized

by Anonymous on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Kids day means tons of kids and families. 1 balloon maker and 1 face paint station isn’t realistic. There should be at least 3 stations of each. Kids and lines don’t mix well. Emirates as a host should have multiple stations as well. Also there should be a certain number of freebies given every hour to ensure all kids get the opportunity to get them. For the practice courts would be great if parent could reserve seats or at minimum release the schedule so families can better plan their day

by dzejny on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

It was a fun day! Come early if you want to see the players practice/get autographs without ovewcrowded courts. The show was ok - best part Nadal, Djokovic, Serena, Kerber and Keys all at the same time!

Never Going To Kids Day Again

by BillO18 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The grounds were overcrowded and they closed the roof on a perfectly sunny day. Seemed like a great idea, except the tennis stadium was never designed to be a concert hall. The addition of the closed roof made the sound horrible. You could not understand the speakers and the music sounded worse than a NYC subway loudspeaker. This is a well known flaw of the stadium yet they still closed the roof on a sunny and not too hot of a day. I expected insane food prices, but this was a new level of insanity. $37 for chicken tenders, fries and two sodas!.

    Fun for kids but...

by rockette66 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

It’s fun for kids but pack your patience...the lines for the activities were long which can frustrate little kids. Also there weren’t a lot of treats given away to the kids. One spot had you go to 1 line to get a lanyard just to get in another line to play a game in order to get one another line to get a prize. Too many hoops to jump thru...

You pay for a concert but do not hear a thing!

by Alexita on 9/6/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The event in general has a fantastic atmosphere, the crowd was nice , we were able to see Murray, Nadal, Federer, training. BUT, once inside the stadium for the concert the acoustic was terrible!!!, it was much better in previous years without the roof. Whoever designed the place did not take into account the acoustic. One thing is to go for a game, and a totally different thing is to go for a concert, you can not hear a thing, just mumbling . I will definitely go back to the event to enjoy the grounds, but I am not planning to pay for the concert ticket again, it is not worthy.

US Open Arthur Ashe Kids's Day is not so good

by MichaelChangRocks on 9/2/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Kid's Day is good for kids that are 12 years old and younger. Not so good for teenagers. Its mostly for young kids that enjoy face painting; tattoos; balloon animals; story telling etc. Not so much to offer for older kids. Except for the enjoyment of the over priced foods. The food was good and there were many types of food offered. Just wish the cost of the meals were a bit cheaper. The show at the stadium was lame. Again it was geared toward little kids. The hosts were young actors/singers from Disney. The performers this year was not so hot. Wish they invited bigger named performers that appeal to a larger age range of audiences At least last year they had Flo-Rida which even adults know and enjoy. Many years ago there were a lot more freebies given out. Now the only freebies given out was a CHASE plastic piggy bank which was actually the same thing they gave out last year. At least they should give out something different. They did gave caps but again its only for younger kids, Teenagers gets zippo nada sqwat. The only great thing that appeal to older kids and adults like myself is to watch the professional tennis players practice. And you were able to get seats that are close up and watch them. Which was quite cool. I though the parking there was horrible. There was no direction to point out where to exactly park. We literally circled the entire park and could not find the lot. Finally I stopped to ask someone and they said to park by Citifield. And the cost was $25 which I thought was a bit high, But it was a short walk to the Stadium. I think last year I parked in a lot that was $10 but had to wait on a long line to get onto a shuttle bus which got us to the stadium. And it was even a longer wait for the bus at the end of the day to get back to our car. So maybe paying the $25 was not so bad after all considering. Enough said. My final comment is I will not take my teenage kids there again. For the future for myself. If it was a beautiful day with nothing else to do I may go just to watch the pros practice for a bit. Take the subway in Carry a plastic bottle of water with me in. Plan on eating out afterwards. And definitely not pay to go into stadium to watch the dumb show. It should be more enjoyable and lot less costly.

The show is the best part

    The prior year was better

by puertothai on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Last year the event seemed more organized with more activities and items for the kids. Constructions was ongoing for a new court and the temporary Louis Armstrong court was located behind this, with no signs directing patrons. This year seemed to be haphazardly put together and last years concert was much more entertaining and the headliner was a known artist as opposed to random Disney Channel and YouTube entertainers.

Very little tennis too much advertising

Music was disappointing. Very little tennis - no exhibition games at all. Practices were better on other days. Way too much Disney advertising and no content.

    OverCrowded

by BrownMnM on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Only 2 shuttle buses to transport customers to the stadium. We waited about 40 minutes which was equal to the shuttles returning 3 times. Once inside the area every line was ridiculously long. Face painting line was cut short due to overcrowds. The assistance blatantly told us "they didnt anticipate the crowd"..thus our daughter and many others were turned away. Ditto for character balloons. If you read someone enjoyed themselves their child had face painted or made the line to get a free character balloon. We arrived seemingly early, (11 am) and place was packed. Our seats for the 1pm show were fine. We didnt seek info on the performers and thus only knew the host. Good thing we captured great pics of Rafa, Venus and Federer otherwise it wouldve been boring. Oh, yes and good thing the roof was closed and the a/c was on.

Okay if you live in the area

by DBJTFZN on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Spent a great deal of time traveling from upstate, Poughkeepsie area, to get to the event. Spent most of the time standing in lines for everything, food, activities, Arthur Ashe show. The show was disappointing, the sound in the stadium was terrible. Couldn't understand most of the interviews. I would not go to this event again unless I lived close by.

Should be free not that entertaining. They can make plenty of money on the food stand to pay the acts as we all know the food is over priced.

    General Admission seats unclear

by EquestriAnn123 on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

These were general admission tickets. I bought tickets like this before for concerts in the Forest Hills tennis stadium so we knew to go early. The Stadium opened at noon for a 1pm show so my daughter and I got on line early so that we would could get good seats. After finding good seats and checking with an usher who confirmed it was ok to sit there we waited for the show to start. Just as it was about to begin, a lady came by and said we were sitting in her seats. After some discussion, she got another usher to come by who said the section we were sitting in was actually reserved seating (even though there was no tape, signage or any indication of it being a reserved area) and that we would have to move. Of course, the stadium was full by then so we had to go all the way up. Shown are the before and after seats. I could have taken my time and allowed my daughter to participate in more activities instead of getting on the line to get into the stadium early. It was very disappointing for her and frustrating for me. They should just assign seats when they sell tickets. The acoustics for the show was terrible and difficult to hear what people on stage were saying or hear the music well without sounding muffled.

    Always a blast

by DadofDads on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

This is our 3rd year coming to AAKD and the day is amazing! Each year we rush out to the stadium to experience the sights and sounds and each year it seems more and more exciting. Seeing the practices and experiencing tennis like this in NYC is truly a treat. The Concert: The only complain is in the stadium and for the third year in a row, the sound during the concert wasn't good at all. The first year we went you could barely hear because the microphones kept going out. last year the sound was muffled to the point where one of the singers after the show was over came back out to redo his song. this year Sofia's microphone went in and out and it felt as if they were catering to the TV audience and not us in the stadium. I might rethink the 10 buck nosebleeds next year.

Arthur Ashe kid's day was a disappointment

by Trinityteetee3 on 8/29/17Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Normally this day is full of fun activities and awesome giveaways for the kids with a concert that has at least one noteable name that makes the kids beg their parents to buy a ticket. None of that was true this year. Noteable absentees were past sponsors Hess - we miss their incredible trucks & planes they gave away. We miss the Time Warner area that had the BEST giveaway of all- artist that grew caricatures of each child playing tennis! I know it's owned by a different company but where was spectrums presence? The concert was the worst EVER! The acts were HORRIBLE & I never saw so many people leave DURING a show that you paid for!!! It was that bad! I stayed because I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. I purchased 8 tickets to the concert & invited my nephews for the first time because every year we have a blast but this time I was embarrassed! Staff at the end of the show just made it all worse. I was taking my toddler niece to the bathroom& was told by staff it was closed go down one level but when I arrived at the next level the supervisor- Tom said no one could have told me to come their or was for Suite/ vips only. Way to go Arthur Ashe Kid's Day staff for almost making a toddler wet herself are the toilet seats on the main level of the stadium made of gold? To not allow a toddler access to relieve herself is heartless! The food was soooooo overpriced. I spent $6 for a Gatorade and spent over $100 to feed 4 kids chicken fingers!!!! I don't believe anyone of them really wants to come back again. I know I don't! This is sad because we have awesome memories of past years before this new sponsor - Next generation, took over hopefully they get better
