    Kids Day Didn’t meet Expectations

by C. on 8/27/19Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

It’s always a great venue to be at but was disappointed by kids day. Realize there are no tennis matches. It’s free to get in but ticket is for the show in Arthur Ashe which consists of mainly musical acts that are ok but not great. My niece and nephew are 12&13 and we would not go again. After the show we tried to see a practice round with Nadal and he didn’t show up which was disappointing. I’d give Kids Day a 7 out of 10..

    AAKD

by Mister Window (Tom) on 8/27/19Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Arthur Ashe Kids Day AAKD was great. All the kids were respectful, attentive and very appreciative. Worked with kids 3-11 years old. Great time by all.

    Fun Filled Day

by Janet & Jads on 8/27/19Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

Went there with my 15 year old daughter who happens to be very young at heart. She had a great time, had face painted, amongst different activites. She even had the privilege to take a selfie with one of her favorite Disney star, Meg Donnelly also watched all her favorite tennis players practice up close. Lunch at the foodncourt was good. The highlight of the day, concert at Arthur Ashe stadium was super great. She really had a wonderful overall day. Will look forward to next year again & I will bring my nieces & nephews too.

    by C. G. on 8/27/19Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

How about if you give us the details. It was my first time as a mom going to the us open and with two kids. Next time how about if ticket master puts a link so the person going can be have more information. Instead of hunting it for my self. It’s all about the little things- thanks

    U.S. Sloppy

by Static451 on 8/29/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

I attended Kids Day and I was shocked at how disorganized it was. Also no healthy foods. No real Vegan choices. The sound was horrible. I have heard clearer Subway announcements!!!!! What a shame!!!!

    Nice but Crowded

by AAQs on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

For future AAKDs, there should be more of the following: face painting station/tables Hair Beading and Braiding More locations to store strollers; because strollers were pilled up on each other which was a disaster. I will need my stroller for a few years and I will purchase for the concert in the future nor will I pay to see a game in the stadium.

    Waste of Money

by NickP13 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The kids day was fun for the kids but the show was completely worthless. Would not recommend spending money on it.

    Don't Waste Your Money

by BookRat on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The event is FREE!!! The only thing that you are paying for is to walk into the Arthur Ashe Stadium - the seating is open, so all the seats are in the upper rows. It's loud so bring ear muffs for little ears. But take my advice, come early take advantage of all the FREE events, there are plenty of them, and spend the ticket money on food or ice cream!!!

We wanted to hear the pros speak!

by Rafa24 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The sad thing was that even though the pros were mic’d, they were never asked anything by officials and therefore never said anything. It was a complete waste of a great idea. The people came to see and hear from them! Only Serena was asked questions and given opportunities to speak.

5+ years and counting (don't bring any bags though

by DadofDads on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The US Open Kids Day is... to capture it in a phrase, "The Disney World or Sports." I have been taking my daughter for the past 5 years (she's 14 now) and we go mainly for the midday concert at this point. Early on we cam for the activities which can be a bit hectic and overrun. What I noticed is that many of the volunteers give preferential treatment to their friends who have shown up so you may be waiting in line and then suddenly there's a call. "the line is closed" and then you see them usher in friends. It's taxing on the little kids and unnerving for the bigger kids. There needs to be some programming for older teens as well. The little kids are there because it's something their parents want them to do while the older kids are actually into tennis and the stars at the concert. anywho ... this is complaining now. But overall its a fun free day without the concert and a fun cheap day with the concert.

    ripped off!

by dcharna on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

I had no idea that $100 later but 2 hours of round trip travel my kids would not get to see any tennis; not even practice. I am utterly disgusted. Never have I bought tickets for a "kids day" for a sporting event and there was no 'sport'. We were subject to 1.5 hours of bad teen bands and sent home. I thought I was paying for an afternoon of tennis. When I complained at the ticketmaster kiosk I was told there was no one to complain to.

    Overpromised, Underdelivered

by CPdeMitten on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

We got there at 930 (?luckily) since the lines for everything were enormous by about 1045/11. The maps were nice but if you have not been there before, I can see how they were a bit disorienting and there were no official signs directing people to AAKD events. The stadium show was a joke...acoustics were terrible, most disorganized event ever - 2 very sweet kids started singing the national anthem during a random moment and people scrambled to stand up (or continue to sit, whichever they chose :) ... they had singalongs to songs that no one knew...the pros weren't out there very much at all. The on-court activities were the slowest and most boring I've ever seen...I'm a bit nervous that it caused my son to never be interested in tennis again.

Amazing Show For Kids And Adults!

by QueensGal2018 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

It was a great show, it exceeded my expectations! I didn’t think I would get to see Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams! The performers were amazing, fun and talented! My suggestion is to have an act for younger kids, and it would have been cool if the tennis super stars played a mini-match again at each other, instead of just making an appearance

Feel a bit short of expectations

by Sal1819 on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

The event needs more time and some variety. There are so many artists outside the Arthur Ashe stadium. They can be called inside to perform and entertain the kids or even the kids from America’s Got Talent can be invited. They will get an opportunity and the kids attending the event will be inspired by them. Fun is just not music show. It can be much much more. Organizers have almost 3 hrs for the event. Lot many acts can be added next year. I understand that the theme is “net generation” but not all kids are interested in attending just because it is tennis. Many kids attend because it is Summer and they need some entertainment. The whole event resembles like a theme park so why not bring the theme park experience right here in New York. Just my views and ideas.

    Tennis and Performance Perfect

by AndreaDJ on 8/28/18Arthur Ashe Stadium - Flushing

What an amazing mix of Tennis and Performers. Seeing the top Tennis players in the world so close it’s amazing and the show with all the different bands was really nice too. And at that price you can’t beat it!
