I LOVE UNDERSCORES SO MUCH AND THE TICKETS ARE SO CHEAP ‼️‼️
To start, I want to warn people that I may be biased, I've been a fan since seeing her open for 100 Gecs, and hearing fishmonger for the first time around then. By the time this tour was announced she was my favorite artist for sure, surpassing the Gecs. I went to this concert 2 times already, one in Austin and one in Houston, and when I'm writing this, I'm getting ready to travel to Dallas to see it for a 3rd an final time. That being said, here is as close to an unbiased review you can get from me. The same level of work that April put into Wallsocket, she put into this tour. They were both incredible. The visuals of this tour were on point! By far the best visuals I've ever seen from any standing room only type of concerts, and even beating some stadium concerts. She basically had a movie that went along with her every move. Also, I absolutely love the fact she gave a content warning for Johnny Johnny Johnny, inviting people to step out of the room for a moment if needed. I've never seen an artist do something like that before, very caring. Setlist spoilers ahead! I love the setlist for this show, it had a great mix of old and new. I was surprised to see Northwest Zombie Girl, and the introduction she did for it was sick! I only have 2 small complaints: 1: she had to shorten a few of the songs to be able to fit them in, maybe not doing all the verses, or just 1 verse and one chorus, and that's totally fine by me. My complaint here is that for "Duhhhhhhhhh"she cut out the breakdown, which is, in my opinion, the best part of the song. 2: It wasn't too short, but I definitely wouldn't have minded it being maybe 10 minutes longer, if it meant she got to squeeze in 2 more songs. Those songs being Loansharks, and maybe 70%, or anything from Character development would've been sick to hear. However I'm sure she's exhausted from the length already, and she chose a great lineup and order for the roughly hour and 10 minutes it already lasts. One a more positive note, she added plenty of difference to keep it fresh live, performing a different solo for "Cops and Robbers"and extending the outro on "Heck,"were both fresh and exciting. All in all: I thoroughly enjoyed this show, Even my date who I took with me to the Houston show, who had never really listen to her before, really enjoyed it. The work she put into this far surpassed my expectations. I know there's a few people who have uploaded the full show on YouTube, but I hope that at at least one location she had it recorded professionally, so this can be documented, that's how cool the entire show was.
I had an amazing time at the underscores concert. It was a surprise for my friend who's it's their favorite band. We got there and it was an amazing time with alot of amazing people the music was loud and the crowd was having an amazing time. The concert was a 10 out of 10
