Chicago's eclectic rock band Umphrey's McGee has been keeping fans on their toes for nearly 27 years now. Though often pigeonholed into "jam band" circles, Umphrey's doesn't fit that traditional mold; and their fans don't either. Is it prog rock? Song-forward, Beatles-esque arrangements? Be careful, they might hit you with some metal riffs mid-set, too. Amongst 2,500+ gigs and 300 million+ tracks streamed, you-had-to-be-there moments include the band's performance at the first-ever Bonnaroo and selling more CDs (remember those?) than any other act on the bill. A leader in the live music world, Umphrey's McGee became the first group to launch its own single-artist streaming service with UMLive.net, which houses recordings of every gig since 2005. The service has since grown and now lives on through Nugs.net, which is used by the likes of Pearl Jam, Bruce Springsteen, and more.
Beyond intimate backstage encounters and ski trips with their most diehard fans, Umphrey's McGee instituted the groundbreaking "Headphones & Snowcones" program, granting fans access to professional headphones and a soundboard-quality mix to listen wirelessly at shows. At their UMBowl, they empowered the audience to vote on the setlist in real-time and choose favorite improv themes via text message. In 2017, they stepped into another realm altogether by integrating themselves into the VR Platform Endless Riff. All of the above has earned the band status as kings of the live music scene with standing yearly engagements at iconic venues, their own events in Iceland (Rockjavick) and Mexico (Holidaze), and co-hosting Chillicothe, IL's long-running Summer Camp festival. In April 2025, Umphrey's McGee will lead their faithful fans on another bucket list musical adventure: Morockshow will feature three nights in Marrakech, Morocco, marking another signature event in an exotic location. Umphrey's McGee's latest release Asking For A Friend showcases more evolved songwriting and thoughtful arranging from a band continuing to grow and mature with their droves of die-hard, longtime fans.

Honestly, Umphrey’s was dad rock and shredding, with a hefty dose of unfinished covers thrown in. And the covers weren’t a bad idea as their originals were - meh.
Light show was focused on the crowd. Rarely saw the band due to the rear stage light show was aiming at the crowd and not the band. No rear lighting what so ever aim at the stage. Light show was backwards. Very disappointing!
It's always a great time and you get your money's worth cuz they're just great musicians. The vibe is incredible, if you haven't seen them give it a try.
Umphreys always brings it \mm/ Creative and super tight every time It took me a minute to warm up to the new stage setup and have pony out of the center but i dig it now
The show was incredible! I’m a music/concert snob and I was absolutely blown away . The price point was perfect,the venue is so fantastic,the sound,the setting,and music was flawless. The staff was impeccable. Security was a little overboard but I suppose that is what you want for safety . 5 star experience!
It was a good show just not loud enough I thought. Saw Stick Figure there and it was much better

Although I'm not a typical fan of this type of music, I joined my husband for this show and can now honestly say I'm a fan! Great band! Great show!
Grea show, great venue, great area for pre and aft showtime
This UMBowl Concert at the Boston House of Blue was probably the best Multimedia Concert Event EVER! The Blue Man Group does not even compare, not nearly as interactive!! On Friday night the Chicago based Umphrey's McGee Band played to spontaneous prompts with various instrument combinations and players. They played some other covers and closed with a pristine version of 'Round About' by Yes. On Saturday Night the first set was their great originals and during the second set the band played along with and interacted with videos of the Blues Brothers, Pans Labyrinth, and Interstellar on a very large screen behind them. Unreal construction of spontaneous interactive music. During the second set the audience was able to vote on a choice of songs thorough texting to a poll displayed on the screen and the winning songs were played. The musicianship, the singing, the drumming, the guitar playing was all excellent, so much fun, and overall better than any concert I have ever attended.
Umphrey’s McGee is quite literally the perfect band. This show was UNREAL. The first set where they improvised music to classic film scenes was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen on stage.

Just incredible improv and music at its finest. 6 sets in two nights with great energy and variety. Something for every music lover and UM fan.
Rained out the first day, two lightning evacuations before canceling. Next day, they cut the set short by quite a while which was lame. Music was good though.
We stood in the rain from 430 - till it stopped, and you closed with tripplewide at Greenfield lake for a 3rd time? It was 830 you could have played one more song.
Great show. Amazing musicians. Umphrey's Mcgee is a great band. They have amazing musicianship and play many styles of music and sometimes within one song. They have a great light show and a great ambient environment. I do wish they would play wizard burial ground more often. Otherwise, the show was amazing and the musician ship is the greatest. Thank you.
I can't believe this band has been around 25 years & I just started seeing them. Great jam band. When they are in town I'm going for sure.

RATM, Pink Floyd and tons of originals. These guys are masters of the craft. I never miss them when they roll through LA
