The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Tour
The most elite fighters in mixed martial arts do battle against each other in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. In just over 25 years, MMA has grown into one of the most popular of combat sports, and UFC has grown to become the name to know in mixed martial arts. Some of the greatest fighters in history have been associated with the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While the brand has continued to grow worldwide, on pay-per-view, and with the hit reality series The Ultimate Fighter, UFC action is best experienced at the dozens of live events produced each year.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship originally started with a tournament at Denver, Colorado's McNichols Sports Arena on November 12, 1993. It was an exhibition to determine which of a multitude of combat styles were the most effective, including kickboxing, kenpo, shootfighting, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Out of this evolved what is now known as mixed martial arts, where fighters combine several styles in order to knock out their opponents or drive them into submission. UFC entered the world of women's mixed martial arts in 2012 with the signing of Ronda Rousey, and has quickly become the premier organization for women's MMA as well.
UFC sanctions titles in nine weight classes, with women competing in the strawweight, flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight classes. Men compete in the flyweight classes and beyond as well as lightweight, welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight, and heavyweight divisions.
Ultimate Fighting Championship bouts are fought using the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts, passed by the New Jersey State Athletic Commission in 2001 and adopted by North America's other governing bodies over the next decade. UFC fights are judged by the "10-point must system," for three to five rounds lasting three minutes each. Fights must end either by submission, knockout, technical knockout, decision, disqualification, forfeit, or in a no contest.

I atteneded UFC 297. Tickets were extremely expensive and we lost multiple big names on the card with no replacements, so that was a bit of a letdown... Overall I am a huge fan of the UFC and would do it all over again.
Great time at a great venue. Very well run and organized.
Other than the main event the card was underwhelming. Most of the merchandise had full send on it and the only shirt that did not have full send was sold out in every size except double XL.
Love ufc Love Dana white But the card was too long The main fight didn’t start until 115 am ET
By far best atmosphere and excitement out of any sports event I’ve been to date
Had a great time. The only downside were the extremely high prices. Awesome people at the event
Great time watching ufc 297 only complaint was stoped selling beer a little early
Was awesome to go to a UFC event on Canadian soil. People have been critical of the card lineup but over all I am happy with experience and would go again in the future.
This was my first UFC event ever! I thought the 300 level seating would be too far away to have a good view of the events, boy was I wrong! The big screen, the liveliness of the crowd. This was great. Even the fans sitting all around us were stoked, and we had so much fun with the guys on either side of us. We all had a great time. It was like a big tailgate party. I highly recommend UFC events. Lots of fun to be had. Only two drawbacks first the extremely long lines for the washroom, ridiculous. I can’t even imagine what would happen if you were there with a small child who had to go. Second, the price of the concessions $13 for a hotdog, are you kidding me?! Otherwise it was awesome
Title says it all. Judging was terrible, nearly no one ranked on the whole card, boring female co-main (typical for Canada these days) and they enforced a one-drink max so you couldn’t get one for your friends.
Premium pricing for a lousy fight card. Fights lacked any excitement. Not a single knockout. Ended way too late @ 1:45am. Why can’t we start these earlier? Unlike Vegas, people generally have to get transit home. It’s no fun getting home at 3am. Dana saying the event was sold out. No chance - plenty of standard seats still available at 7:15pm. Our 8th UFC event. Questioning whether I’d go to another after this poor experience.
Boring fights. No knockouts. The amount we paid for the event was not worth the actual hype. UFC needs to put more exciting fights on Canadian cards.
Missed all transit, transportation options when left arena. Last fight should end at midnight. Giving ample time to hear commentary from fighters and make public transit. Arrived at 8 PM to watch fights. Too much spare time in between matches. Fight cards were not the best. More than half were boring.
Event was good seats were great, don’t think it was worth almost $1000.00 per ticket
i came from montreal for that event and i think it was a fight night card
First time at a UFC and the organization is great but the fans are simply the best! What a great event. Thanks toronto.
Amazing show. Brutal. Thanks... A good show.......
Enjoyed the fights as usual. Looking forward to the next time they come to Texas.
Fights were great lots of energy. Moody Center Arena offers great service. Thank you for making the night so special. Will return.
