About

Few bands in rock music history have reached the level of superstardom (and have maintained the staying power) of Dublin-based band U2. Due to a winning combination of innovative, ever-evolving songwriting, spectacular live shows, and front-man Bono's penchant for political/humanitarian endeavors, U2 have managed to remain an A-list act since emerging onto the music scene with their debut album Boy in 1980. With phenomenal album sales (every album they've released since 1987's The Joshua Tree has hit Billboard's number one spot), a plethora of hit singles ("New Years Day, " "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Pride," "I Still haven't Found What I'm looking For," "With or Without You," "Mysterious Ways," Beautiful Day," -- and the list goes on) U2 have established themselves as the premier rock band of the 1980s and far beyond. Their sound has evolved from post-punk (guitarist The Edge created a signature sound with his sweeping, delay-heavy guitar work), to arena rock, to blues-inspired rock, to electronic/techno pop and back again. With their 2005 release, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2 treat fans to sounds both classic and new-- reminding us exactly why these Dubliners have managed to become one of the most successful bands in rock history.

    Always Amazing

by EdJT on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

U2's production was fantastic. The screens, lighting, stage made up for one great show. What they did with the event is enough to push anyone doubting whether to see them for the first or seventh time( like me). Innovation is what U2's stage shows are. All others will follow. I loved the camera angles for the video screens they used, the black and white grainy image it produced, it was very rock n' roll. Anyone looking to get into production of this magnitude, this show is your benchmark. Music always great

    U2- good as ever!

by mary33333 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

The stage was crazy. Lenny was good, played for about 1 hr or less. Thought he'd be better, but the whole crowd wasn't there yet. U2 didnt begin playing until about 9 (concert supposedly began "promtly at 7." U2 absolutely had all the energy of their past decades. Lots of great music. The stage was amazing. The screen was increadible. It allowed even the nosebleed section to get a great view.

At age 64, I always find the base excessive as it makes the singing hard to understand. But for younger people it is no problem.

    U2 tired in la

by indymind on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

They hit the stage a little late. Gracious as always not mentioning the 1 1/2 year delay only suggesting we were all 2 years older. Bono's voice was tired and the Edge filled in a lot more than usual. I will never by day to two tickets again of any concert. Poor Lenny was just warming up the crowd as they were mostly in the parking lot when he came on. He played his hits. After watching the Black eyed peas last time around Lenny was a let down too. I came expecting a show and got to tired acts.Love Lenny and U2. Hate second day shows. Maybe next time they will give it a two day break. $25 parking felt like a rip off. $40 t shirts felt like a rip off. $11 drinks felt like a rip off. Now I remember why I stopped going to concerts a decade ago. It would have been better to buy their pasadena show on DVD.

    U2 was amazing!

by Kimber25 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

I bought these U2 tickets for my husband (huge U2 fan) a couple of years ago. We were so sad when it was postponed for a full year, but this concert completly made up for it. Lenny Kravitz as the opening act was so great! U2 was amazing!! The music never seemed to stop and the big screen was great. It was like we were in a music video! We would go to this concert over and over again!

    U2 brings the circus

by pittboy on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

I have seen many U2 shows starting in 1984. of the many i have seen there have been some moving and intimate performances . this show was just way too big, way to many people and way too much of a spectacle, i really hope the band goes back to the arena shows at some point which i think are way better! on the other hand, sound was great andthey are a great live band!!!

    U2 360- most impressive/entertaining concert ever

by JDinLA on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

I'm a U2 fan. A big one. I own the entire discography and know the lyrics to at least 30% of their songs (that's a lot given their MASSIVE collection of songs.) My girlfriend enjoys their music, but wouldn't have called herself a "fan." Not anymore. She's now sold. First, she realized how much of U2 she knew and liked. Second, the concert was her favorite of all time... and with good reason. The stage was unbelievable. Seriously... the engineering, planning, and effort that went into the "production" of the concert was unmatched. It really added a lot of depth to the concert... which I didn't think would be that important when you have the music of U2... but it really added a lot. Seriously.. unbelievable. And the music. They played 25+ songs, 20 of which were classics or singles. They played ALL their biggest hits which totally surprised me. They've probably played Sunday Bloody Sunday 2,000 times in their lives and yet, it was as if they were playing it for the first time. So engaged with the crowd, energized to be at a 2nd night concert in Anaheim, CA of all places. They really do give it their all every night and everyone there knew it. Awesome concert. Best ever.

    Really Good Concert!

by happyoptimistic88 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

U2 is really good live, Bono was great the entire night! I must compliment the 360 Tour idea. The lighting effects were great, as well as the stage effects and the stage structure. Bono owned the outer stage when he walked around it, very cool!

    great show, poor sound

by 19195555 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

As always U2 was fantastic--the only problem was not being able to understand anything Bono was saying. We didn't know what he'd said until we read the review in the Register this morning. I think there was so much bass that higher sounds were washed out. Still....they're the greatest band in the world today. I love them!
