About

Few bands in rock music history have reached the level of superstardom (and have maintained the staying power) of Dublin-based band U2. Due to a winning combination of innovative, ever-evolving songwriting, spectacular live shows, and front-man Bono's penchant for political/humanitarian endeavors, U2 have managed to remain an A-list act since emerging onto the music scene with their debut album Boy in 1980. With phenomenal album sales (every album they've released since 1987's The Joshua Tree has hit Billboard's number one spot), a plethora of hit singles ("New Years Day, " "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "Pride," "I Still haven't Found What I'm looking For," "With or Without You," "Mysterious Ways," Beautiful Day," -- and the list goes on) U2 have established themselves as the premier rock band of the 1980s and far beyond. Their sound has evolved from post-punk (guitarist The Edge created a signature sound with his sweeping, delay-heavy guitar work), to arena rock, to blues-inspired rock, to electronic/techno pop and back again. With their 2005 release, How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb, U2 treat fans to sounds both classic and new-- reminding us exactly why these Dubliners have managed to become one of the most successful bands in rock history.

    U2 Rocks the Stadium

by MikkyH on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

What a production! While the sound (typical of a stadium) was a bit muddied by what sounded like too much bottom end, at least at the top of the stadium, it was still good. And, the amazing video screen helped us to see very well along with some mind-boggling videos and tricks with the screen descending to the stage, both in broken up form and as a whole. Dynamic and exciting. U2 knows how to play to a giant crowd and still make us all feel part of it.

Why are concerts held in baseball stadiums?

by Circusguru on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

Saw U2 at Angels Stadium Friday night and while U2 was OK, the facility is about as bad as you can get for a concert. Admittedly I was up in the nosebleed seats but the sound was mushy, couldn't hear Bono over the music and it took almost an hour in line to get through security. Lenny Kravitz opened and seemed to be in a hurry to finish so he could leave. Don't know if he had another gig that night or not, but he didn't even play for an hour. Left the crowd wanting more and somewhat let down. U2 came out and played a conservative show, didn't take any chances except for one political statement on human rights in Burma which was news to me. We left before the encore to catch the train and thus heard U2 come out and play again when we were outside the stadium behind center field. I could actually hear the concert better from there! Could have just paid my $25 to park and stayed out in the parking lot..

    Another Outstanding U2 Concert

by ConcertAGoGo36 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

This was my 3rd time at a U2 concert and I absolutely LOVED IT! I have been a fan of the group for many, many years and listening to their songs live is breathtaking. The sound quality is great no matter if it is Bono (Paul) singing or instruments being played. Also, the different lighting effects that takes place during each song adds to the WOW factor. U2 never disappoints and if you have never seen them live then you are missing out.

Awesome show, worth the year and a half waiting!

by feeesh on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

From the time i originally bought the tickets to seeing it was around ayear and a half but worth it. And hadnt realized Lenny was opening. he sounded fabulous. And U2 was rockin it as good as always, they havent lost a thing! Our seats were around the back. They were ok seats since it was 360 degrees and you could see the band come in and take pictures before going on stage from here which was cool. Wish they wouldve come around our side a bit more often though.

    U2 Knows How To Rock

by ScoopSimmons59 on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

U2 was amazing. Been a fan since before The Joshua Tree, and thinking about the concert still gives me goose bumps. If I could afford it, I'd go to every concert they have.

    U2 is a must see!!!!

by DaniGuru on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

If u only see a few concerts in ur life, make sure U2 is one of them. hi energy, quality sound, anything hit after hit. Bono has a way of making a crowd of 60,000 seem intimate. The band feeds off of the fans energy so the show just gets better as the night progresses.

Outstanding, Magical, Tremendous, what else can I say. U-2 is the biggest and baddest band in the world! The show was spectacular and the sound for an outside venue was perfect.

    EQ not good on vocals.

The EQ on the vocals was poor. Musical instruments were easy to hear but not the vocals.

    U2 Anaheim night 2

by radiohedonist on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

U2 was amazing and well worth it. The traffic to get in and out of the area is terrible. I live in Pasadena and I will chose not to return to anaheim stadium.

U2 is more of a 'show' than a concert

by jeffsob on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

saw the Saturday show at Angel Stadium. What struck me is how such a performance is more like a high end vegas show than a concert. The latter is akin to the band jamming on stage, with some light/special effects, but mostly about the music and the band playing together the 360 Tour was definitely a 'Show'. The music was great, the acting and stage performances very good. At times, the stage and all the walking around by the band members was distracting and somewhat disjointed. Probably took a lot of choreography to get it all right. Anyways, after watching the show, and wondering how much all of this staging must have cost, i understand why our tickets were so outrageously priced. Just like a Vegas Show!

    U2 rocked our world!

by omniohl on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

After waiting for 2 years we had the show of a lifetime the staging was outstanding, I would not stand as many did for this show you want to set higher up to see the full stage! It was LOUD! Great tribute to Amnesty International and Clarence Clemons! Please remind the crew to not have cars parked in the tunnel of stadiums with lights on very distracting! Great show well worth the money and sit up high!

    Amazing from beginning to end

by spiritsfire on 6/20/11Angel Stadium of Anaheim - Anaheim

Lenny was the perfect opening act! The sound and visual effects were truly amazing. Although many of their songs are 20 years old U2 performed them as if they were on their original tour. Outstanding show and one more off my bucket list!
