About

Tyler Childers is carving his own path in country music. Following the success of his 2017 breakout album Purgatory, the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter has earned 11 career Grammy nominations across folk, Americana, and country categories. Childers' 2025 release, Snipe Hunter, marked his seventh studio album; across the record, he weaves Appalachian storytelling with elements of rock and gospel. Childers remains connected to his Appalachian roots through his Hickman Holler Appalachian Relief Fund, which he established in 2020 with his wife, singer-songwriter Senora May, to bring awareness and financial support to vulnerable communities.

  • Wonderful but could have been better

by Jennyfromtheknox on 8/18/23Rating: 3 out of 5

The show was amazing, one of the best ones Ive been to and Im a veteran concert goer. It was a spiritual experience if you will. The only issues I had was with the venue. The bathrooms are super far if you are on the Budlight lawn, and if you do need to go you have to fight the crowd. The bigger issue I had was we were told we cannot bring camp chairs that sit higher than 9 inches off the ground to avoid blocking the view of your neighbors, however everyone stood the entire time so bringing a taller chair would have not blocked anyone. Second there is no room to walk among the crowd of people on the lawn. I would recommend outlining some spaces, perhaps the side of the blankets we are allow to have, to give people somewhat of a section to place their chairs and blankets while leaving room for an isle. I wont come to this venue again unless Im able to get tickets in the section where they have actual seats.

  • THE BEST

by Sara on 8/18/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The best show I've ever been to. Tyler Childers is pure talent and dedicated to the art. I would see him 100 times more.

Amazing night @ an awesome venue!! Tyler Childers did not disappoint!

  • Tyler Childers and the Food Stamps

by Slater on 8/16/23Rating: 5 out of 5

10/10 concert. Literally the best music I’ve ever heard live and Tyler looked very hyped to be up on stage! Great venue, great easy ticket access. Would recommend

  • Tyler was good the venue sucked

by Moejo on 8/16/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Tyler did well, played a lot of great songs. The venue was horrible. The sound was awful on the lawn. we couldn’t even hear him when he spoke to the audience. A lot of road noise and trains throughout. No shade whatsoever at the venue. You can tell they did not take the sun position into account at all. The arena was too flat and needed more grading for better visibility. more Tyler! No more Red Hat amphitheater!

  • Tyler is AMAZING!!!

by Carolina on 8/16/23Rating: 5 out of 5

What an amazing live performance. One of those artists that sounds even better than on his albums cut in a recording studio. Can't say enough about his sincere interaction with his fans and the heart and soul you feel him pouring out, into every single note. Following him to Kentucky for New Year's show. Can't wait!!!!

  • Overpriced and didn't play Shake the Frost

by Boots on 8/16/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Extremely disappointing and I'm a huge fan. He barely talked and at one point said he had a cold. CANCEL THE SHOW THEN, bro. We all paid too much for you to blow your nose between every song and skip the hits with no encore. AVOID this concert. Lame as hell.

  • tyler childers

Best show ive been to in a long time. Going to see him again on friday in wilmington. Highly recommend!

  • Loved every moment

by Tabtbow on 8/16/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We bought these tickets close to a year before and it was worth the wait. Tyler and the band pour their heart and soul into each show. My husband and I have been fans for a long time and both of us agree, "You haven't heard Tyler Childers until you've heard him live." One of the best shows we have ever attended.

  • Loved it!

by LTT on 8/16/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Tyler Childers is an amazing musician and performer. Besides the heat outside (lol) we had an amazing time!

  • Great show. Acoustics were bad.

by Sully on 8/16/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Do not sit behind overhead walkway. Could not understand any spoken word and only some song vocals. I walked down in front of the skybox superstructure and all was good. Under and behind was bad. Poor acoustics.

  • Not that great

by Tim McGraws daddy on 8/14/23Rating: 2 out of 5

Said it was to start at 6:30, usually they need a little time before they come out, but by 8:15 we were done listening to these other bands and left. He didn’t come out till 8:30. That’s on us for leaving, but we ain’t paying to be there for 6 hours and see him for one. (We did hear a bobcat screaming for the first time)

  • Great Concert but prices have become way too much.

by Bigfan on 8/14/23Rating: 3 out of 5

So expensive, that it can be hard to enjoy. The music is great but ticket and drink prices are so high that it makes you sick!

  • Awesome concert!

by Lori on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Tyler was amazing and sounded great! Everyone around us in the lawn section was enjoying the show! Thank you for coming to Maryland! Please come back soon!

  • Awesome Concert!!!

by BLL on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Tyler plays and sings with such passion! The show started with just Tyler on stage for a few acoustic songs that the audience loved and sang along to. The rest of the concert included all of the very talented musicians in the band. The sound quality was great for the lyrics and music but neither I nor one around me could understand what Tyler was saying when he was talking to the audience. I really wish that could hear the stories that he was telling the audience but all the words were garbled. But still, an amazing concert!

  • such a great performer!

by BG on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

His voice is so good live, his band is awesome....packed house at a great venue.

  • One of a kind

    by B.A. on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Tyler Childers was awesome - just a pure raw performer who gives you your money’s worth. There are few like him, both in terms of sincerity and timbre. The venue (Meriwether Post Pavilion) is also great, and well-run, but it needs better instructions and signage on parking. The opening act on this show - the normally-great Drive By Truckers - were a disjointed mess on this night, with their sound cranked up to painful levels amplifying the problem.

  • Awesome show!

by Tyler on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Best show I’ve been to this year! Great crowd and the band sounded awesome.

  • Awesome

by Debi on 8/14/23Rating: 5 out of 5

One of the best concerts I've ever been to. Tyler is fantastic

  • Great bands, but...

by Showtime on 8/14/23Rating: 3 out of 5

...the sound at Merriweather was bad at the back of the pavilion. The lawn sounded better. All in all a good show, easy to navigate the venue.
