About

The Irish are coming! The Irish are coming! Northern Irish dance-punk trio Two Door Cinema Club have stormed the urban scene with their fresh indie new-wave sound. Think of them as your ticket to catchy dance music without the guilt.

If you've been to any cool-kid parties with plenty of PBR or watched a Microsoft Outlook commercial you've heard Two Door Cinema Club. The debut single "Something Good Can Work" was originally released in 2009 on a trend-setting compilation from fashion house/record label Maison Kitsunè. If you can't remember it catch it on Youtube (it has nearly 15 million views).

Following in the footsteps of French dance-pop phenomena Phoenix and '80s icon Duran Duran, Two Door Cinema Club recorded their debut 2010 album Tourist History at Eastcote Studios in London. Mixed by Phillip Zdar, his vision was to  punch up the beat with rich bass and foot-stomping rhythm. While on tour with Alt-J, Chvrches, Peace and St Lucia, stopping a venues like Fillmore (Philadelphia), their live sets turned into impromptu dance parties, not even the most passive fans couldn't resist the groove.

Their sophomore album Beacon, produced by Jacknife Lee was released in September 2012 and reached No. 17 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with  singles" Sleep Alone" and "Sun." Well thought hooks, good beats, and fearless when it comes to having fun, Two Door Cinema Club is going to have many honorary members wanting to join in.

Two Door Cinema Club was spot on

by Gepivo on 9/25/11The Warfield - San Francisco

Me and my younger brother went to this concert for his birthday and I have to say my money was well spent. The war field was the perfect setting there were no bad seats. I happen to be sitting on the balcony. The lonely forest and group love was a good addition to the tour. I hadn't really listen to them before, but I will after. There were some technical difficulties, but it create some banter between the artists and fans. The light visuals were beautiful and I didn't even notice there was a problem until they said. The singing and instrumentals were awesome, except the microphone would cutoff all of a sudden, but people just filled in the blanks cause everyone was singing along.

    ASDFGHJKL.

So this was my first concert.. It was so great! Absolutely loved it. The preceding bands were really good as well, and I'm definitely going to look into going to their concerts in November, I believe. The bands preceding TDCC were The Lonely Forest and Grouplove. Overall, the whole concert was a great experience, and I'll definitely want to see them when they go on tour again with their new album, which they played a few songs from that night. Cheers!

    Strobe Lights are Necessary

by McFarl on 9/25/11The Warfield - San Francisco

The opening act Grouplove was the highlight of the Two Door Cinema Club show. I did not enjoy the strobe light effects during the Two Door Cinema Club set. They detracted from the music and made it really hard even to look at the stage.

After seeing this band, I can die happy now. I've always been a fan of Two Door Cinema Club and they are a group of young, talented lads from Bangor, Ireland.

This night offered a truely great great line-up. The warmups did their job quite well, especially The Lonley Forest. Grouplove was a 3 star this nght, but TDCC rocked the house - the audience was innextacy the whole time, dispute the band leaving the stage for a quicky due to tech problems,

    Great Show! Great Band!

by ConcertenthusiestErik on 9/22/11The Royale - Boston

The band's performance was phenomenal. Not only were they great at playing, but they were also really nice and interacted with the audience alot. They talk to the audience multiple times, were really energetic, and Alex (singer) even danced next to a guy when a crowd surfer got on stage. Overall a great great show for any indie or rock lover.

Great show but a little bit too short since they only have 1 record so far!

The Lonely Forest was great, although I missed a song or 2. Bombay Bicycle Club was not good nor original. Two Door Cinema Club was fantastic! Terminal 5 remains a terrible venue, but overall the show was really fun.

    TDCC IS AMAZINGG

by MrsTrimble on 9/17/11Terminal 5 - New York

The music was amazing! The only reason I did not rate this event 5 stars was because it was extremely crowded to the point of being uncomfortable.

    Bands were great, crowd...ehh

by partietraumatic on 9/17/11Terminal 5 - New York

Two Door Cinema Club was great as always and so was Bombay Bicycle Club and The Lonely Forest. The venue was good, too, as I usually like shows at Terminal 5. I wish the show was 18+ though, because the crowd was a little odd. It would have been better if I had gotten there earlier and headed straight upstairs. Otherwise, good show.

    Such a great experience!

by RyanLovesTemperTrap on 9/16/11Newport Music Hall - Columbus

Two Door Cinema Club was wild. They were extremely happy to be with the crowd and played until we were tired. The band played the entirety of their album, Tourist History, and some brand new songs too! It's been a while since the last time I've seen them and I won't hesitate to go again.

    What a great show!

by Ireland92 on 9/15/11Newport Music Hall - Columbus

All three acts were perfect together and definitely solidified a simply awesome alternative rock show. Lonely Forest played their best ones that got the crowd going, then Bombay Bicycle Club slowed it down and let us unwind for a bit....until Two Door came on and just rocked out almost every song available on iTunes. So much dancing, jumping, screaming, and just a really good show!
