Cute but not fab
by MP on 12/27/23The Theater at MSG - New YorkI’ve been to a number of Cirque du Soleil shows and this was the most underwhelming one. It was cute, but was not on brand. It didn’t wow me like all other Cirque shows I’ve seen.

A thrilling interpretation of the well-known classic poem "A Visit from Saint Nicholas", this joyful show about the virtues of generosity and friendship promises to leave a lasting impression on families this holiday season. 'Twas the Night Before..., Cirque du Soleil's first-ever holiday production, is a whirlwind of love, holiday cheer, riotous fun, and adorably endearing characters that will establish a new tradition for families to treasure.

The show was full of entertainment Juggling roller skating Aerials stunts scenery was so colorful and just Good Fun the whole time The theatre was very warm but the show was so good we were able to ignore it
Not up to par with other Cirque performances - quite a bit of filler and less of the usual remarkable athleticism of all the performers, especially in contrast with the productions in Vegas. Might be somewhat due to the venue - a stage versus a center ring - but also, the seats at the MSG theater are not high enough to prevent the head of the person in front from blocking one's view. Both detracted from the sense of connection with the performers that makes their talents and feats so remarkable.
The whole family loved it especially the kids. It was very entertaining and everyone wooed and wowed the whole time!
Cirque Du Soleil never misses. And Twas the Night was no different. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed. Amazing from start to finish!
The parking was horrendous. Arrive an hour early to get into the parking garage. We ended up parking somewhere else and walking. Show started late. My guess would be all the people trying to park. There were no ushers on the floor. Our view was interrupted 3 times over seating errors Great show that I would see again, just not at this venue.
Great acts to help tell a traditional story so try new interpretations. Some of the performers were just amazing. I learnt there are 5 ways to ride a bike.
I was disappointed in the overall performance. I was expecting more of a regal and sensual performance given its Cirque du Soleil and instead I received more of a child-like theme not meant for mature audiences (I am a 36F). The performance did not live up to the advertisement and marketing presented on Instagram. I wish a disclaimer was made detailing that the show is not inline with traditional CDS performances.
Play was ok good if you are in elementary school or if you like shows for kids. Horrible seating in section 304 could barely see as there were high rails blocking our view and we were so far away hard to get a good view
GOOD SHOW!!!! I WIIL LOOK FOR TICKETS NEXT YEAR HOPE THERE HERE!
This was our 6th Cirque du Soleil show, and as always, it exceeded our expectations. They really find new ways to blow away the audience with every show and performance. Unfortunately - their performance was interrupted constantly by rude and inconsiderate attendees. At least 50 people walked in and had to find their seats 30-40 minutes late. The show didn’t even start until 3:20 - with a 3:00pm start time. No dimming of the lights or an announcement to signal the audience to take their seats. This blocked the views and distracted the audience (and likely the performers) for the first 30 minutes of the show. Throughout the entire performance people kept getting up and blocking our views and going in and out. A man in our row actually got up to throw a can away within 5 minutes of the show ending. People rushed out early to beat the rush and blocked our view for the last few minutes of the show. I wish there were an announcement about getting the audience seated, and then again about remaining seated for the duration of the show (I understand there are emergencies but throwing a can away isn’t one.) I wish staff would’ve helped enforce these procedures as well. I can’t imagine how distracting this was to all audience members and performers.
The show was amazing. The storyline was clear and the performers were incredible. The only challenge was the venue- the seats aren’t raked well, so children or those of us who are shorter or average height could have some difficulty seeing the whole stage depending on who sat in front of you- and we sat in one of the further back sections, not on the floor in front of the stage which seemed quite level. It was also frustrating that many people came in late and walked up and down the aisles and getting whole rows to stand up so they could get to their seats, blocking the view of many- I hope the venue can control this a little better, though I’m sure they tried to do their best. The performance itself was incredible and would absolutely recommend it to anyone!
I wouldn’t consider this your typical cirque de soleil show, but it is highly entertaining. The upbeat, fast paced show keeps you engaged and entertained throughout! I truly enjoyed how modern and sophisticated the show was. By far the best Christmas show I’ve seen to date! I was expecting a little more acrobatics since it was cirque but ultimately, left very satisfied. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 and not 5 is because I felt there was a little more down time in between scenes, considering there didn’t really seem to be any set changes. Otherwise, the show is for kids and adults. I would recommend to everyone!
Entertainment for kids and adults. Music was great very upbeat and lively. Did wish was more acrobatic performances that cirque is known for
I attends the show with my wife and 3 daughters ages 14, 6 & 4. They were all captivated by the performance and music. Perfect way to spend Christmas Eve in the big City.
Sorry. Just was not worth almost $1000 for four adults.
Very simple acts, average dancers, godd music and production. Might be interested for a 4 years old kids, not worth the money I paid. I have found better dancers and acts in a resort in México
This was a last minute event purchase to spend the evening with family. It was an amazing show and will definitely recommend to anyone with our with out small children. There wasn’t a dull moment and was very entertaining!
Twas the Night Before... by Cirque du Soleil is a mesmerizing spectacle that seamlessly weaves together breathtaking acrobatics, captivating storytelling, and festive charm. The production's unique blend of creativity and holiday spirit creates a magical experience for audiences of all ages. The impeccable performances and imaginative set design make this show a must-see for anyone seeking joy and wonder during the holiday season. My kids loved show. As an adult i was expecting a little more but it is a great production.
Lack of respect for the performers. A lot of late attendees, talking throughout the performance. No effort to make it feel festive. Forgettable experience I’m afraid
