    Enjoyable day

by pixaol on 12/29/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The exhibits are really interesting and it's nice to actually see the items instead of just looking at a picture

    Not quite up to snuff

by Anonymous on 12/29/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The ads show the golden head, etc. The exhibit did nt have any of the big, gold burial boxes -- the items they had were interesting but I was expecting at least one of the big, gold items

    Amazing presentation

by druvee on 12/29/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The King Tut exhibit was an amazing exhibit that was put together and presented in such a way that it felt like you were really there, uncovering it along with the archeologists. Informational, beautiful pieces of art. Makes me want to get a rearing cobra on my head.

    Good show

by jbollinger on 12/28/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

I thought the show was worthwhile seeing. There were not as many artifacts as I had expected, but I was spoiled as I had seen the Tutankhamun exhibit at the Chicago Field Museum in 1977. I would not recommend the audio tour as I found it distracting and there was plenty of information on the exhibits. The movie was wothwhile seeing.

    Tut that Rocks

by sspBoulder on 12/28/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Wow, this was a well put together exhibit. Instead of overwhelm, it was displayed with just the right amount of information and lots of space to wander. I learned more than at most exhibits of this magnitude!

Great show, just crowded w/ rude people

by koser60 on 12/26/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

I am glad I finally was able to see the King Tut displays with my two older sons, I thought they might be bored but they were enthralled. I now want to travel to Cairo and see all of the other items from the tomb if that is ever possible. The displays and CT scans were facinating. I am happy though that I did not purchase the on line $99 VIP tours as once inside, you still have to wade through all of the rude people who seem content to park in front of each display. I wish ushers would help move them along, or maybe stagger out the number of people entering for each of the shows.. At times you felt like cattle due to the crowds but it was still worth it. I would pay extra to be able to go to an "adults only". no kids in strollers, babies, etc. event of this magnitude if it was offered.

    King Tut

by Anonymous on 12/26/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The biggest problem we saw with this exhibit was the line to get in. It would have been nice to know that the museum recommended getting there 30 mins in advance of the ticket times. Nowhere on the tickets, on the ticketing website, or on the museum's website was there any indication about this recommendation. The first we realized this recommendation existed was when we got to the museum and picked up a map of the exhibit! We were very disappointed that there weren't more actual artifacts from Tutankhamun's burial site. In fact, there were very few artifacts from his burial site.

Thousands tramped thru the tombs. Air was Foul.

by dnatravels on 12/26/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Yesterday's King Tut exhibit was an exhilarating exhibit... given the ability of the ancients as engineers, agriculturist, jewelers & most importantly scribes. One wonders why Denver Museum of Art pushed over 5000 peeps through the exhibit in one day. ‎$38 a pop for the exhibit, audio guide & 3-D Zahi Hawaas show, the crowd density really made the exhibit a downer. The crowd was at least 150 - 250 peeps in one chamber at a time. If you wanted to see a particular exhibit, wait 5 minutes so you can look over someones' shoulder. Denver ART Museum probably broke every fire marshal's law on the books. DAM! Would I have attended had I known? No, definitely NOT. I would have waited another 33 years. Tut's magnificent primary funerary mask nor the mummy are on display. Best place to see Tut, Family & Friends, is in Cairo.

Was expecting much more. There were no mummies, only pictures of them. Should have ben more jewelry. Totally lacked excitement. Do not recommend.

    Warm and crowded

by Orchid16 on 12/24/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

As usual for this museum, the placards for each object were too small, such that people crowded to get close enough to read the information. There were several objects of interest that I missed in the Cairo museum, hence it was worthwhile. However, people did not move quickly, partly because we had difficulty getting close enough to read the labels. The rooms were over-heated and under-ventilated. Had I a crystal ball before buying tickets, I would have skipped it. The few benches were quickly taken by the more youthful, making for looong, painful standing.

    Egyptian Treasures

by Mazin on 12/24/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

We have seen Tut exhibits in various museums all over the world. This was by far the best staging of all of them.

    Tut was informative and memorable.

by Reecher on 12/23/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

On entering the display our initial thought was that it was very crowded. The majority of the display was very well done and gave one a sense of the majasty of the Egyption empire. Some of the displays could have been improved with additional information to better explain their significance. We were somewhat disappointed with the limited number of gold pieces in the display. Overall we enjoyed the exhibition but be warned, if you do not do well in close quarters with many, many people you would do well to pass on this display.

    False advertising

by Suremon on 12/23/10DAM - Denver

All advertisements have a picture of the classic golden King Tut mask, yet this mask is not a part of the exhibit. In fact, NONE of the several King Tut sarcophogi are there. Turns out they no longer leave Egypt. They don't tell you that, not even in the fine print, and you don't realize the trick until you are walking out the back door. I heard more than one other say - "did I miss a room"? There are some interesting things to see and we fairly well enjoyed it, but the false advertising borders on criminal. They should call it something like "Pharohs" or "Miscellaneous Ancient Egyptian items."

King Tut - Catch Him Before He Leaves!

by StElmoQn on 12/23/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

Great exhibit...very educational and entertaining at the same time. Glad I got to see it again - first time was at the actual Egptian Antiquities Museum in Cairo. This isn't Cairo, but it's good. My only beef was that the souvenirs were a little cheesy and way too expensive.

    Nice display but limited

by OCSinger on 12/21/10Denver Art Museum - Denver

The Museum did a very nice display of the items but the majority of them had nothing to do with Tutankhamun, they were other Egyptian Pharohs (which the event name implies - I was just surprised that there were mostly others and less of the Tut items). They were still nice to see and the audio tour is well worth the price. I have to hand it to you Coloradians, you were quiet, respectful and courteous throughout the display even though it was very crowded.

where ever you are you must try to see this exhibit

Was disappointed that there were no sarcaphogi of King Tut on display... Felt like the whole exhibit was leading up to King Tut and then there weren't very many items related to King Tut. I felt as if it had been promoted as "King Tut" comes to Denver this "once in a lifetime" event and you pay a large sum of money and then you don't really get to see that much.
