Trans-Siberian Orchestra On Tour

The holidays rock a whole lot harder than they ever have thanks to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance, a symphonic sense of scope, and an eye-popping visual presentation complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of today's top-selling acts, with over 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999.

Now, to celebrate the band's 20th year on the road, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is mounting an all-new production of the show that first turned them into an arena-rock phenomenon. First performed in 1999 and recorded for a TV special – which became just as much of a holiday staple as ‘The Sound of Music' – ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve' was conceived by Paul O'Neill, TSO's original mastermind. A veteran producer for acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill was inspired by the rock operas of The Who and the grandly theatrical concerts of Pink Floyd to create something that was even more spectacular. Together with Savatage members Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli, O'Neill developed a unique project that married the spirit of the season with all the exhilarating sounds, operatic grandeur, and visual bravura that fans had come to expect of rock gods. After the massive success of TSO's first two albums, ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories' and ‘The Christmas Attic,' O'Neill and his team took it on the road (and TV screens) with similarly blockbuster results.

Though TSO's repertoire would extend far beyond holiday songs to encompass the greats of classical music on ‘Beethoven's Last Night' and O'Neill's own original rock operas like ‘Night Castle,' their thrilling and highly singular take on seasonal music remains their trademark. Tragically, O'Neill's passing in 2017 robbed the music world of a true visionary. But his team of friends and collaborators in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra honor his legacy with a new production of ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Past' that both preserves and revitalizes a landmark merger of music, theatrics, storytelling, and seasonal cheer that yielded an international phenomenon.

    Absolutely Amazing

by Mike R on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

This show was just one of the best ones I've been to from the lighting, performance, and sound standpoints. Members went out into the crowd to interact with guests even. Stage show was right up there with Iron Maiden, In This Moment, and Alice Cooper.

    Pittsburgh TSO Show

by Patty on 12/26/19PPG Paints Arena - Pittsburgh

I love TSO! This was my 4th time seeing their show in Pittsburgh. It was awesome as usual. I only go to the shows that are before Xmas. It means more to see it then, I think. I really hope they are scheduled before Xmas in Pittsburgh from now on. Sundays are perfect with an afternoon performance.

    Awesome Experience

by Pickle on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

The performance was visually and musically stimulating--the Storyline was absolutely in line with what most in this country believe to be the reason for Christmas. All the Performers are absolutely Premium talent and gave an invigorating performance. This was my first opportunity but will not be my last. I highly recommend TSO for anyone desiring to be entertained and uplifted at Christmas.

    Had a great time

    by M. C. on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

Tickets came on time, getting the tickets was easy. Sat next to a mother and kid, who was about 10 tears old. He seemed a bit apprehensive at first the the lights and noise but as the TSO got into their performance his enthusiasm grew and watching my son, too excited made me quite happy.

    Less than expected

    by J. F. on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

The first and last half hours were good. However, the middle (story part) dragged on.

    Not what was expected

by D. on 12/26/19American Airlines Center - Dallas

For years I heard it was a great Christmas show of songs and lasers...but after 30 min I was ready to fall asleep, thinking it would get better it didn't and left early...light show was ok , did not like the story telling or the solo singers. I know many love it, just not me.

    Have a very very Christmas

by Dirty Daddy on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

Overall show was better than last year. This is a very Christian oriented show (I am not): The reference comparing Palestine to Darfur was WAY off base and seemed a serious if indirect slap at Israel. 2.5 hours is too long without an intermission but they had another show to do

by S. on 12/26/19American Airlines Center - Dallas

The TSO holiday show was 2 1/2 hours of great music and spectacular light shows. I would recommend going to anyone. The music was just the right volume and sung words were understandable and not drowned out! It was a great time!

    Great

by Monica on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

This is my second year going and this year I took our boys. My 12 yo was bored the first hour and literally fell asleep. Perhaps make it more entertaining for the duration of the show for kids of all ages. Otherwise, this was a great show and still love and will definitely take my nieces next year.

    Still awesome after 16 years!

    by J. M. on 12/26/19Prudential Center - Newark

This was the 16th year my family and I have been attending this concert, and I say it every year, it’s like seeing it for the first time every time. The music, effects and singing are outstanding! Such a welcome break from all the Christmas craziness. Really drives home the true meaning of Christmas.

Always enjoy their sound and light show. Missed the violinist above the crowd like she did last year. But, still great.

Cool light show , boring music

by Souljourner on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

I’ve always wanted to see this show live. Once I began to suspect the majority of the music wasn’t being played live and likely pre-recorded, I quickly lost interest. The giveaway was a violinist acting out the strokes played by the cello in Christmas Eve/Sarajevo... Also, their less popular songs, featuring very talented vocalists, seemed to be created more for the purpose of showcasing their pipes rather than creating memorable tunes or melodies like their more known numbers. Bottom line is , we almost fell asleep 45 minutes into performance and walked out to beat the traffic
