Trans-Siberian Orchestra On Tour

The holidays rock a whole lot harder than they ever have thanks to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance, a symphonic sense of scope, and an eye-popping visual presentation complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of today's top-selling acts, with over 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999.

Now, to celebrate the band's 20th year on the road, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is mounting an all-new production of the show that first turned them into an arena-rock phenomenon. First performed in 1999 and recorded for a TV special – which became just as much of a holiday staple as ‘The Sound of Music' – ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve' was conceived by Paul O'Neill, TSO's original mastermind. A veteran producer for acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill was inspired by the rock operas of The Who and the grandly theatrical concerts of Pink Floyd to create something that was even more spectacular. Together with Savatage members Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli, O'Neill developed a unique project that married the spirit of the season with all the exhilarating sounds, operatic grandeur, and visual bravura that fans had come to expect of rock gods. After the massive success of TSO's first two albums, ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories' and ‘The Christmas Attic,' O'Neill and his team took it on the road (and TV screens) with similarly blockbuster results.

Though TSO's repertoire would extend far beyond holiday songs to encompass the greats of classical music on ‘Beethoven's Last Night' and O'Neill's own original rock operas like ‘Night Castle,' their thrilling and highly singular take on seasonal music remains their trademark. Tragically, O'Neill's passing in 2017 robbed the music world of a true visionary. But his team of friends and collaborators in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra honor his legacy with a new production of ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Past' that both preserves and revitalizes a landmark merger of music, theatrics, storytelling, and seasonal cheer that yielded an international phenomenon.

    No Thanks

by Bit on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

I must have gotten the two worst seats in the house. On my left was a woman who needed to purchase tickets for two seats - because of her size, the arm rest needed to remain up and her arms were in my side the entire concert. She also must have been very warm because she was sweating, and the moisture crept through my clothes and I had damp pants and clammy skin. My friend also had a challenging seat mate to her right. A woman brought her baby who could not have been more than three months old. To her credit, she did place headphones over the baby’s ears. However, during the concert, she kept feeding the baby and jiggling her leg constantly at a high rate of speed - the shaking never stopped. I actually was feeling a touch of motion sickness. My friend and I finally got up and left the concert. As far as the concert goes, I have been to several Trans Siberian Orchestra shows. I was not a fan of this one - I couldn’t follow the story line (less narration would be better), there was too much singing, and absolutely not enough of just instrumentals by the musicians. I am not sure that I will return.

    Spectacular Show!

    by P. B. on 12/26/19AT&T Center - San Antonio

The lights were crazy over the top and the music was loud! My wife loved it! She’s been wanting to see TSO for several years and it was better than she could have ever imagined! Missed several light shows this year and this more than made up for it! Only wished they had turned the mic slightly lower, and had better seats. Looking forward to adding this to our Christmas tradition! Until next year, keep rocking!

    In AWE!

by Elsa on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

From the moment they took the stage until the very end, my Niece and I were completely mesmerized by the story telling, singing, instrumentals, and lights. What an incredible group of artists, I've never seen anything like it before and can't wait to see them again next year. I've told everyone who would listen, it's a MUST see. I'm just sad that it took me this long to see them for the first time. WOW!

    Best I've ever seen

by DJ Brian Crow on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

Everything was pinpoint accurate - no mistakes. These musicians are fantastic. I've listened to them for years and have played their music at many events I've done. Seeing them live was beyond amazing. From start to finish it was captivating and exciting like a roller coaster. I highly recommend seeing them live. Their production crew were out of this world. The lighting, FX and everything that went with it were top notch. I'm still blown away.

    Excellent Music & Light Show

by Ron4Packers on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

TSO again provided a sensation set of phenomenal music and a stunning light show. My favorite "Old City Bar" was prominent at the start of the show in a visual and then sung later on. It is a must see event each Christmas season.

Wish there was MORE rock Christmas music - less talking

    by Mister_Mark on 12/26/19BOK Center - Tulsa

First, if you’ve never seen TSO - buy a ticket and see it at your earliest convenience. It’s a concert you’ll never forget! For those who have seen it before (and ideally for any TSO advisors who might be listening)... I’ve gone to see TSO on 3 different occasions now (starting around 15 years ago) and have been disappointed with the most recent two. The first show seemed to relish in taking Christmas classics AND classical music (i.e. Beethoven, Mozart, etc) and rolling them into a wonderful Christmas-themed ROCK concert. It was fantastic - and absolutely mesmerizing. The latest 2 shows I’ve been to (around 2014 and 2019), added a narrator for a fictional story and softer music throughout, but was still thankfully punctuated with TSO rock-style classics like Nutrocker, Christmas in Sarajevo, etc. Honestly, if they axed the fictional story, narrator, and soft musical additions, I think TSO could be Reason #1 why Classical & Christmas Music reimagined in a rock-style format may be the reason classical music (in general) will be enjoyed for yet another 200 years to come!

    Not their best show

by cmcd on 12/26/19Capital One Arena - Washington

My son and I LOVE TSO, and this was our tenth year attending! We consider ourselves a bit of "TSO experts", if there is such a thing. So when both of us say..."Perhaps we take next year off"...its a good bet the show has "faded" a bit. Their classics are still AMAZING, fun, and energizing...but it seemed too often the crowd would just get fired up, and the band would slow everything down with a less recognizable, slower song. Also, the set was a bit disappointing this year. Not catwalks hanging from the ceiling, no lifts in the back of the stadium where performers would show up. If you've never been to a TSO concert....you must. But we'll take a year or two off. Till next time, TSO!

    Trans-Ciberian Orchestra

by David W on 12/26/19American Airlines Center - Dallas

The concert was very nice and took my mom and step father who really enjoyed it also. But the seats for the American airline center were very small. It was impossible to use the armrest with out infringing on the persons space that's next to you. Wish the public locations had better seating, it would make the over all experience more enjoyable.

We love TSO and look forward to seeing them every Christmas season !!! This is the first year that we had mobile tickets and I have to admit, I was a little bit uneasy about having mobile tickets, but it all worked out - no issues with the tickets and it was such an AWESOME concert as it is each and every year - we are already thinking about next year's show and can't wait to see it !!!
