Trans-Siberian Orchestra On Tour

The holidays rock a whole lot harder than they ever have thanks to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance, a symphonic sense of scope, and an eye-popping visual presentation complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of today's top-selling acts, with over 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999.

Now, to celebrate the band's 20th year on the road, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is mounting an all-new production of the show that first turned them into an arena-rock phenomenon. First performed in 1999 and recorded for a TV special – which became just as much of a holiday staple as ‘The Sound of Music' – ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve' was conceived by Paul O'Neill, TSO's original mastermind. A veteran producer for acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill was inspired by the rock operas of The Who and the grandly theatrical concerts of Pink Floyd to create something that was even more spectacular. Together with Savatage members Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli, O'Neill developed a unique project that married the spirit of the season with all the exhilarating sounds, operatic grandeur, and visual bravura that fans had come to expect of rock gods. After the massive success of TSO's first two albums, ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories' and ‘The Christmas Attic,' O'Neill and his team took it on the road (and TV screens) with similarly blockbuster results.

Though TSO's repertoire would extend far beyond holiday songs to encompass the greats of classical music on ‘Beethoven's Last Night' and O'Neill's own original rock operas like ‘Night Castle,' their thrilling and highly singular take on seasonal music remains their trademark. Tragically, O'Neill's passing in 2017 robbed the music world of a true visionary. But his team of friends and collaborators in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra honor his legacy with a new production of ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Past' that both preserves and revitalizes a landmark merger of music, theatrics, storytelling, and seasonal cheer that yielded an international phenomenon.

  • Wonderful show

by GusKel on 12/3/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The show was simply amazing. Indescribable. The main problem was with the tickets I purchased. I paid top dollar and was seated behind the sound stage and could see 1/4 of the corner of the stage. Ticket never said obstructed view, least to say No View. Mohegan Sun was extremely accommodating and moved us to great seats with clear view of the stage. But no complaints about the show, it was phenomenal.

  • Great experience

The best laser and pyrotechnics show I have ever seen, not to mention the music and performers. Great show!

  • Modefied performance; not neccessarily improvedd

This was my 5th time seeing TSO and it does not disappoint any time. The music and theatrics are always phenomenal. The fire play and lighting were particularly intense this year which was some of the modifications I noticed. One change I really did not appreciate was the story. In previous years the music really complimented the story line. This year, the story seemed an afterthought that was just plugged in wherever. The story completed about halfway through or so and I really could not figure out what the story, or end-state was. One other area was the video of the lady singer on the wall while she was singing on stage. From where I was sitting it looked like the ghost of Christmas past meets the haunting.

  • Great!

  • Bucket list item checked!

I've been wanting to see TSO for years and finally got tickets this year! What made it even more special was being able to take my 7yo. She loved it and was in awe of the whole production. It was everything I imagined and more. The whole crew was amazing and it looks like seeing TSO will be a new annual family tradition.

  • Amazing

If you haven’t experienced TSO, you must!!! Well, unless you’re prone to seizures. Then no :). Every time attending is as amazing as the first

  • Great, but not excellent like last year.

by Dee in Maine on 12/3/25Mohegan Sun Arena - UncasvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Last year was our first time ever seeing TSO. It was so riveting that we talked about it for weeks and couldn't wait to see them again. This year, right from the start it seemed different. The owls and the nut crackers projected on the screens went on too long and were too overpowering. The laser show often drowned the performers out. Its known for the perfect balance of glitz and song. The drones were very cool!! I can understand the feeling of needing to make the show better each year, but not to the extent of losing what already works perfectly. The Christmas story told was very short and had no real solid ending. Stay true to the values that kept you going after nearly 30 years.

  • Disappointing.

This was not so much a holiday show as it was a blaring rock concert. Songs were repetitive. Mostly jarring guitar playing. The stage production was okay, but we have all seen lasers and pyrotechnics. This was nothing new. There was a silly and kind of creepy narrative. We left about half way through.

  • Amazing! Spectacular! Magical!

We were assigned seats in Sec 413, nosebleed city, couldn't see much of the stage. A staff member approached us and gave us 2 floor seats, Sec 101. Amazing seats. Thank you to the Honda Center staff or TSO or both. Then, the music, the story, singing, the baritone storyteller, and pyrotechnics, all spectacular as always. My wife and I have made it a tradition that Christmas doesn't start until we see TSO. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays. No cost parking, yeah!! A small downer, my wife lost her Tanzanite tennis bracelet in the North parking lot or between seats. Still TSO is the greatest!!!
