Trans-Siberian Orchestra On Tour

The holidays rock a whole lot harder than they ever have thanks to Trans-Siberian Orchestra. By infusing seasonal classics with rock flamboyance, a symphonic sense of scope, and an eye-popping visual presentation complete with lasers and pyrotechnics, what began as a side project for a veteran group of American hard rockers has grown into one of today's top-selling acts, with over 10 million concert tickets sold since 1999.

Now, to celebrate the band's 20th year on the road, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is mounting an all-new production of the show that first turned them into an arena-rock phenomenon. First performed in 1999 and recorded for a TV special – which became just as much of a holiday staple as ‘The Sound of Music' – ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Eve' was conceived by Paul O'Neill, TSO's original mastermind. A veteran producer for acts like Aerosmith and Savatage, O'Neill was inspired by the rock operas of The Who and the grandly theatrical concerts of Pink Floyd to create something that was even more spectacular. Together with Savatage members Jon Oliva, Bob Kinkel, and Al Pitrelli, O'Neill developed a unique project that married the spirit of the season with all the exhilarating sounds, operatic grandeur, and visual bravura that fans had come to expect of rock gods. After the massive success of TSO's first two albums, ‘Christmas Eve and Other Stories' and ‘The Christmas Attic,' O'Neill and his team took it on the road (and TV screens) with similarly blockbuster results.

Though TSO's repertoire would extend far beyond holiday songs to encompass the greats of classical music on ‘Beethoven's Last Night' and O'Neill's own original rock operas like ‘Night Castle,' their thrilling and highly singular take on seasonal music remains their trademark. Tragically, O'Neill's passing in 2017 robbed the music world of a true visionary. But his team of friends and collaborators in the Trans-Siberian Orchestra honor his legacy with a new production of ‘The Ghosts of Christmas Past' that both preserves and revitalizes a landmark merger of music, theatrics, storytelling, and seasonal cheer that yielded an international phenomenon.

    Fantasic as always

TSO puts on a Christmas show these is sure to please old time classic rock fans like myself, and is still family friendly and sure to appeal to all ages. The pyrotechnics and light show dazzle your senses and the musicians and singers are great. They have a good assortment of their own songs and traditional Christmas carols set to electric music. The talented narrator tells a simple but fun story. I have been to the show 3 times and will go back again.

    One time show

by ND Family on 1/14/24Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul

We took our 3 grown children and a plus one to the concert. We all thought it was a good show and definitely long enough. But the "story"they tried to tell was completely unnecessary and a bit confusing. We also thought the screens on each side of the stage were wasted by showing landscapes, fireplaces etc. We wanted the screens to show the musicians and singers on stage so we could get a better view of them. It was good to see once, but we will not be repeat concert goers.

I felt the entire show and experience was absolutely wonderful. I’m sure to bring an additional 10 Newbys to the show next year. I’ve been to hundreds of concerts and this one is by far the best!

    Another Awesome TSO concert!!

by Lori H. on 1/11/24Gainbridge Fieldhouse - Indianapolis

This was my second experience with TSO & I loved it as much as the first! I will say I think there was more singing in this one. I am NOT against that, however, my main reason for attending is for the instrumentals. I LOVE the rock n' roll Christmas!!!

    One and done

    by Jodigirl007 on 1/8/24Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I had always wanted to go and finally got to this year. I’m not certain why people go a second time as it seemed like a one and done experience. The musicians were very skilled however they lost a bit of shine pandering for applause and cheers. Excitement and accolades should come naturally at any live event. When the performers repeatedly coach the audience to cheer for them, it gets a bit cheesy. The main performers came across as cliche with the leather pants and long hair. They were super theatrical but not in a good way. They have such superb musical skills. I fail to understand why they would detract from that with a 1980’s glam band vibe. The light show was fantastic as were the chorus singers. Unfortunately the leads distracted from that and left the whole show feeling a bit tacky. I won’t recommend this show to others lest they think I still have a teenage crush on Sebastian Bach.

A full on optical & audio amazement of Christmas music!!

by Martay on 1/7/24Allstate Arena - Rosemont

Who is the second year in a row? I've been to the Rosemont horizon and I'll call the Allstate Arena in Rosemont Illinois to watch the great Trans-Siberian orchestra perform. He's ridiculously, talented, singers, and musicians and performers has never ceases thrill my friends, who love music musicians, I know who have seen them, and generally every person who's coming in contact with a TSOO show!! There are young they're old, and they're everything in between as far as the cast of this great program. Who sings impeccable? There's nothing lounger and cheesy about what they're doing. Top musicians and singers performing a dazzling stage show lights special facts for the substance. Is there 100% of love for Christmas the love from music and performing this rock metal and melodic, beautiful , symphonic , gorgeousness... well, it's just to be experienced.

    New and Improved

by Lori W on 1/6/24Nationwide Arena - Columbus

We have seen TSO a number of times in the past. But this show was even more enjoyable with the quicker pace of the first half, and new and old intermixed.

    Absolutely magnificent!

by Tami on 1/6/24Nationwide Arena - Columbus

I've seen TSO. I surprised my two sisters, who were very instrumental in helping me pack up and move from my home of 30 years after it sold in a matter of three days. I has to be out by December 18th. Holidays were extremely hectic and I knew it would be the a perfect gift. It was! They absolutely loved it, as did I.

    Enjoyable for the whole family

by Kevro215 on 1/6/24Wells Fargo Center - Philadelphia

It was my first time seeing TSO live but hopefully it won't be my last. I had really good seats at the 101 level on the left side of the stage so I had pretty good seats but even if I didn't have good seats it wouldn't have mattered much because TSO was trying to give the show to everyone in the arena. They had a woman singing in a big snow globe in the back of the arena. They had people playing guitar and violin on flying contraptions high above the arena for people in the high sections and a violinist on the arena floor in the crowd. They played a variety of different types of music mostly Christmas related but they were using hard rock guitars and classical music and some soulful sounds so they tried to put out a good variety of music instead of just one style of music. They said they donate one dollar per each ticket sold to a local charity and they used local musicians from each city they visited. And they had a bunch of layers and lighten effects, and they used fire effects. The stage show was a ridiculous masterpiece in my opinion. And it's just really worth seeing at least once in your lifetime.

    TSO experience

by Krystal on 1/5/24Xcel Energy Center - Saint Paul

The X was nice and gave multiple people a free upgrade for better seats. However, the vents or air was on and it was extremely cold for the last 45 minutes of the show. You could also hear the fans/vents running that entire time, which was a distraction from the show itself. That said, music and audio were great, as well as the visuals.
